Depending who you ask most people will come up with the same answer, as to what is the top 10 best muscle cars of all time are. One thing we do know, none of the cars being made today will make it on a future list, as they lack the character as the old models have.

Muscle cars back in the day were all about one thing, power and lots of it. However, there is no getting away from the fact that they also had that certain look that made you fall in love with them. Autos Craze has listed the top ten, but do you agree with the list?

The first on the list, and one that many car fans agree on is the Ford Mustang Boss 429. The reason why this vehicle resides at the number one spot is because the car not only looks aggressive but also has the power to back it up. Number two is the 64 Dodge Charger; this car was loved because of its slight resemblance to the Mustang. The most loved feature of this car apart from those looks was the 7.4-litre V8 powerful engine, which produced an eye-popping 450bhp.

About.com Cars has been looking at the top ten of modern day muscle cars, and they just don’t seem to have the same vibe. A fine exapmple of what I am talking about is their number one car on the list, the Cadillac CTS-V. Personally I think that this is one of the most ugliest cars I have seen in some time, and that’s not the only horrible car on the modern day list.

If you had to choose what would be your ultimate muscle car of all time?

When is comes to muscle cars the Ford Mustang has been the number one seller for the past 24 years, but that has now changed, as GM’s Chevy Camaro has now taken the top spot. We just wonder if this result will now affect your buying decision? There has to be a good reason why the result has changed?

The 2010 Chevrolet Camaro sold 81,299, whereas the 2010 Ford Mustang sold just 73,716, that’s a difference of 7,583. There were signs that General Motors were taking the fight to Ford in a scale much larger than before, this was ever since they redesigned the Camaro back in 2009.

This fight in the muscle-car market has been good for both Detroit automakers, but not for the Obama administration, as Keith Naughton from Bloomberg points to the fact that they have been wanting to steer American’s away from such cars and persuade them to go for more fuel- efficient vehicles.

According to an article on Daily Morning News sales were down for both the Mustang and the Camaro by 16 and 26 percent respectively. I am no genius, but one would presume that this had something to do with the build-up to the holiday season. However, they might have decided to wait for the Convertible version, which was on being displayed at the 2010 LA Auto Show back in November? Which of the two muscle cars would you now choose, please let us know below?

Who would ever imaged that you could own a new 2011 Ford Shelby GT500 for the price of just $200? Well you can if you were one guy at the recent QuakeCon. This gaming event held a raffle where you had the chance to win one of two new muscle cars.

One guy was lucky enough to have been giving one of the 100 tickets for the chance to win the 2011 Ford Shelby GT500, and as he thought that he did not stand a chance of winning – he sold his raffle ticket for $200. You guessed it that was one of the winning tickets.

Now I do not know about you, but I would have felt sick about that, knowing that you had just giving up a 2011 Ford Mustang worth over $22,000. More details on this model can be found at over on Ford Vehicles.

Jonathon Ramsey from Autoblog thought that it was so funny that he has included a video of the transaction and winning ticket being called out, which you can see below. Have you ever done anything as stupid as this?

In partnership with DUB magazine and styling experts Roush Industries, Ford has introduced a limited edition Mustang for 2011.

Available in convertible, coupe or glass-roof flavours the 305 horsepower V6 muscle car gets a full Roush makeover. Styling includes Roush front bumper and splitter, quarter window covers and a decal kit to match a DUB embroidered black interior.

Obviously being inspired by DUB magazine the slick looking Ford rolls on 20-inch TIS wheels kept off the tarmac by Pirelli rubber. To complement the large rolling stock Roush lowering springs drop the Mustang closer to the road and give it a mean stance.

Although the engine modifications have been left behind, Ford has installed a 3.31 rear axle for better acceleration. The DUB edition will be available in auto or six speed manual with the choice of four exterior colors: Black,Blue,Silver or Red. Check out the link for Ford’s press release.

The Ford Mustang is a beautiful beast but has never been a vehicle built with the environment in mind. The Detroit automaker has tried to do their bit with the car by offering a new V6 gasoline engine – but it still likes to drink the gas. However, we have just learned that Ford is thinking of introducing a new engine to the model – a 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6.

The reason that the Blue Oval is thinking of doing this is because they need to crack the European market – Ford believes that a diesel could do this. The U.S. carmaker understands that diesel engines are very popular in Europe; so this would be the engine of choice for the Mustang to make it there.

Autoblog learned from Autoline After Hours that the 3.0-liter turbodiesel V6 engine would be the same one used in the European Jaguar XF and XJ models. These power units still have enough grunt – producing 270 horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque. Even more impressive is the fuel economy figures – 34.6 mpg combined.

If Ford do offer this new Diesel Mustang to the European market – we wonder if it will ever make it across the pond to the U.S.?

If you were ever in the market for a performance coupe – then you could do a lot worse than the 2011 Ford Mustang V6. Prices will start at just $23,000, which you have to admit – is very reasonable. The smaller engine has never appealed to Americans much as it lacked power, but they are now swapping that for fuel economy.

The Car Connection managed to get some time with the new Mustang so thought they would offer a review after their first drive with the vehicle. Do not think that because it has a smaller engine there will not be enough power, being pinned back in your seat as you floor the gas pedal is proof of that – this is all thanks to its newer refined engine.

The new 2011 Ford Mustang V6 offers so much more than older models, the Detroit automaker has developed a car that is very satisfying to drive – and a throttle note that will make the hairs on your neck stand up.

The V6 Ford engine produces 305 horsepower and gives you a return of 19-mpg city and 31 highway with the auto transmission and 19 and 29 with the manual. If that is not enough to wet your appetite, then read the full test drive review from The Car Connection

With the new 2011 Ford Mustang GT and Mustang V6 being paraded around, we are still waiting for more information on these new models.

We know from previous reports that Ford has been keen to show off its increase in fuel economy for its V6 (see our report on Ford’s Mustang 1000 lap challenge), but there is also more importantly an increase in power. The 3.7-liter V6 produces 305 horsepower and with 280 Ib-ft of torque is Mustang’s most powerful yet, compare that to the 4.0-liter 210-horsepower “Cologne” unit currently in use.

The GT is set to return with its mechanicals upgraded and still packing its famous 5.0-liter V8 for that all important burble. Hopefully more information will soon be available, in the mean time check out the impressive pictures over at AutoBlog.

Ford Mustang followers are interested in one thing when it comes to a new power train being introduced for 2011, and that is power. Even so Ford would also like to highlight the fact that although the new power plant does produce substantially more power it also has improved fuel economy.

On June 23rd Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee will host Ford’s attempt to run over 1,000 laps of its half-mile track on a single tank of gas. The new Ford Mustang’s V6 has already gained figures of 19 miles per gallon in the city and 31 mpg on the highway.

With a target of over 500 miles from one tank, the Ford test driver’s will circle the track, hopefully hitting over 1000 laps before the tank runs dry. While the test is being carried out you can log on to www.Mustang1000LapChallenge.com and have a guess as to how many laps you think the Mustangs will finish before it coasts to a halt. Ford will then draw at random the name of one person who guessed correctly and they will win a 2011 V6 Ford Mustang. Head over to AutoBlog for more.

How many laps do you think the Mustang can do?
