Anyone who was gaming during the mid-to-late ’90s probably played GoldenEye 007 on the Nintendo 64, if not, shame on you! Today we have another great trailer for you which shows of the remake of the game which is coming to both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, not only do we get to see lots of gameplay – but we also find out some exciting details regarded the multiplayer elements of the game.

If you check out the video embedded at the bottom of the post we think you will agree that the graphics are by no means disappointing, that said there is no comparison to games such as BF3 and MW3. We also noticed a lack of realistic recoil in the game, but in our opinion we are not looking for the most realistic game of all-time, instead we want to relive our childhood memories without getting “pixelated to death” – and that’s what GoldenEye 007: Reloaded is all about.

So what does the trailer reveal? Well firstly we can confirm that the game will allow for 4-player split screen and online game modes will allow for up to 16 players, also the trailer gives us glimpses of some iconic enemies (Baron Semedi, Oddjob, Goldfinger, Scaramanga and Jaws), which you can take out with the weapons you loved from the first game.

What we are most excited about is undertaking the covert missions like we did in the original, remember how you choose either Agent, Secret Agent or 00 Agent? We spent hours trying to unlock the 007 mode – but we doubt it will be the same any more as in 1997 you wouldn’t get gamers showing their tactics on YouTube, instead you would hope to pick up some tips once a week during an episode of GamesMaster!

Check out the video for yourself below and then leave us your opinionated views on the trailer in the comments section, as always we will keep you posted as soon as we hear more exciting news – if you are already won-over you can pre-order yourself this game via most reputable game sites.

Two days ago we confirmed that one of the best game’s of my generation, GoldenEye 007, was coming to both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We were just coming to terms with this news, then we heard that the PS3 version would run at 1080p, whilst the Xbox 360 release would only support 720p, giving Sony’s console an obvious edge, now we have even more to talk about and a video to show you.

We have embedded the game’s debut trailer below (at the end of this post), it introduces you to what you can expect visually and clearly shows that the game has been overhauled massively, some say it looks a lot like Call of Duty, which is by no means a bad thing, we are just glad to see that it still appears to stick to the original game’s roots.

Recently RipTen’s Dave Oshry got some hands on time with the game and he was very complimentary of the early build and said that the game felt CoD-esque, which is no surprise given the fact that this is a game which Activision is publishing. Oshry said that the game’s textures, lighting and shadows looked great and when it come to controls it was “much tighter” than before. If you were worried that the game’s pace would have slowed down don’t, as it is still said to be arcady and fast, and very James Bond-like.

While Oshry played the game someone from Activison apparently told him that the game will feature all-new multiplayer modes, however did not expand on this, we think that is great news as these days multiplayer is what interests people the most when it comes to first-person shooters. Something less significant to tell you is that the game will feature Daniel Craig as James Bond rather than Pierce Brosnan, how do you feel about this?

If you are reading this post having never played GoldenEye 007 on the N64 there is lots that you have missed out on, and it has to be said that this game is not like any other James Bond game you may have played before, this video summarizes what you missed out on. If you ignore the game’s dated visuals you should see that it was a groundbreaking game which paved the way for future first-person shooters, especially in terms of multiplayer. Also you can’t ignore what experts describe as a compelling campaign storyline which entertains throughout.

Check out the trailer below, are you excited about this long-awaited HD version of the game?

For those of you who never thought you would see GoldenEye: 007, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 in the same sentence, think again. Rumors have been racing out the blocks since the start of this month, and we now know that GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded is heading to PS3 and Xbox 360 with a brand new game engine. But not is all that it seems.

We first confirmed the existence of GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded in a previous article, where we informed you of the new game engine, new game modes, new weapons and new customization options, but one feature completely slipped through our vintage James Bond Periscope’s and bug detectors.

According to our spy’s over at VideoGamer, Activision has confirmed that GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded will run at 1080p, but only on the PS3 version. This means that the Xbox 360 version will only run at 720p, which could frustrate and anger a fair bunch of the gaming community. Especially the Xbox 360 Bond fans.

Activision also received less than positive praise for its decision to unleash GoldenEye: 007 on the Nintendo Wii before any other console, but James Steer, who also revealed that the PS3 would have a graphical edge compared to the Xbox 360, has defended this due to the “N64 heritage.” Steer also states that this was also down to the fact that they had to make sure they could develop the technology needed to deliver “60fps, 16 player multiplayer and photo-realistic environments”.

The engine has been steadily worked on throughout 2010 says Steer, and as it became apparent that the game was wanted on other consoles, they have focused on making sure GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded could be the best for the Wii, and even better on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded is due for release sometime this autumn, and will feature a wealth of new features for this remake of a remake. In a preview, VideoGamer said that GoldenEye passed a resemblance to Call of Duty. It’s obviously a look and feel that they wanted to achieve for the Nintendo Wii version released last year, but due to technical limitations, this was not possible.

With GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded creeping up on us, you can almost sense that it will feel right at home on the PS3 and Xbox 360. The homes of modern day shooters should do a game justice that was never really given a chance on the Wii, and the use of analogue sticks is a welcome addition, especially to a game like GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded.

Are you looking forward to GoldenEye: 007 Reloaded for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360? What is your opinion on the omission of 1080p play on the Xbox 360?

We first heard rumors about the possibility of a new James Bond game back at the beginning of this month, when reports began surfacing online stating that Activision had recently registered several domain names for GoldenEye Reloaded. Rumors suggested that the game would be a reworked, high-definition port of the 2010 Nintendo Wii / DS title.

It was also suggested that the game would be heading to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. We can now tell you that the rumors were correct, as according to an article by Wesley Yin-Poole over at eurogamer.net, the publisher has now confirmed the new game as GoldenEye 007: Reloaded. Just as expected, the game will be launched on the Xbox 360 and PS3.

UK video game developer Eurocom is said to have created a brand new game engine to craft the upcoming GoldenEye 007: Reloaded game, which they began last year when they were working on the Nintendo Wii title. Not only does the new game come with a revamped AI and better graphics, it will also run at 60 frames a second as well.

The new game has also has standalone challenge missions – which are collectively called M16 Ops – added. According to Activision, the online leaderboard-fueled extra adds more than ten hours of gameplay to the game. Another feature that has been added is the Challenge Mission Designer, which enables players to apply modifiers to the online modes.

While we are on the subject of online play, it will have room for up to 16 players across 10 different maps. The game will also include split-screen multiplayer. GoldenEye 007: Reloaded comes with four different mission types: Elimination, Assault, Wave Defense and Stealth. Elimination is a time-based mission that tasks players with killing the enemies before the time runs out.

Assault on the other hand will see players having to attack a base. Stealth is similar to Elimination, but aimed at those who prefer quiet killing. As for Wave Defense, this mission has you racing against the clock to take down the enemies, while trying to capture control points on a map, according to another eurogamer.net article by Christopher Donlan.

As Christopher notes, the GoldenEye 007: Reloaded game also promises new weapons, new characters and brand new ways to customize your character. You can read his full preview here. Are you tempted to buy the GoldenEye 007: Reloaded game?

When GoldenEye 007 for the Nintendo 64 was released way back in the 90′s, gamers were astounded at how good it was. So naturally, when it got announced for the Wii, you could hear cheers for miles and miles. Add a special golden gun accessory to that, and you could almost say that you are Bond, James Bond.

The SharpShot is now available to buy for the Wii priced at $24.99 and is created by DreamGear. It also comes in two colors, Gold and Silver, but why would you want the latter if you were a GoldenEye 007 fan?

Regardless, this is brilliant for the James Bond fan as it mounts directly on your Wii remote turning it into an almost real handgun, but don’t get any funny ideas. It does not come with bullets you know. It can be used for any first-person shoot-em-up games and comes with duel triggers to give maximum functionality and control.

Overall, reviews for GoldenEye Wii were impressive with the majority of reviewers giving around 90%. Just a shame the multiplayer does not seem all that great.

James Bond is a pretty cool guy and not all games based on 007 have carried the love to gaming systems, so the reviews of Goldeneye for Nintendo Wii matter to fans of the franchise. The 2010 version of GoldenEye 007 was released in the U.S. this week and will be in Europe tomorrow.

We wanted to give our readers a review roundup for Goldeneye on the Wii, which includes detailed reviews from some of the best gaming sites. First up is IGN, a well-known site that gives Goldeneye (Wii) an outstanding 9/10 and concludes that the game is more than a cash-in for Activision, saying its one of the best games of the year for Wii. Read IGN’s full review.

Game Spy found a few bugs during their review but still states that GoldenEye is one of the Wii’s better first-person shooters. They recommend that you get your controls sorted first, read their full review.

Joystiq rates their games out of five stars, and gave Goldeneye on the Wii four stars. The reviewer also pointed to the control system problems, and said that many options will let a gamer find one that’s best for them. The online multiplayer mode was welcomed for the Wii, and certainly brings the game up-to-date. Read Joystiq’s review.

Have a read of the three detailed reviews above, and let us know if you agree with their opinions. The “Conflict Mode Video” may have been disappointing for GoldenEye 007, but it now seems that the game is a hit and the control system should be your first focus. Will you be buying Goldeneye on the Nintendo Wii?

So far we have seen some great new games revealed at E3 2010, however I must say one of my favorite revelations is that a Goldeneye remake will soon be arrive on the Nintendo Wii.

Earlier today we posted a trailer video for the remake of the Nintendo 64 classic, now we have some screens for you to drool over, well maybe not drool over but at least get excited about.

As the Goldeneye remake is a Wii exclusive the visuals do not look great, however I do not think this is important as Goldeneye was all about gameplay, this solid gameplay pretty much set the standard for follow-up games of the same genre.

You can see all of the screens here, we have embedded our favorite at the end of this post, I can’t help thinking that a HD makeover and an Xbox Live / PSN release would have perhaps been better, this somewhat contradicts my earlier statements, but why can’t we have great graphics with the same great gameplay?

As soon as we heard the news that Nintendo were going to bring back GoldenEye for the Nintendo Wii, we almost instantly thought, “now i’ve got to purchase myself a new console.”

For nostalgic Nintendo 64 players, they will forever remember playing hours upon hours of this classic on their old television sets, in the company of friends, acquaintances, mums, dads, dogs, and gerbils. Now Nintendo have finally answered our prayers and have brought it back to life.

But what will it take to play this remade classic once again, featuring the voice overs of current James Bond actor Daniel Craig when it hits in November?

If you are already a Nintendo Wii owner, you will be over the moon already, gloating about the fact you already own the console, and will easily be able to acquire the game upon release.

For those who don’t own a Wii however, and really want to be able to experience this game in all it’s 3D remade glory, you will have to cough up $199.99 or £149.99 for the privilege (plus the cost of the game).

The question is, is it worth buying a Nintendo Wii for? Tell you what, check out the trailer on a previous post here, and let us know.

Some exciting news for Nintendo Wii owners now, as the company has just announced GoldenEye for the Wii and wait for it – it will be an exclusive title for the console. Nice!

Nintendo were speaking at their E3 keynote when they revealed the news. The remake will feature all those classic moments that you grew up on playing the N64 version.

It will be a full 3D affair, featuring classic Bond characters such as Oddjob and Jaws. We also saw 4-player split-screen multiplayer at the event – again bringing back pleasant memories.

The game will feature voice-overs from current Bond Daniel Craig and will release on the console in November. Check out the E3 trailer below and let us know your thoughts on the remake. Excited?
