The amount of people using the service was very limited and as it’s in beta the chances of you knowing people using G+ was unlikely. Now that over 20 million people use the social network, we’re sure you have friends or family able to give you an invite, if not then you click here to use one of the 148 invites I have let.

Within the last couple of days Google also added games to their service, which is pretty cool considering they’re free, although in beta. Playing a game and then sharing your high score with others can become addictive as Facebook users know, and this was one of the features needed to start encouraging Facebook friends and family to jump ship.

While some people won’t let their children use Facebook or are waiting to they’re of age, normally 13-years old, Google+ could be seen as a better option for teenagers but thanks to tighter restrictions you have to be much older to use the service. At the time of writing we believe you need to be 18 years old to use Google+, although this may only be during the beta stages.

Well this is just what IBM set up to show just how powerful and clever its DeepQA supercomputer was. The results did not go the way of the human, which viewers will be able to see in February 2011.

Yesterday was just a demonstration round, so viewers will hope to see the IBM computer beat “Jeopardy champions Ken Jennings and Brad Rutter”. According to eWeek the name of the project is called Watson and has been four years in the making.

We can watch the episode of Jeopardy and see the fun side of it, but there are more serious aspects going on behind the scenes. Having a Supercomputer that is able to understand how we speak and all the slang that goes with it can become very useful in not only the healthcare field, but also business and tech support as well.

Jesse Nunes from Boston.com explains that the Watson Supercomputer consist of 10 racks of IBM servers and includes 15 terabytes of RAM. Do not think that the computer has it easy, as there is no connection to the Internet, so it has to rely on the encyclopedias and other documents stored in its hard drive. It is said that Watson has access to more than 200 million pages of content – more than your average collection then?

Pramath of Gaming Bolt has listed the thirteen games that he expects will blow your mind in 2011.

Amongst his extensive coverage of the top games of 2011 are such big-hitters as Mass Effect 3, Uncharted 3, Crysis 2 and the Elder Scrolls IV: Skyrim. However, he seems to have missed some key games, as those that are fans of driving games have nothing to look forward to in this list, even though such great games as DiRT 3, Test Drive Unlimited 2, Shift 2 and possibly even Grid 2 are being released in 2011.

If, however, you are thinking in the shorter term than the whole year, there are a number of writers out there who have put together lists of new releases for the coming season. One such list, detailing eleven games to look for in this first quarter, has been compiled by Annabel Choy on gizmosync.com, including Little Big Planet 2, Bulletstorm and Deus Ex: Human Revolution, amongst others.

Having looked at the site, there is still a way to go until it offers all the interactive games and information that is fun to the children – maybe me as well?

The North Pole is now preparing itself for the big day, and you can visit the Norad Santa website to visit the village to see what each shop is doing. Currently there is only one game live, and that’s right in the center.

The game in question is Tic-Tac-Toe, so noughts and crosses to those of you in the UK. The game is against the computer; I cannot believe how such a simple game became so addictive – 20 minutes wasted of my life now.

Keep checking back here, just to see if Norad has added any more games. I can remember last year my grandchildren spent hours at a time looking around the village. Just thought I would have another click around; still only the one game. Visit Norad Santa Tracker.
