When it comes to trucks there are two things that are important to you, space and engine performance. This is just what people will be looking for with the 2014 GMC Sierra, as they will want to compare it against the latest Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500.

From what we can tell from a recent article it looks as though out of the 2014 GMC Sierra, Ford F-150, and the Ram 1500, but the Sierra does not completely impress in terms of engine specs. This is because the 4.3-liter V6 engine delivers 285 horsepower, which translates to 305 pound-feet of torque and a maximum tow rating of 7,200 pounds, which is pretty impressive for a regular cab.

Compare this to the 3.7-liter V6 Ford F-150, which has 500 pounds less tow rating, but the Ram 1500 with the a similar 3.6-liter V6 engine is 700 pounds down over the 2014 GMC Sierra.

It’s clear to see that the 2014 GMC Sierra engine delivers more torque than its rivals, but in terms of horsepower it does fall short. The Sierra offers 285 horsepower when compared to 302 for the Ford F-150 and 305 for the Ram 1500, which is pretty impressive considering they are smaller units by at least 700cc.

So you will have to make a choice, do you go for the 2014 GMC Sierra, which has more torque than its rivals, or would you rather go for horsepower, which means you will have to go with either the F-150 or the RAM instead. Some of our auto readers might have already seen the 2014 GMC Sierra snow sculpture that had been created on top of Whistler Mountain, although around one week ago another video arrived on YouTube that revealed a time lapse of the 2014 GMC Sierra sculpture.

We would like to point out that the sculpture for GMC’s 2014 Sierra had been shot on a GoPro Hero 3, which is great marketing for this action camera. The video is also in high definition all the way up to 1080p.

Over the weekend we learned that GM had issued recalls for the 2013 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana vans, and at that time we had assumed that it only affected 65 of these vehicles in Canada because of an issue with the ignition. However, it seems as though that recall has been expanded to included 980 in the US.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration made the decision to recall these vans because some owners had experienced an issue with the ignition, where they could remove the key while the shifter was in any selection and not just park, this could mean that the affected vehicles could rollaway.

The recall is to start on January 23, and will see GM replace the ignition cylinder and also the keys to go with them. If you are worried about your 2013 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana built between November and December then you should either contact GM on 1-866-996-9463, Chevrolet on 1-800-630-2438 or call NHTSA on 1-888-327-4236 (TTY: 1-800-424-9153).

Update: It would seem that this recall has been known since the 14th January 2013 but was not known by many. Because this is just a small recall (nothing like this one) it is easy to understand why it would just slip by unnoticed, but any problem with a vehicle that leads to a recall is always a cause for concern.
