Alison Lohman Replaces Ellen Page On Drag Me To Hell

We told you yesterday of Ellen Page’s departure from the Sam Raimi Horror Drag Me To Hell, and today it’s been reported that Alison Lohman will be her replacement. Sam Raimi’s done a fabulous job with the replacement, I love Alison Lohman!

Drag Me To Hell tells the story of a young woman who has a supernatural curse put on her and all hell breaks loose! With Lohman in the picture, shooting can begin on March 31st, only two weeks behind schedule.

Ellen Page Decides Against Going To Hell: Star Drops Out Of Sam Raimi’s Thriller

Star Drops Out Of Sam Raimi’s Thriller

Since the phenomenal success of Juno, Ellen Page has become Hollywood’s golden girl - and rightly so! In the aftermath of the Oscars, Ellen was inundated with lots of film offers and, like anyone would, she agreed to many of them. However it seems Page has had a change of heart and has walked away from Sam Raimi’s supernatural thriller ‘Drag Me To Hell’.

The reason behind Ellen’s departure is said to be scheduling conflicts and with many movies, including ‘Peacock’ and Drew Barrymore’s ‘Whip It’, it’s understandable - we don’t want this girl to be worn out!

Ghost House and Mandate, who are backing the project, have said in a joint statement,

“We were racing to start production so that we could accommodate Ellen’s schedule. But like so many other productions trying to start before the potential SAG strike date, this one needed more time, and we had to push back the start of production.”

It’s a shame to see Ellen walk away from this one - she was great in Hard Candy so we expected her to be awesome in Raimi’s thriller.
