Back in October last year we announced that both the Forerunner 210 and 410 were all set to join Garmin’s range of GPS sports watches. Now we have received word that Garmin has just revealed its new Forerunner 610 touchscreen GPS sports watch onto the range as well.

According to Dana Wollman at engadget.com, the slimmed-down Forerunner 610 enables users to simply tap the screen to flip through menus, rather than feeling around for the host of buttons. Users will be able to view distance, pace and time elapsed all on one screen.

However, they can also add other things such as heart rate. The Forerunner 610 is also the first in the range that features a run/walk alert, which keeps Auto Lap and other features active even when you’re walking. Just like with other models, the 610 enables users to upload their runs onto the web.

Another great feature on the weather-proof 610 is ‘Virtual Racer,’ which is a Nike Running-style community where users can compare their stats with complete strangers. The 610 also includes a new Training Effect feature, which enables runners to track the intensity of their training.

Are you looking for a new GPS sports watch? If so, do you like the sound of the Garmin Forerunner 610?

A recent report by Tim Stevens from engadet.com reveals that two new fitness watches are going to join Garmin’s forerunner range. The first model to mention is the 410, which has a large bezel with touch control and is said to work in all weather conditions.

Its display shows real-time data regarding your heart rate, distance and pace. When you are at home after the workout, you have the option for it to synch and automatically upload data to Garmin Connect via a USB dongle and ANT+.

Furthermore, the 410 is said to be around $325 while the 210 at $300 offering a less complex display. Both the new Forerunner models are suited for all types of users, and feature the latest Hotfix technology from Garmin.

With the 210 you also get information on time, distance and pace in real-time. The battery life for both devices lasts for about 3-weeks in power-saving mode, and when needed you can charge it via USB and upload your data to Garmin Connect at the same time. If you own a fitness watch, which one will you buy next?
