Popping on to Google today might be a reminder if you have forgotten something, which shows a new Google doodle for Father’s Day 2012. This years animated doodle starts with the letter L sitting in a chair reading a newspaper, then a remote controlled robot carrying a hot drink shows up and hands the drink to Father.

You can see the quick animation by visiting Google UK, US, or many other Google home pages around the world. The doodle is honoring an event that gives many children a chance to show their Father’s they care, although we wonder how many people know that it is an event started by Sonora Dodd, an American in the early 20th century.

Google links their logo to a search for Father’s Day and provides a range of products, services, and information for you to read. This will help kids find crafts to create something last minute for dad this weekend, or you could even get some last minute Father’s Day gift ideas if you still need to pop out before visiting parents.

Did you forget it was Father’s Day, and if so how will you show you care today? On a side note we’d love to hear your thoughts on Google doodles, and if you love the service Google provides by changing their logo on important events.

Having a tough time making the right choice for your dad this Sunday, well we have some more ideas to offer. However, we have to warn you that we have a bit of an Apple infatuation for Fathers Day 2011. This does make a change from some of the other ideas that we gave you, such as a Samsung Smart TV, as well as a few eccentric ideas.

Those of our father’s who are lucky enough to own an iPad 2 might have one or two accessories at the most; so why not get him a few more to add to his collection. However, most of the good stuff is not available from Apple in any way, so you have to do a little shopping away from those sparkling clean stores.

Instead of having your Dad’s iPad engraved why not find a few stickers. Now we are not talking about those cheap ones that you get from a $0.99 store, we mean some good quality ones that will not fall off in 5 minutes flat. If you do have a limited budget then you could always get him an iTunes voucher so he can get a few apps for his iPad, but you might not get to see him much – this could be a good or bad thing.

There are not that many docks for the iPad but they are out there, you just have to go that extra mile to find them. Although they are a little on the large side – wish they had an iPod version of the iBamboo for the iPhone.

Sticking with that natural wood theme there are a few stands on the market that are made from cherry hardwood. When you have these sitting on your desk it is as if technology has mated with nature. These are just a few ideas for your iPad owning Father, do you have any more to share?

Although not as commercialized as Mother’s Day, it always seems to be a little tougher choosing Father’s Day gifts. Now we know that there are thousands of products that you can choose, but it is not as simple as a bunch or flowers, perfume or chocolate. Having said that, some Dad’s are easy, whereas there are those who are not, as they seem to have all that they need. One piece of advice we would give you is go for something out of the ordinary, so here we will offer up a few eccentric ideas.

First up is from the image above, we have to say that this is the best pencil sharpener we have ever seen. Now we can never remember one of these being at school, then again how much work would you have got done? If your dad does have a sense of humor, then this could be perfect for him.

Second up with have a gadget that is perfect for all father’s who loves to work in their garage or shed. Below is an image of the Magwear Magnetic Wristband, which allows you to keep screws, nails nuts and bolts handy for when you need to get to the, the price for this is just $19.95.

Most dads hate to cook in the home but give them a grill in the garden and they are on it like a lion to a gazelle. As the summer season is upon us we believe that a great gift for dad will be this Oregon Scientific’s Talking BBQ Thermometer below. The gadget is wireless and talks out the temperature to you. The price is $59.99, which is a small price to pay for perfect meat.

These are just three ideas for your dad on Sunday, but we do have another couple of ideas at each end of the price scale. If money is limited then why not get him a Father’s Day eBook. However, if money is no object then treat your dad to a Samsung Smart TV.

We hope that these ideas are of help to you, if not help our readers out by adding your thoughts below.

With just under one week to go, children will now be scratching their heads as for a few ideas on Fathers Day gifts. However, we think we have a solution for you if money is no object, a Samsung Smart TV. OK, we know that this will be out of range for a huge percentage of you, but those who have a budget of just over $2,000 then you could do a lot worse here.

Over the years you would have figured out that our father’s like nothing more than to sit in front of the TV and watch a good old movie or a huge sporting event. More often than not they like to have a few friends over to watch the big game, but we know how that angers their wife. However, with the Samsung Smart TV it will be like your dad’s mates are there watching it even if they are not – if you know what we mean?

You may remember sometime back that we discussed how you could use the power of social media to communicate with friends via Twitter or Facebook? Well just imagine your father sitting down and watching the Super Bowl and being able to chat with his friends while they are at their homes doing the same thing; that way your dad is happy is so is your mum?

Do remember that there is so much more to this TV than that though. Your father might prefer to watch movies and not sports – as my dad does. Now this is where the world of 3D comes into its own. Never before have you been able to get much closer to the action. Do remember that you will need a 3D Blu-ray player to match – again Samsung has this covered.

Make certain that your parents have enough space in their home for a large screen TV, as the new range of Smart TVs from Samsung start from 55-inch and go up to 64-inch – although that will cost you a massive $3,799.99. Please remember that you have a few choices to make, so this is not something to be rushed into, such as screen size, budget, 3D or 2D and finally LED or Plasma.

You do not have that long to go, make the choice before it is too late.

Fathers Day is just days away and there could not be a better time to get him a gift he deserves. You cold go ahead and get him some of the hottest gadgets at the moment – such as a new Sony PS3 Slim or even an Xbox 360 Arcade bundle for just $99 from Walmart, which we discussed in a recent post.

However, if you love your father as much as you do then why not get him his card on the day, Sunday, June 20, 2010. Then you could tell him that you have a special gift coming for him. So what could you get him? Well you could go over the top and pre-order a new iPhone 4 for him – although you will have to wait until July 2 as all pre-order sales have been met.

If your dad is into his gaming then why not let him wait that little bit longer for the new Xbox 360 Slim. This new games console from Microsoft is smaller, quieter and faster than the original model and even comes with built-in wireless.

If that does not appeal to you, then how about the HTC EVO 4G or Droid Incredible? Yes both will cost several hundred dollars – but surely your father is worth it? These are just a handful of gadgets that I am certain that your dad will like, if you have any other ideas then please let our readers know.

Most of you will know that this Sunday, June 20, 2010 will be Father’s Day – but what you might not know is that it will be the 100th Anniversary of this great day. There are so many gift ideas to show your dad how much you care – but none more than a hand-made gift from his young child.

Debbie Turner from OnlyKent has been looking at some of these handmade gift ideas to give to your father on this very special day. This is the one day where they can relax and not put their hands in their pocket for a change – well that is meant to be the idea.

Before you consider making a gift yourself, why not get him a Best Dad trophy first – yes it is corny, but they will love it. If you head over to Activity Village, there is a huge list of craft products for you to make yourself. DaniellesPlace has some pre-made handcrafted gifts for you to choose from also.

There are so many ideas that it would take too long to write them all down. Why not make him a handmade card – this will have a more personal touch and will show that you have spent time and effort. Trust me, your father will love it.
