A few weeks ago we told you that EMI had just announced that it was in fact turning its hugely popular Now! That’s What I Call Music franchise into a video game series for the Nintendo Wii. Although we were able to name a few of the artists that will be featured in the upcoming game, we were unfortunately unable to provide details on the songs that would be included.

That is until today anyway!! According to a recent article by James Batchelor over on the mcvuk.com website, the full track list for the Now! That’s What I Call Music: The Game has now been unveiled. The game will now only feature 20 songs that gamers can both sing and dance to, it will also contain 5 ‘dance-only’ tracks and 5 ‘singing-only’ songs.

The singing / dancing track list includes songs such as ‘All Night Long’ by Alexandra Burke, ‘Happiness’ by Alexis Jordan, ‘Ridin’ Solo’ by Jason Derulo, Eliza Doolittle’s ‘Pack Up,’ ‘The Club is Alive’ by JLS, Flo Rida’s ‘Club Can’t Handle Me,’ Lady Gaga’s ‘Born This Way,’ ‘Cooler Than Me’ by Mike Posner, ‘Mr. Saxobeat’ by Alexandra Stan and ‘Price Tag’ by Jessie J.

If none of the above tracks appeal to you, then you might be pleased to know that it also includes ‘Changed the Way You Kissed Me’ by Example, Ne-Yo’s ‘Beautiful Monster,’ ‘Dynamite’ by Taio Cruz, ‘Whip Your Hair’ by Willow Smith, ‘Only Girl’ by Rihanna and ‘Written In The Stars’ by Tinie Tempah. The ‘Dance-only’ tracks include ‘Louder’ by DJ Fresh and ‘Bounce’ by Calvin Harris.

The other three ‘dance-only’ tracks are Yolanda B. Cool’s ‘We Speak No Americano,’ ‘Dirtee Disco’ by Dizzee Rascal and ‘Barbara Streissand’ by Duck Sauce. As for the singing-only tracks, these include ‘All Time Low’ by The Wanted, ‘When We Collide’ by 2010 X-Factor winner Matt Cardle, ‘She Said’ by Plan B, ‘Please Don’t (Let Me Go)’ by Olly Murs and ‘Billionaire’ by Travie McCoy featuring Bruno Mars.

Will you be buying the Now! That’s What I Call Music: The Game?

If you thought that there were already enough music video games available for the Nintendo Wii console, I’m afraid you’d be mistaken. We’ve already brought you news about the announcement of the Just Dance 3 game and the upcoming Black Eyed Peas Experience, and now we have discovered that EMI has recently announced that it’s turning its popular Now! That’s What I Call Music franchise into a video game.

According to a recent article by Michael French over on the mcvuk.com website, the multinational music company has recently signed new publisher Tubby Games to turn its popular music compilations into Nintendo Wii games. The very first dancing and singing title will be released this November, and will join other music video games such as Just Dance, Michael Jackson: The Experience, Just Dance and We Sing.

The 2011 game won’t be the only title in the series either, as EMI – who has apparently been keen to branch into music video games for quite some time – has several Now! games planned. The publisher Tubby Games is led by the team that originally worked on 2004’s PSOne and PS2 dancing hit Dance:UK. Key executives include MD Tracy Johnson, strategic director Neil Meredith and developer Broadsword.

When speaking to MCV about the upcoming title, Neil Meredith said that they have the right license, the right developer and the right tracks. The game itself is being aimed at the Nintendo Wii’s family audience, and will include ten songs each for both singing and dancing. The first game in the series will include recent hits from artists such as Tinie Tempah, Dizzee Rascal, JLS, Rihanna, Example and Jessie J.

The game will also feature 5 bespoke hip-hop dance tracks. Although we know the names of some of the artists included in the first release, we don’t know which of their songs will be included. The latest move from EMI will of course be watched closely by other firms such as Nordic Games and Ubisoft, as their titles (We Sing series and Just Dance series) and spin-offs have redefined Nintendo Wii music games.

MCV research recently showed that more than one million dance-related games are sold worldwide every month. Meredith went on to say that Now! is an evergreen title that will hold in the charts over time. The publisher has had a postitive reaction from retailers already, and has high expectations of the Now! title across Europe and the UK. What are your thoughts on a Now! game being released?

Rumors of Apple launching a new music service with cloud storage intensified last month when the company purchased the iCloud domain. Now it looks like the Apple iCloud service is incoming following deals which have been done with major record labels.

Bloomberg are reporting that Apple has now reached agreements with three big record companies. The deal will allow users to access their song collections from mobile devices via the internet according to sources. The new iTunes service will allow users to put more content onto Apple’s servers and gain access to it via the web, instead of saving the music straight onto the device.

It is thought the service is to be announced at next month’s WWDC event which begins on June 6. Similar services have already been launched by Amazon and Google, but Apple’s service won’t need users to upload online music collections.

Many believe that record labels are looking to cloud services to rejuvenate sales of digital music which have slowed recently. So far Apple has allegedly signed up with EMI Group, Sony Corp, and Universal Music Group. Apple will also need to agree deals with music publishers which have different rights than the labels.

Will you use an Apple iCloud service?

News of a new signing for Europe’s popular music streaming service Spotify could see it one step closer to a U.S launch. It’s the second signing this year showing that it could happen very soon.

Last month the subscription based music service was reported to have signed a deal with Sony Music, and according to Business Insider only needs two more major signings to be able to compete in the U.S.

Having already signed two of the biggest labels in the world it just leaves, Warner Music Group and Universal Music as major labels left to sign. Spotify would need to sign these as Sony already have a music service in the U.S, Music Unlimited which includes all four of the major record labels and there is also Rhapsody.

As Slashgear reports Spotify has around 750,000 customers currently subscribed and paying and over 10 million using the free trial. Apple’s new fees for subscription and the fact that the U.S charge high royalty fees, means Spotify have a lot of adjusting to do.

What do you think to the new signed deal between Spotify and EMI? How do you think Spotify would do in the U.S? Let us know what you think.
