NVIDIA is responsible for some of the highest quality graphics providers in the market today. Its Tegra 2 GPU has been highly sought after by various mobile device manufacturers and is recently been reported to be included in the Samsung Galaxy S II.

Today we have news of another graphics card being announced by NVIDIA, the GeForce GTX 550 Ti. It’s a mid-range GPU that is aimed at those who are not in a position to splash out on their GTX 560 Ti, but is reported to perform better than the GTS 450.

According to the article by Chris Davies at Slashgear the first examples of its 1680 x 1050 support will be seen soon. Some of the specs you can expect to see from the GTX 550 Ti are 3D Vision support, good support for DirectX 11, a 1GB of GDDR5 memory, 900MHz graphics clock, a clock speed of 1,800MHz and 192 CUDA cores.

The hardware is expected to cost around $149 according to the article, which can be viewed by clicking the link above. You can also visit GeForce.com for more details about the GPU.

What do you think of this mid-range graphics card? Will you be getting one? Let us know in the comments below.

Earlier today you may have seen our post about the GeForce GTX 460, and an official price found via Newegg. In a follow-up, we thought you might want to read a detailed review of this graphics card.

If your looking for a review that thoroughly checks out every area of a card then you will love this article on Guru 3D, which details the GeForce GTX 460 over 30-pages. While NVIDIA’s introduction of the 470/480 wasn’t smooth, this new card has been changed to tackle the problems found in the 1st generation Fermi series.

Guru 3D takes a look at the GTX 460 features and specs, VGA performance under different games, overclocking different versions, the setup, gallery shots, and a lot more over 30 detailed pages.

In their conclusion they found that the card beat expectations, and raised its own bar to compete with cards way above its class. Read the full review, or jump to the long conclusion here.

What do you make of the GeForce GTX 460? Let us know below.
