While it may not be practical considering how much the price of fuel costs in the UK, the demand for the Ford Mustang has been pretty high, because there’s nothing better than hearing the roar from that powerful engine. However, the Ford Mustang UK options are a little disappointing because no new models are being sold in the country, and so it’s left to the auction sites to get our fix of this most iconic muscle car.

Having explored your options for owning a Ford Mustang in the UK there are still plenty of places where you can visit in order to find the right one, such as eBay Motors, Auto Trader, Piston Heads, Gumtree and Car and Classic UK.

However, if you are looking for a new Ford Mustang, then your options are limited, that is until some time in 2014, as Ford has said that the UK version of the next-generation Mustang will be made available to them from next year. However, as you would expect it does come with one major compromise, and that is because the 3.5-litre V6 EcoBoost as well as a V8 lump will not make it across the pond for obvious reasons.

Instead the Ford Mustang for UK drivers will have to make do with a 2.3-litre four-cylinder EcoBoost engine. That’s not the only bad news, as those of you in the UK planning on owning the next-generation Mustang will have to pay the price as well, as the Ford Mustang UK price is expected to be in the region of £30,000 and £50,000, which is far more than they will pay in the US.

To put some perspective on this, the 2005 model sold in the US for $22,000, which is the equivalent of £14,000. Okay, so we know that the new model will cost more and the fact that taxes are higher in the UK, but we just hope there is not a staggering price difference.

We’ve seen a number of Mustang’s go to auction and make a decent amount of money, but the most recent Ford Mustang sale has set a new record, as it sold for $1 million. This is no ordinary model though, as it was the same one used while filming Gone in 60 Seconds with Nicholas Cage.

The 1967 “Eleanor” Ford Mustang went to auction at the 26th Original Spring Classic Auction, which took place from May 14 – 19. 2013. However, this is not an original Shelby, but Eleanor Mustangs still had a huge following, and with the help of a Hollywood blockbuster it’s nice to see the car has not been forgotten.

New Ford Mustang sale sets record

Another reason why this 1967 Mustang fastback was so special is because Chip Foose had a helping hand in its design, and it doesn’t take long to see his famous work. Let’s hope that whoever purchased this Mustang for a cool $1 million keeps a close eye on it and does not let anyone try to steal it, as they do in the movie.

So what made this 1967 “Eleanor” Ford Mustang tick? The engine used is a 351 Ford V-8, which is said to push out 400 horsepower. This might not sound like much by today’s standards, but the deep gurgling sound from that engine sounds so sweet. Having said that, it’s still more powerful than the current standard Mustang, although you cannot really call it standard.

To help get through the gears quickly is a manual transmission of the four-speed variety, and keeping you planted on the tarmac is a set of Goodyear F1 tires mounted on 17-inch rims. As with all vehicles used in movies that go to auction, a certification of the vehicle’s authenticity was also provided.

Thanks to Motor Authority.

Over the years the Ford Fiesta has been one of the biggest selling small cars in the UK market, not only because it was cheap, but because it was also practical as well. Then there was the fact that you had the XR2, which gave boy racers a chance to get a more powerful car on a budget. However, things have changed, and now there is the new Ford Fiesta ST.

If you wondered if this latest model was going to be a success, then fear not as the Ford Fiesta ST UK version already has high demand, as they have over half the 3,000 pre-orders in Europe. This does show that the all-new model has something special, which we will see just what that is in a selection of video reviews below.

In the first Ford Fiesta ST review they begin by saying that while the basic Ford Fiesta is fun to drive, the ST is something special because beneath its bonnet is a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, pumping out up to 200 horsepower – rather impressive for such a small unit. The body kit seems appropriate with the engine and the loud exhaust. The video review covers all the basics of the car, as well as seeing just how well it drives.

Ford Fiesta ST vs. XR2 – We love this second video because it pits the all-new 2013 Ford Fiesta ST against the classic Ford Fiesta, just to see how the two compare when being driven around a racetrack.

However, to see what the new hot-hatch can really do then you want to see Ken Block driving the Ford Fiesta ST 2013. This will give you an idea of just how well the new model handles while being thrown about, just to prove the amount of grip there is at hand.

The Ford Fiesta ST UK price is just £16,995, another reason why the model is so popular. If you’re looking for something a little bigger with just as much fun, then you should consider the 2013 Ford Focus ST instead.

2013 Ford Focus ST vs Mazdaspeed3 – Performance specs shootout http://www.product-reviews.net/2013/05/20/2013-ford-focus-st-vs-mazdaspeed3-performance-specs-shootout/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2013/05/20/2013-ford-focus-st-vs-mazdaspeed3-performance-specs-shootout/#comments Mon, 20 May 2013 11:34:59 +0000 Peter Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=160503 Ford Focus ST vs Mazdaspeed3When it comes to hot hatches, the Mazdaspeed3 has been one of the best on the market, but Ford has never been far behind, and their 2013 Ford Focus ST...]]> Ford Focus ST vs Mazdaspeed3

When it comes to hot hatches, the Mazdaspeed3 has been one of the best on the market, but Ford has never been far behind, and their 2013 Ford Focus ST could very well challenge Mazda’s new model. The reason we have high hopes for Ford’s latest model is because it’s turbocharged and has many improvements, so how does it compare?

We’ve come across an informative video review where we get to see a 2013 Ford Focus ST vs Mazdaspeed3, where the performance specs are compared to see which of the two has the edge. So let’s look at the all-important facts first.

2013 Ford Focus ST performance specs

A 2.0L Ecoboost engine powers the 2013 Ford Focus ST, which is able to produce 252 horsepower and a 0-60 mph time of just 5.9 seconds. Compare this to the 2013 Mazdaspeed3, with its 2.4-liter engine producing 263 horsepower, although the acceleration is a little slower with a 0-60 mph time of 6.5 seconds.

2013 Mazdaspeed3 performance specs

The reason for this is because the Mazdaspeed3 weighs 3281 pounds, while the ST weighs in at 3223 pounds. The Mazdaspeed3 will achieve 18 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, compared to 23 mpg city and 32 mpg highway for the ST.

The 2013 Mazdaspeed3 looks angry and aggressive, which is what a hot-hatch should be. The ST looks a little more reserved, although that larger grille looks as though it’s ready to suck up the road and spit it out the back.

2013 Ford Focus ST vs Mazdaspeed3 specs

Above we have side-by-side comparison figures of these two vehicles, along with an extensive video review below to see which out of the 2013 Ford Focus ST and Mazdaspeed3 comes out on top.

2014 GMC Sierra vs. Ford F-150, Ram 1500 engine specs http://www.product-reviews.net/2013/05/09/2014-gmc-sierra-vs-ford-f-150-ram-1500-engine-specs/ http://www.product-reviews.net/2013/05/09/2014-gmc-sierra-vs-ford-f-150-ram-1500-engine-specs/#comments Thu, 09 May 2013 13:38:17 +0000 Peter Chubb http://www.product-reviews.net/?p=159971 2014 GMC Sierra vs. Ford F-150When it comes to trucks there are two things that are important to you, space and engine performance. When it comes to trucks there are two things that are important to you, space and engine performance. This is just what people will be looking for with the 2014 GMC Sierra, as they will want to compare it against the latest Ford F-150 and the Ram 1500.

From what we can tell from a recent article it looks as though out of the 2014 GMC Sierra, Ford F-150, and the Ram 1500, but the Sierra does not completely impress in terms of engine specs. This is because the 4.3-liter V6 engine delivers 285 horsepower, which translates to 305 pound-feet of torque and a maximum tow rating of 7,200 pounds, which is pretty impressive for a regular cab.

2014 GMC Sierra vs. Ford F-150 engine specs

Compare this to the 3.7-liter V6 Ford F-150, which has 500 pounds less tow rating, but the Ram 1500 with the a similar 3.6-liter V6 engine is 700 pounds down over the 2014 GMC Sierra.

It’s clear to see that the 2014 GMC Sierra engine delivers more torque than its rivals, but in terms of horsepower it does fall short. The Sierra offers 285 horsepower when compared to 302 for the Ford F-150 and 305 for the Ram 1500, which is pretty impressive considering they are smaller units by at least 700cc.

So you will have to make a choice, do you go for the 2014 GMC Sierra, which has more torque than its rivals, or would you rather go for horsepower, which means you will have to go with either the F-150 or the RAM instead. If you would like to see what the new GMC Sierra looks like in ice form, then check this out.

The 2013 Honda Civic has a number of competitors that compete directly and top of the list includes the Ford Focus and Hyundai Elantra. It is also worth noting that the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze, Kia Forte and Subaru Impreza are alternatives as well.

We love the 2013 Honda Civic but you cannot doubt the driving ability of Ford’s 2013 Focus thanks to amazing handling with a comfortable but firm ride.

2013-Honda-Civic-vs-Ford-Focus-and-Hyundai-Elantra

Today, we wanted to feature an article that rates the 2013 Honda Civic an 8/10 and compares their review to the above-mentioned cars. The only other similar cars to beat their 2013 Honda Civic rating is the 2013 Ford Focus at 8.8/10 and the 2013 Hyundai Elantra at 8.4/10.

Check out this page that features a breakdown of the main specs for each car, the ratings, price and other information. All the key information is contained on one page that makes it easy to compare the models.

2013 Honda Civic review – We have also featured a number of videos within this article, which take a look at each of the cars from different perspectives. The first video above features the 2013 Honda Civic and this visual review runs for just under 15 minutes, which also contains a test of the exhaust, a walkaround and test drive.

The reviewer explains that Honda’s 2013 Civic has been pushed back into the top 3 compact vehicles thanks to fresh styling, excellent fuel efficiency, sporty driving dynamics and generous standard equipment.

2013 Ford Focus review – above you will see two more videos, the first features one of the best compacts from Ford and in the 12-minute review you’ll see a walkaround of the vehicle and a test drive. The 2013 Ford Focus is a cheap commuter car that’s economical, simple and hard to find a fault with. We also included another video featuring an in depth test drive of the Ford Focus ST for those that want something a lot more sporty.

2013 Hyundai Elantra review – finally, we have an in-depth video review of the Hyundai Elantra Coupe SE that takes you through a start up and good look inside. You will also see another video above that delivers a test drive of the GT manual version.

2013 Honda Civic vs. the 2013 Ford Focus and 2013 Hyundai Elantra, what would you say is the best and why?

It has been an impressive year for Ford and the April sales reveal just how good things are going. In a report from the start of this month we can see that the Ford Fusion sales in April 2013 set a new record for that month, which saw Fusion increase sales by 24 percent. The Ford Escape took things a step further by increasing 52 percent in the same month.

Ford’s April sales in total were up 18 percent when compared to 2012, which are said to be the best results in 6 years. Ford has also revealed that the new Lincoln MKZ sales hit the best performance to date, with Lincoln increasing 21 percent overall.

Ford-Fusion-sales-impress

The demand for Ford’s new Fusion and Escape is incredible in the United States, and Ford mentioned in a release that they’re trying “harder than ever” to meet this record demand, which is due to both cars being extremely fuel-efficient.

Ford’s sales figures for April 2013 – the Ford Fusion sales hit 26,722 vehicles, Escape did 25,826, and the new Lincoln MKZ moved 4,012 vehicles and finally Ford’s F-Series pickup increased at 24 percent with exactly 59,030 sold.

Do you own the Ford Fusion, Escape, Lincoln MKZ or F-Series pickup? If so, are you happy with your auto purchase?

The previous version of the Ford Kuga was released in 2008, so seems strange that Ford has decided to completely redesign their Sports Utility Vehicle, although there is far more competition these days, so maybe they never had a choice.

What we like about this model is the likes of the UK will not have to wait for the new Ford Kuga release, as it comes under the One Ford global car policy, so we all get to appreciate the new SUV at the same time.

New Ford Kuga review, Titanium X model

Over the years Ford has not changed their model line-up, with the Titanium X being the top of the range variant. While this may not be the best seller because of the price factor, we wanted to offer a Ford Kuga Titanium X review, just to see if it would be worth paying the extra money.

The new Ford Kuga is larger than the older model, and so you not only have more cabin space, but a much larger boot as well, 456 litres in fact, although it could still be bigger. The styling has changed as well, because the new Kuga is not in your face like it once was, as it’s now subtly styled.

New Ford Kuga review, Titanium X interior

Some of the older SUVs often suffered from body roll, this is because a higher centre of gravity, but Ford has been very clever with the suspension and electronics to try to counter this.

The Ford Kuga Titanium X has a choice of 2 petrol engines and 5 diesel engines. Ford seems to be backing their diesel units because they are smooth, quite and powerful – how times have changed.

However, when you do put your foot to the floor you will hear the diesel engine raise its tone, but not as much as you would think.

The Titanium X comes with all the goodies as the Titanium, but adds 18-inch alloys, Torino leather seats with variable heated seats, a power tailgate, Bi-Xenon headlights, opening Panorama roof and much more, all of which can be found on the Ford website. Overall the new model is a vast improvement over the older version, and thanks to it’s increased size, it can now compete with some of the larger SUVs on the market.

The Ford Kuga Zetec model starts from £20,900, the Titanium £22,550 and the Ford Kuga Titanium X price is £25,300.

This is just a mini new Ford Kuga review, but for a greater insight you might wish to view some of these video reviews below as well. Although they are not for one particular model, but rather the new Kuga as a whole.

There seems to be some confusion as to a new Ford recall because Ford and the NHTSA has yet to notify us, while Edmunds seems to be the one on top of the news. If we are to believe this news then Ford is to recall the 2013 C-Max, Escape and Focus.

The reason for these recalls is due to an issue with a defective child door lock mechanism on the left rear, and the concern is that a child may be able to open the door while the vehicles are in motion. I’ve had this happen to me once before traveling at speed and the next moment my grandson had opened his door.

Luckily he was secured into his seat and because the wind speed kept the door from completely opening I was able to bring the car to a stop and make certain that the child safety lock was on this time – yes it was my fault and I now make certain that this is checked each time children are in my car.

Vehicles affected were built in November 2012 and will include around 5,650 units in the US. Ford has updated this news by sending out an email saying that they were not aware these vehicles had any issues, which does not fill you with confidence.

While there is a little to go on we would suggest you call either Ford on 866-436-7332 or the NHTSA at 888-327-4236. Ford has had several recalls recently, with the 2013 Escape being recalled twice before and an impeding recall for several other Ford and Mercury models.

The list of vehicle recalls in 2013 is growing, which just proves that car manufacturers are still making mistakes. Okay, we all make mistakes (which I know) but when there is a fear that these can cause injury or in rare cases fatalities then surely something needs to be done?

According to a report it seems that various Ford and Mercury models may have to issue a recall for 725k vehicles if the NHTSA investigation shows that there is a serious fault with these models. Included in the study are the Ford Escape and Fusion and the Mercury Mariner and Milan. If these are to be recalled, then they will affect various years.

If you own a 2005-2012 Ford Escape, 2011-2012 Ford Fusion, 2005- 2011 Mariner and also a 2011 Milan then you may want to keep an eye on the NHTSA website, just in case they decide to issue a recall for these vehicles. The reason for the investigation is because there have been reports that the throttle body has been malfunctioning.

There were reports about this several years ago, but never amounted to anything as Ford did not acknowledge it as a problem. Well here we are several years down the line and it could come back to bite Ford.

Just last December Ford had to issue a recall for their 2013 Ford Escape and Fusion models because in some cases their engines were overheating. This doesn’t fill you with confidence about the two models does it?
