It is thought that Morrison’s popular invention was inspired after playing with a metal cake pan on the beach, I very much doubt he ever thought it would ever become this popular.

Originally Morrison planned to call the disc a Whirlo-Way, however soon after settled with the name frisbee. The frisbee was financed and co-developed and by Warren Franscioni in 1948.

When it was first marketed it was under the name Flyin-Saucer, it was mid way throughout the 1950′s that the frisbee really began to see success.
