OK, so you might have guessed that it is Fable III that is a bit of a let down, as the stories are now starting to look their age. One would have assumed that the creators would have added something fresh, but they seem to have let us down. IGN has only given it a 6 out of 10, which to us is a bit of a flop. However, we should never take one persons opinion, although some of the comments coming in do seem to support IGN’s review. The worrying thing is, the C version is said to be better than the Xbox 360 version.

Fable III for the PC scored 8.0 for the sound, but was let down poor gameplay and no lasting appeal. As we mentioned above The Witcher 2 scored much better, with Bitgamer giving it 95 percent out of 100. The developers seemed to have made the game less complex while also managing to fix all of the flaws from the first game.

There are some games like this that are too afraid to punish you when you get things wrong; not this game though. If you make a mistake you will know about it. Overall it is easy to tell which is the better game of the two, but do you share in these findings?

When speaking in an interview with website Beefjack, lead engine coder for the game Don Williamson revealed the news that is likely to be met with considerable frustration those of you with the Xbox 360 version of the game. Here is what he had to say:

“Because our artists originally authored their assets at such a high quality, removing the limits that the Xbox 360 imposed upon us immediately made the game look better (on PC). The main benefit to a PC release is to be able to see the world of Albion realised at such a high resolution.”

He also mentioned that the PC gamers will get to use a ‘fantastic 3D mode’ as well, which is another plus for the PC version of the game. The game releases on PC today in America, while it will be available everywhere else including UK and Australia at the end of the week.

The Xbox version has now been out since October, but we are told that the PC version of Fable III will be worth the wait, as it will be far superior compared to the video console version. So, it looks as though the wait will be worth it, but what of those preorder offers we mentioned above?

For those who choose to get Fable 3 through Games for Windows Marketplace, then Fable: The Lost Chapters will be yours for free with preorder. However, those who wish to choose Steam will get Rebel’s Weapon and Tattoo Pack. It is not a hard choice, but we love how The Escapist puts it, “a free game on GFW or some throwaway crap on Steam.?

We now have a bit of good news for those of you that were hoping for it to launch on PC, as Microsoft has finally confirmed a release date. According to Mike Jackson over at computerandvideogames.com, Fable 3 will arrive for the PC on May 17th in the US, and May 19th in Australia, New Zealand and Europe.

Microsoft recently detailed some of the changes that will be found in the PC version, including the same content found in the console version, the Limited Collector’s Edition2 digital content such as a brand new quest, outfit, region and dog breed and a PC-only hardcore mode offering a higher difficulty level.

As Jay Acevedo from gamefocus.ca recently reported, PC gamers will also be able to take advantage of the full 3D functionality, which has been made possible thanks to NVIDIA technology. Xbox 360 gamers will soon be able to download the “Traitor’s Keep” DLC pack, which will arrive on Xbox Live on March 1st.

You may remember one of our previous reports which told you how you could submit your problems to Lionhead directly, and now it looks like they have been listening to you.

As VG247 reports, you’ll be pleased to know that the issues related to framerate within the game will be addressed, as will spawning issues and corrupted game saves which some of you had complained about.

Here is a list of changes which are coming in a Title Update:

- General gameplay progression and spawning issues
- Sanctuary map and audio functionality
- Isolated corrupted game saves
- General performance surrounding Orbs, audio, frame rates and other features

As reported from VG247, the page has been set up specifically for players to let rip on any bugs, glitches or general game problems that they have experienced whilst playing.

It is likely that Lionhead will study the list of problems, especially those of the same nature that mount up, and add it to their list of problems that need to be addressed in a future patch update on the Xbox 360. We wrote our own problems thread after the game was released, and so far we have had over 100 comments with users explaining their problems with the game.

Sadly there is no release ETA for the patch update, but at least you can rest assured that Lionhead are working hard to get it out asap.

The ‘official’ reviews for the game were pretty good, although you can argue that it is the gamer’s true opinions which matter the most. We’ve been doing these ‘user review’ threads for a while now, and Fable III is another game to get the same treatment.

We know that some of you have been having problems with the game as detailed in our lengthy issues thread, but it looks like the majority of you are loving the game.

As far we’re aware, some gamers have been having problems trying to get the Village Maker DLC to work with the game, but we understand that the problem has now been fixed and it is working as normal.

We’ve had a look at some of your feedback on the net for the game, and you’ll be pleased to hear that the only problems we’ve read about is a few issues with framerate, which obviously isn’t a major problem.

It is a stark contract to Fallout: New Vegas which has been plagued with problems since the game went on sale last week, but early signs are good for Fable III.

To take advantage of this glitch, the process is fairly simple. All you need is an additional controller for someone so they can jump right in to the main characters current game. This will then give the player an infinite amount of money to use in the game (999,999,999) plus all gifts that you can get in Fable III.

To do this, the person in charge of controller 1 needs to load their game. Grab the second controller, and log in to any offline profile, then use the start button to jump into the already loaded game.

From here, controller 1′s character must move to the whereabouts of controller 2′s character and press LB on controller 1 to send them gifts.

Controller 1′s character will then teleport to the Sanctuary, and upon arriving they should see a blue bag to their right. They must then deposit all their money in the blue bag and return to the main game.

Once controller 1′s character is back from the Sanctuary, press start on controller 2 to go to the Sanctuary and walk over the the blue bag of gifts given by controller 1. But here is the important part, when the controller checks the gift — REJECT IT.

Go back to the game and Leave by pressing the DOWN-D-Pad while facing controller 1. Press Start to go back again.

Switch to controller 1 and check the gifts pedestal given by controller number 2. This should give you the money/gifts etc you need and you can repeat this to get you to the maximum amount of 999,999,999 Gold. But be aware, if you exeed this amount, the game will freeze.

When you begin the game you have to make the choice of who you will want to play, a prince or princess. Do you remember the hero from Fable 2? Well you are the child. Nicholas “bapenguin” Puleo from Co-Optimus has written an informative review, and even before he gets into his stride points out that the game is more “an adventure game and less like an RPG.”

There are many changes in this new version, such as no longer collecting orbs, but gaining points towards Guild Seals. The next change is hunting all the time for weapons or armor; this is not as important any more. However, there are some special tasks that you need to use certain weapons for, just remember that the weapons and armor that you start with will be with you throughout the game.
