If you were fortunate to receive Skyrim as a gift over the Christmas holidays or have played the game before, you will be well aware of Bethesda’s talent. The developer is also behind the Fallout series which, for those who aren’t aware, are the post-apocalyptic setting RPGs. Fallout 3 was actually voted Game of the Year in 2008.

The latest installment in the series is Fallout: New Vegas, which was released in October 2010. Today we have news that a lot of fans of the series and the developer will find extremely exciting, particularly if they’ve never played the game before, as the Ultimate Edition has been announced and is expected to hit the shelves February 7th in the US and a few days later in Europe.

To commemorate the launch of the Ultimate Edition title Bethesda has also released a trailer which tantalizes what will be featured in the collection. Previously released DLC and add-on packs will be a part of the new title which includes Lonesome Road, Old World Blues, Honest Hearts and Dead Money.

The publisher also revealed characters will ‘be armed with the latest cache of weapons, ammo types and recipes from the most recent add-on packs Courier’s Stash and Gun Runners Arsenal’ as a way of adding more enticement. Unfortunately nothing was mentioned as far as price is concerned which could suggest it may end up being nearer the expensive end of the market rather than the bargain end, one thing is for sure you will be getting the extra content for cheaper than if you were to purchase it all separate otherwise there would be no point Bethesda releasing it.

Check out the trailer for yourself below, or you can check out the official website for more details regarding Fallout. Will you be purchasing the Ultimate Edition?

If you ignore a few minor bugs upon launch it would be fair to say that Fallout: New Vegas was received very well and after continual, flourishing developments, we are here to bring you more news about its latest batch of downloadable content. Now that the Honest Hearts and Dead Money DLC releases have arrive people were wondering what the game’s next lot of downloadable content will bring, today we can confirm lots of information regarding thr ‘Old World Blues’ content thanks to a recent post from WorthPlaying.

Old World Blues is set to continue on the story from a new angle. This side-story aims to show us how some of Mojave’s mutated creatures came to exist. What we also find with this storyline is that it will take place in the Pre-War research centres of “The Big Empty” which should help to explain how Father Elijah came to find most of his equipment before the story told in Dead Money.

The release date given for this exciting new chapter by the folks at Bethesda is said to be July 19 on Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC, as you would have probably guessed it will cost 800 MSP on Xbox Live or $9.99 for Playstation 3 and PC gamers.

The latest in the series of add-ons for the game will bring the gamer an even greater chance to test the boundaries of this game and push them to the limit with this new storyline and environment to explore. The user will have the chance to join forces with groups or turn their back on them which will affect the plot and the outcome of the story altogether.

There have been 5 screenshots released which show glimpses of the DLC all of which can be seen over at WorthPlaying.com (link in first paragraph), we have embedded a couple within this post but there isn’t much insight to be gained from them. It has been said by Vault (The Fallout Wiki) that this DLC in particular will enable the user to alter their character’s look and will allow you to cap your level at 30, this alone may make it a worthy purchase.

Alongside Old World Blues, the Fallout: New Vegas Wikipedia page already states that there will be another instalment of DLC in the planning stages. Thisis being dubbed “Lonesome Road” however we are not certain whether this is official as yet. This will take you back to the beginning of the game and continue a side story from here.

We think that the price seems quite reasonable considering how much you will be getting for your money, we have also been promised some new shiny new guns! Will you buy the Old World Blues DLC?

People are still wondering when the PSN is coming back online, now we can confirm that the PSN down time has caused the Honest Hearts DLC for PS3 versions of Fallout: New Vegas to be postponed until the Playstation Network is up and running again.

Xbox 360 and PC gamers have been given a date of May 17 for the release of the DLC, however the ongoing PSN problems has caused a disruption to all upcoming downloadable content. This obviously means that PS3 gamers won’t be able to get their hands on the DLC until a later date.

There is some good news, Eurogamer say that Bethesda has said that the DLC will be available at the earliest point of the PSN coming back online, we don’t know when the PSN will be back up, but at least we know that when it is online the Honest Hearts DLC should be readily available.

The effect is widespread and is affecting pretty much all DLC which was scheduled for a May release date, this is resulting in massive financial implications for game developers and published etc. Just to rub salt in the wounds you can see the recently released Honest Hearts debut trailer via this post.

Would you have purchased the PS3 version of the Honest Hearts DLC on its release date? Does the PSN outage spoil the DLC’s hype? Let us know in the comments section below.

Obsidian Entertainment has been working hard on the Honest Hearts DLC for Fallout: New Vegas since it was announced by Bethesda, now the developers have released a trailer to promote the new content which will arrive on May 17.

The video does not tell you much about what you will be doing or how the story is going to unfold, however it does a nice job of showing us the surroundings and some of the characters we will meet along the way. The lack of details keeps us guessing about what will take place in the Honest Hearts DLC, perhaps another video will be released to clarify things more.

As this is the debut trailer we are keeping a watchful eye out for any more videos to come from the guys at Bethesda. As this one stands currently, the reception from the viewers on the YouTube site is very positive, one comment suggest that they have spotted an M1911, Special Svc. Rifle, a new shotgun, a new melee weapon and a few armor types in the video. Out of all of this people seem most excited about the M1911.

The video can be watched below and will show you the first public glimpse of the new downloadable content. Tell us what you think of it. Do you think it looks good enough to purchase or will you just stick to playing the main game?

Some of you may remember the article we wrote last month, about the recent rumors that had surfaced suggesting that a new DLC pack was on its way for the Fallout: New Vegas game. If you did read the article, you will be aware that the rumored title for the upcoming DLC was Honest Hearts.

We can now tell you that the reports are no longer rumors, as according to Johnny Cullen at vg247.com, Bethesda has recently revealed both dates and details for the forthcoming DLC. It wasn’t just the upcoming Honest Hearts DLC pack the publisher confirmed details for either.

They also revealed details for the Old World Blues and Lonesome Road DLC packs as well. The Honest Hearts pack is the first downloadable content to arrive, with the launch date down as May 17th on Xbox Live Marketplace for Xbox 360 and PC, and May 18th on the PlayStation Network for PS3.

The Honest Hearts DLC takes place in Zion National Park in Utah, where players will find themselves caught up in a battle between tribes. The Old World Blues and Lonesome Road packs will release in June and July respectively, and will be available for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Old World Blues sees players as a lab rat in a science experiment that’s gone wrong, while the Lonesome Road pack brings the courier’s story to an end. You can read a little more about the DLC over on vg247.com. Will you be downloading the new Fallout: New Vegas DLC packs?

Earlier in the week Fallout New Vegas for Xbox 360 was given a new patch to fix some problems within the game but ironically, people started to report even bigger problems with the new patch once it had been downloaded. Therefore Bethesda has released an updated version of the patch to counter these problems.

VG247 said the 1.3 patch that was released caused problems when loading games and also crashed the game which didn’t please most gamers and so with enough negative feedback, we have another patch to fix the original patch which claims to eliminate these problems.

The update on the game’s official message boards read this morning, “New 360 update is now available for the English version of the game, and with it, your saves should now load properly. When other versions become available, we’ll let you know.”

If you were having problems with the previous patch you should power up your Xbox 360, sign in to Xbox Live and launch New Vegas and the patch will be automatically downloaded and install.

We are not sure if there are more updates coming from Bethesda but be sure to keep an eye out on their forums. Did the new patch help you at all?

When a developer releases a new patch for its video games, it’s meant to sort out issues and not create them, but that doesn’t appear to be the case with the recently released Fallout: New Vegas patch. In fact, many Xbox 360 gamers have reported problems since downloading it.

According to Fred Dutton over on the eurogamer.net website, many players have posted on the Fallout: New Vegas game’s official forum, stating that they have either been experiencing regular system crashes or have been unable to load saved games since installing the new patch.

One poster said that they had settled down in front of their Xbox 360 to play Fallout: New Vegas, only to have the game freeze on them. Another forum poster said that the latest update had wrecked their game, and that it wouldn’t load up their past saves.

However, a post on Bethesda’s Twitter page acknowledged the problem that Xbox 360 owners had been having, and insisted that a fix was being worked on. The publisher said that they are currently working with Microsoft, and that they should have more information on a fix soon.

Have you been experiencing any problems with the Fallout: New Vegas game since installing the new patch?

If you play Fallout: New Vegas on your PC you may have noticed that a new update was recently rolled out via Steam, we now have a full breakdown of changes that patch 1.3 brings and believe me there are a lot to get through.

Rather than list all of the changes we will just point you to the full breakdown, if you head over to SteamPowered.com you can see exactly what will have changed once the patch has been installed.

There are lots of changes to guns, explosives, energy weapons, perks and melee weapons, apparently all SMGs, the Assault Carbine and LMG have increased accuracy, also the SMG now has increased mag capacity and pretty much all explosives will see increased damaged and radius.

Patch 1.2 for Fallout: New Vegas was released back in early December therefore patch 1.3 has been a long time coming, many believe that a lot of changes have been rolled out to prepare New Vegas for Honest Hearts DLC, perhaps we will hear a release date for this downloadable-content pretty soon.

Check out the full list of changes for yourself and let us know what you think about Obsidian Entertainment‘s refinements, have they missed anything? Have the changed ruined certain aspects of the game? Let us know in the comments section below.

Although there will be a lot of you that purchased the Fallout: New Vegas game when it was first released back in October last year, there is no doubt some who have still not got around to it. If you are one of the few that have not bought the game as of yet, we may have some interesting news for you.

According to a recent article over at vg247.com by Stace Harman, a Fallout: New Vegas Game of the Year Edition for the PC has just been spotted over on the Amazon.co.uk website recently. The Game of the Year Edition – which was listed as available for pre-order – has been priced up at £20.62.

Unfortunately we don’t have any package details, pack art or information on a release date at this stage. However, if it is in keeping with other GotY editions, the Fallout: New Vegas Game of the Year Edition will most likely be released after all the individual DLC packs have been launched.

There has only been one DLC pack (Dead Money) released for the popular action RPG title at this stage, with another three rumored to hit at some point. The second DLC pack – which according to Jamie Pert is supposedly called ‘Honest Hearts’ – is due to be released any time soon.

Are you pleased to hear about a Game of the Year Edition of Fallout: New Vegas?

If you were a big fan of Dead Money, then this news is sure to excite you, Fallout: New Vegas is expecting another add-on to continue the story of the game and rumors are circulating from various sources that suggest the new DLC will be called ‘Honest Hearts’

Eurogamer reports that the rumors come at the hands of three screenshots that were taken from a private video on Youtube which display signals towards the next add on to the series. The video was apparently removed from Youtube completely, maybe to be displayed at a later date?

The screenshots show a man swinging a spiked club at another human being (the gender is undecided), a “rocky vista” (as described by Eurogamer) and what appears to be the Honest Hearts title screen. An attempt was made by Eurogamer to scoop some information from Bethesda however they recieved “No Comment.”

This does not yet certify that Fallout: New Vegas will receive an add-on called Honest Hearts, however tit is looking pretty likely. Whatever the outcome, we will be sure to keep you updated on the situation.

Will you buy the next add-on for New Vegas?
