We have some pretty exciting news now for all you hardcore PC gamers out there, as MSI has just launched its new GX780 and GT780R gaming laptops, which both come with a rather impressive SteelSeries multicolor backlit keyboard and a 17.3-inch full HD display.

As Donald Melanson over at engadget.com notes, both the GX780 and GT780R laptops come with the 2nd-generation 2GHz Intel Core i7 2630QM processor with support for Turbo Boost Technology 2.0, which boosts the device’s core clock speed and overall performance.

Both models come with the latest NVIDIA graphics, with the GX780 sporting the NVIDIA GeForce GT555M with 1GB of DDR5 VRAM and the higher-end GT780R boasting the GeForce GTX 560M with 1.5GB of GDDR5 RAM. They also come with MSI’s Turbo Drive Engine Technology.

The Turbo Drive Engine technology will provide a boost in the device’s graphics performance, in order to accelerate video decoding. Meanwhile, the SteelSeries keyboard features 5 programmable modes that allow users to sync both the rhythm and color to suit the game they are playing.

Of course, no gaming experience would be complete without having some pretty awesome audio, and the MSI GX780 and GT780R laptops definitely won’t disappoint in that department. Both models include Dynaudio speakers, a built-in subwoofer and THX TruStudio PRO.

As for pricing and availability, the GX780 has an MSRP of $1.549.99, while the GT780R has an MSRP of $1,749.99. Both models will be available to purchase from Amazon.com and Newegg.com. Would you buy either of these gaming laptops?

ASUS appear to have been quite busy recently; what with all the new products it has been unveiling at the Computex 2011 event. We’ve already brought you details on the ASUS Padfone and the UX21 notebook, and now we thought we’d take a look at the ASUS ROG G53SX.

As Chris Davies at slashgear.com notes, the ASUS ROG G53SX gaming notebook comes with a glasses-free 3D display, a 2nd generation Sandy Bridge Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560M graphics card with 2GB GDDR5 of video memory, as well as 3D content creation and editing software.

The G53SX gaming notebook can not only convert 2D content into glasses-free 3D content, it can also show both 2D and 3D windows on the screen side-by-side. It also comes with 3DTV Play connectivity, THX and EAX 5.0 3D sound and a 10,000 rpm hybrid hard-drive with SSD partition.

It also comes with a 5-degree inclined keyboard aimed at comfort during those long gaming sessions, and rubber-coated palm rests that are aimed at preventing wrist fatigue and sweating. You can read about more new ROG products via the slashgear.com link above.

Unfortunately there is no word on pricing or availability at this stage, but we will keep you informed when we do hear details. Are you looking to buy a new gaming notebook?

It was only a few hours ago that NVIDIA introduced the new GeForce GTX 560M graphics card during the 2011 Computex Taipei event, and MSI has already taken the spotlight to reveal its brand new GT683 gaming laptop that as you might guess, is powered by the very card.

We have managed to get hold of a list of specs that were announced alongside the laptop, but unfortunately we don’t have any details on a price or release date as of yet. According to Cristian over at tcmagazine.com, the MSI GT683 is powered by a 2.0GHz Core i7-2630QM processor.

The GT683, which weighs in at 3.5kg, also comes with a 15.6-inch display with a full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution display, up to 8GB of RAM, a DVD writer and two 640GB hard drives that are set in RAID 0. It also features the aforementioned GTX 560M GPU with 1.5GB of VRAM.

Other specs include a 2-megapixel webcam, 2 Dynaudio speakers and a subwoofer, Wi-Fi (b/g/n), Gigabit Ethernet and a 9-cell battery that provides users with around 3 hours usage. As for ports, the MSI GT683 comes with two USB 3.0 ports and an HDMI output.

Are you thinking about buying a new gaming laptop? If so, do you like the sound of the MSI GT683 model?
