There are a number of services on the Internet that offer advice on the best places to live, but location-based service Gowalla has launched a new series of features that will help in your choice.

Lauren Indvik from Mashable explains that Gowalla made the decision to launch the service following 100 Best Places to Live in America,” the annual release from Money magazine. The new service from the social networking site allows users to explore areas with the highest rank from the Money magazine’s list.

Gowalla allows users to take a trip to see the top five small cities in the U.S. – one of which is little Eden Prairie, MN. This is considered to be the best place to live thanks to businesses success and a low unemployment rate – both are key factors when choosing to move to a new area.

This feature has certainly done well for Gowalla, and could help in the battle that the service has with Foursquare. CNN Money will now increase the presence of Gowalla – that backing could allow them to catch-up to Foursuare’s 2 million users.
