However, we now have a bit more information about the upcoming DLC, including when we can expect it to arrive. According to Owen Good over at uk.kotaku.com, the new downloadable content adds bare-knuckle fighting to the Fight Night Champion game.

The DLC’s new bare-knuckle ‘Old School Rules’ feature will be added to both online and offline gameplay, and will play out just like the prison sequences that featured in the game’s narrative mode: no referee, no timed rounds and the last man standing.

However, not all of the licensed boxers in the game’s roster will be included in the ‘Old School Rules’ feature. Big names such as George Foreman, Joe Frazier, Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Ray Leonard, Evander Holyfield, Oscar De Lay Hoya and Roberto Duran will not be available.

The upcoming DLC package will also bring five legendary boxers to the game: Floyd Patterson, Rocky Marciano, Joe Louis, Jack Johnson and Jack Dempsey. The downloadable content arrives on the Xbox 360 on March 29th and on the PS3 on March 30th.

As Jim Girgenti at gamingbolt.com noted, the upcoming title update has fixed a couple of bugs including one in which the Perfect Block would occassionally freeze the opponent’s inputs, and another where the guard would go back up late if the player threw more than 1 punch out of the block.

The upcoming title update also features a few adjustments and improvements to certain parts of the Fight Night Champion game. For example, the stamina recovery has been adjusted, which means that there will now be less stamina recovered between the rounds.

Players will also find that regular punches will now do more damage and combination punching will be more effective than before. Combination punching has also been adjusted, so gamers should see now a bigger difference in the combination speed between boxers with a high and low Combination Skill rating.

It looks as though EA Sports is not satisfied with the amount of details that they’ve already released as according to Mike Jackson at computerandvideogames.com, they’ve now decided to release a brand new trailer that explains the game’s new ‘Online Gyms’ mode.

As you can view in the video below, the new developer diary explains a little more about the new ‘Online Gyms’ feature. The new mode enables players to create their very own online boxer and gym (or maybe join another players’ gym), and compete in online boxing tournaments.

According to Jason Weissman over on the gamerant.com website, Mike Mahar – the Fight Night Champion game’s producer – explains that if players get tired of competing against their friends, their gym roster can go head-to-head with other online gyms in Rival Matches instead.

Winning these types of events or regular online fights will earn you more XP, which enables you to increase your boxer’s attributes. Fight Night Champion will be launching on March 1st / March 4th, and will be available for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

According to a recent article over at nodpad.com by Daniel, EA Mobile has just announced that it will be releasing the much-awaited boxing game onto the Apple App Store. That is all we know at this stage unfortunately, as a release date and pricing has not yet been mentioned.

However, Electronic Arts has been kind enough to release a few screenshots for the forthcoming application, which you can view via the nodpad.com website. As Daniel over at intomobile.com recently noted, EA has promised that the iOS version will have fluid touch controls and good quality graphics.

The Fight Night Champion game – which will feature up to 20 current boxing champions including Manny Pacquiao, as well as all-time legends such as Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson – doesn’t appear to be the only sports-related game that’s heading to the iPhone either.

EA Mobile has also revealed plans to bring the NBA Jam game to iOS as well. Although we don’t know what features the game will have or which teams will be included, we do know that it will be arriving on the Apple App Store pretty soon. Will you download either of these iOS games?

In the demo you can box as legends such as Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, alternatively you can fight as modern day starts Manny Pacquiao and Miguel Cotto, in the demo you also get to see a glimpse of the game’s highly anticipated Champion Mode.

The last Fight Night game was Round 4 which was released back in June, 2009, this game received a pretty good reception, however has grown a bit stale given the fact it is 18 months old, this time round the game will a new “Full Spectrum Punch Control” scheme and an emotionally absorbing storyline, however it will still feature the solid boxing backbone which previous Fight Night games featured.

According to Robert MacNeroy over on thegameheadz.com website, the demo will include just four of the 54 licensed boxers that will be featured in the Fight Night Champion game, including Mike Tyson, Muhammad Ali, Miguel Cotto and of course, Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao.

The upcoming demo also features a total of six controller configurations, as well as a 2 week preview of the online mode – which will allow gamers to play with friends online for 2 weeks after the demo’s release – and an introduction to the brand new Full Spectrum Punch Control System.

As Jason Weissman over at gamerant.com reports, the demo is due to hit the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade at some point today (February 1st). The one thing about the demo that may disappoint according to Jason is the fact that the new “Champion Mode” will not be a playable feature.

According to Shui Ta over at examiner.com, Electronic Arts has just released ten brand new screenshots for the Fight Night Champion game, which just happens to be the first-ever mature-rated title from EA Sports. The screenshots show off a variety of venues, modes and boxers from the game.

If you are wondering just how messed up the boxers actually get in the Fight Night Champion game, then the recently-released damage trailer is sure to give you an idea. As William Usher over at cinemablend.com reports, the trailer shows off body, facial and impact damage – in slow motion!!

We have embedded the trailer at the end of this post, it lasts two minutes and shows a compelling-looking Hollywood-inspired career mode (aka Champion Mode), however does not show any gameplay footage, at the end it states that the game will become available on March 1st 2011.

In previous Fight Night games the career modes have not been very exciting, therefore I must admit the gritty story line should be a fresh change to what has been quite a repetitive series, let’s just hope Fight Night Champion sticks to its roots in terms of gameplay and multiplayer elements.

I can see my first match being Ali vs. Tyson but I am also surprised that they have not yet included Rocky Marciano who had a professional career of 49 wins, 42 knockouts and 0 losses. Now there’s a champion. Also I haven’t seen Floyd Mayweather.
