If you’re a big music fan and like to download your favorite songs you will probably be aware that Google have their very own music streaming service which is known as Music Beta. The company also has their own Music application for Android.

We previously brought you news of the Google Music invitation requesting to get you started when using the service. Today we have news of an update to their Android version that many users will appreciate.

The update will now allow users the ability to delete songs directly from their microSD card. This ability was apparently an option that was not included when the service first launched, much to the frustration of a lot of users.

The news comes from an article at BGR who highly recommend using the search engine’s Music application as they say it is a great ‘improvement over the default Android music player.’ Check out the full article for more about the update by clicking the link above.

Do you use Google’s Music beta? Will you be using it for your Android device? Are you pleased with the update? Let us know your thoughts.

The time has finally come where you are able to request a Google Music invitation, and getting started is easy. There are just three simple steps: Request an Invitation, Upload your music and finally Download the Android app. Once you have signed up you will be able to listen to your own music on the web or a compatible device.

Google Music Beta is free for a limited time only, so you had best sign up fast. This is perfect for those who wish to sync their music without the needs for cables, as you have to do with iTunes. Having said that, Apple is working on their own Cloud service for iTunes, and just needs to sign a deal with Universal to have all the main record companies onboard.

Those who sign up to the new service do not have to worry if they are unable to connect to the Internet to play their music, as your device and the app will remember those that were recently played. That is not all; you can set up default playlists, artist and albums for those times when you are not online.

Once you have signed up you then upload all your music to the Cloud servers, all in a single library. Do not worry, as you can also upload your entire iTunes collection. The service is very easy to use, as once you add new music to your computer, smartphone or tablet it will automatically upload to your online music collection.

For more details and to request an invitation visit Google Music Beta.

This will be yet another market where Apple and Google will be going head to head, the smart money will be on Apple with their iTunes Cloud service. However, we have seen time and again that when Google get it right they are a force to be reckoned with. How will the two fair in 2011 with thee new services?

It is being reported that search giant Google may be about to announce a new online streaming service, which will be similar to one recently released by Amazon. The Google Music cloud service could allow users to get streaming today.

Ethan Smith from The Wall Street Journal is reporting that sources are claiming the service should be announced as early as today. Google have also not secured licenses from the big four music companies, and the service is likely to have features like a remote hard drive.

People who sign up to the new service are expected to be able to listen to tracks uploaded by them, but won’t be able to download music themselves. This is thought to be a move to help prevent pirated music. The service is expected to be announced at the company’s I/O developer’s event in San Francisco.

Unlike the service offered by Amazon it won’t be tied to an online music store, which allows users to purchase extra music tracks. This service which Google are said to be offering gets round the music companies as it only allows users to upload music they already own, but it may have limited features.

But if Google do secure deals with the record companies it will allow users to get instant access to music stored on central servers.
