It’s not just Nyko Technologies that’s revealed new gaming accessories during the E3 2011 event that is taking place in Los Angeles this week, as we’ve just discovered that Turtle Beach has recently unveiled the new Ear Force XP500 wireless gaming headset for the Xbox 360.

As Joe Pollicino over at engadget.com recently noted, the Ear Force XP500 headset features the same design and programmable Dolby virtual 7.1 as Turtle Beach’s PX5 headset, but comes with additional features such as a rechargeable Xbox 360 Bluetooth Chat Adapter and a green trim.

The XP500 headset is both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 compatible, and comes with features such as Microphone Monitoring, which enables users to hear their voice through the headset and Dynamic Chat Boost, which automatically increases the chat level as the game volume increases.

It also enables users to configure up to 18 personalized presets, so they can optimize chat, game and microphone audio for various gaming situations. It also comes with sonic silencers, which eliminates ambient noise pickup on your microphone and cuts background noise from PSN/Xbox Live chat.

The Ear Force XP500 headset will be arriving sometime in the fall, with a MSRP of $269.95. If you’re looking for a more affordable-priced gaming headset, you might like Turtle Beach’s Ear Force XL1 headset. This will also be arriving in the fall, and has a MSRP of $39.95.

You can read more about both the aforementioned gaming headsets via the engadget.com website. Do you like the sound of the XP500 or XL1 headsets?

If you own a PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 console and you’re possibly thinking about buying yourself a new gaming headset, I think we have some news that you really won’t want to miss out on. We’ve just received word that Turtle Beach has recently unveiled its new Ear Force Z6A and PX3 gaming headsets.

According to a recent engadget.com article by Amar Toor, the wireless PX3 headset – which was designed for use with the PS3, but is also compatible with the Xbox 360, PC and Mac – includes 18 interchangeable audio settings, as well as supporting additional presets that can be downloaded directly from Turtle Beach.

The PX3 is the very first Turtle Beach headset to come with a rechargeable, 10-hour battery. Just like the Turtle Beach PX5 headset, the PX3 comes with an impressive set of audio features. This includes Sonic Lens with Sound Field Expander and Ear Guard, with Blast Limiter technology.

As for price and availability, the PX3 has an MSRP of $149.95 and will be available sometime this summer. Meanwhile, the Xbox 360-friendly Z6A headset is powered by a 5.1 channel amplifier with bass enhancement, and boasts 8 amplified speakers (including 2 subwoofers).

The Z6A has an MSRP of $99.95 and will also be available sometime this summer. Are you thinking about buying a new gaming headset?

If you own a PlayStation 3 and you’re possibly thinking about buying yourself a new headset, you might be pleased to know that Sony has just unveiled the brand new official PS3 wireless stereo headset. The bad news however is the fact that the headset won’t be arriving until September.

As Anand Agarwal (product marketing manager, hardware) over on the blog.us.playstation.com website notes, the official PS3 wireless stereo headset – which has been priced up at $99.99 – features 7.1 virtual surround sound, enabling players to hear all minor in-game audio clues clearly.

The official PS3 headset has been designed with comfort in mind, making it ideal for those of you that spend hours at a time gaming. Connecting the wireless stereo headset with the PlayStation 3 has been made easy with the USB wireless adapter that comes included.

An accessible microphone mute and precise volume controls mean that players won’t ever have to interrupt their gameplay to fumble around for buttons. Thanks to the on-screen headset status updates, players can stay informed about the status of their battery and sound controls etc.

The official PS3 wireless stereo headset also features a retractable microphone, so users can tuck it away when they’re not using it. Do you like the look of the new PlayStation 3 headset?
