The Ford Edge has received updated styling, and the interior has been improved with better materials according to an article by Aaron Gold over at About.com. The vehicle will be the first Ford in the US market to benefit from the 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine. It will also be getting the MyFord Touch controller, which allows for easier access to many of the cars functions.

There will also be an Edge Sport model which will have a V6 3.7 liter power plant producing 305 horsepower. Another model getting an update is the Expedition which will see a new XL base model. HD radio will now be optional, and the entertainment system will have dual screens in the back of the front-seat headrests.

The 2011 Explorer will be powered by a 3.5 liter V6 unit providing 290hp, or a four cylinder 2-liter providing 237hp. The V6 versions will now have an easy to use all wheel drive system, and the list of new safety equipment includes inflatable seatbelts, which will be available for the back seat. This will reduce the risk of injuries in children and elderly passengers by spreading the load in the event of an accident.

A car which has mainly been developed in Europe the Fiesta will also be available. This will be Ford’s new entry in the subcompact class, and has a 1.6 liter engine that achieves the best fuel economy in its class.
