With the price of gas always seeming to be on an upward trend, now is the time more than ever to think of the best vehicles when it comes for fuel economy. We have told you before about the worst cars and trucks when it comes to gas mileage. We have even given you tips on how best to save fuel with your driving. Today with have the best Trucks for 2011 that achieve the most gas miles.

According to an article by Jennifer Hong of newsoxy the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Hybrid Truck, looks to have the best gas mileage with 22 miles per gallon. This is a 4-door, 5-seat regular side which is available in four trims. Prices start at $38,340 going up to $47,820.

It seems that trucks which are made by Chevrolet/GMC achieve the best fuel economy; the GMC Sierra 1500 Hybrid manages 21-mpg in the city, while on the open road pushes this up to 22-mpg. The prices for the GMC Sierra begin at $38,710 and go up to the 3HB 4×4 which will cost you $48,190.

Automotive.com has a search tool were you can look through all the big manufacturers models and compare specifications.

Does the price of fuel worry you?

It seems lately that the price of fuel is on a constant upward trend and with this in mind it is more important to try and avoid the most fuel demanding vehicles. There are things we can do which can help us as consumers to purchase more fuel efficient cars and trucks.

Last year Adam Hughes from associated content compiled a list of the ten worst fuel efficient trucks and SUVs. Top of the list was the Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG which only returns 11mpg around the city, and only goes up to 15mpg on the highway. Finishing off the top three was the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 AWD; this achieves 12mpg in the city and 16mpg on the highway.

A great US government website called fueleconomy, is available with a whole host of information and tips to try and help you save money. You can compare different makes and types of vehicles including trucks fuel economy. There are also tools to help you work out what MPG you are getting from your vehicle, tips on more fuel efficient driving, and much more.

Cars.com also lets you compare many different classes of vehicles with mpg ratings for city and highway driving listed. Using guides like these will hopefully help you to save money when purchasing or using your car or truck.

When you are in the position of buying a car there are a number of things to consider, but the main factor now has to be what its MPG ratings are. For years we have not paid that much attention to what a vehicle does to the gallon, but rising fuels costs has forced us into this situation – and it is a good thing.

The reason I say this is the fact that a number of drivers no longer want huge gas guzzling vehicles, which is where the Nissan Leaf and the Chevy Volt come in. Whenever you visit a main dealer it is always best to be armed with all the facts about MPG for a certain vehicle that you are considering, as dealerships could not have the facts to hand.

The best place to go has to be the Fuel Economy website, as they not only offer figures for new vehicles, but old as well. Used cars are a huge market, and I am sure that the first thing you will look at is price, and the second is how fuel-efficient it is.

The site is very easy to use, you just go to the ‘Find and compare a car’ link, which is in the form of an image at the top left of the page. Then you have the choice to look at just one vehicle or compare two side-by-side. From there you just choose each model that you wish to compare, and then view the results. You will see MPG results for City and Highway, as well as an annual fuel cost based on a certain mileage each year.

This has to be the easiest way to see the best MPG car ratings, do you agree?

Car technology has changed so much over the years, and as a result fuel-efficiency has improved dramatically. The reason for this is a combination of things, but none more so than with what drives the car. Today we have a number of choices that offer more MPG than standard gasoline powered vehicles; these are Hybrid, EV and Plug-in Hybrids.

The government run Fuel Economy website breaks these done into different categories and offers a comparison of a number of models. When you click in the New Hybrids you will see 2011 Model Year Hybrids from the likes of BMW, Honda and Porsche. I was surprised to see that the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid FWD has the best MPG figures, with the BMW ActiveHybrid 7 and L version having the worst.

Plug-in hybrids are a mix of both standard hybrid and EV; this will help to reduce how much gasoline the car will use. From the three models, it is the Chevy Volt that has got all the attention, and for good reason. There are not many of these models around, but they have started to become more popular as drivers now start to not only care about their wallet, but the environment as well.

Looking at the Fuel Economy website I can see that there are 10 upcoming, if not already released electric vehicles. The most anticipated of them all has to be the Nissan Leaf, which is due for release this month in the U.S. and early next year for Europe.

Looking at the figures, it looks as though the Leaf is the second best in terms of top speed and range, with the 2010 Tesla Model S taking the top spot.

Which of the three types of vehicles are you most interested in?
