Usually you may be a bit skeptical on the authenticity of leaked box art some 5 months before the game releases, but we can tell you that the origin of the box art actually surfaced from the official Xbox website.

According to their listing, below is the image which could turn out to be the final retail box, as reported from Lost Generation Gaming. You can view it at the bottom of the text.

As you can see, Bethesda has gone for the simple, but effective approach – and we have to say we like what we see. They could have chosen to go down the over the top route, adding dragons, some landscapes, the main character and so on, but we’re loving just the plain logo with very little else going on.

Also, the Skyrim box art is very similar to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, so that puts further strength behind the image. Take a look for yourself and let us know your thoughts on it. Are you a fan of the simple box art, or would you have liked to seen something with a bit more character and detail?

Bethesda has unveiled the biggest reveal for the upcoming RPG yet, and also confirmed that the game will feature a minimum of 300 hours of gameplay content. Executive Producer for the game Todd Howard has been showing off the game in various media presentations and private screenings, with the latest one coming via G4TV which we’ve added below again for you to check out.

If you played Oblivion, many of you thought that game would not be matched, but Skyrim running on it’s brand new physics engine looks to have put a swift end to Oblivion’s reign. The upcoming Skyrim will no doubt intoduce many Fallout players to the franchise as well, but the best thing about this upcoming game due out on November 11th, is that it’s starting to turn heads of those who have never even played an Elder Scrolls game.

We’re talking about those players who are usually just concerned about Call of Duty and Battlefield releases every year. We think you would find it extremely difficult to find a majority of gamers who do not have a good thing to say about the current state of Skyrim. We too have been reading all of your messages saying how amazing this game looks, we wonder how many of those played Oblivion and how many are just general gaming fans?

You may think that Modern Warfare 3, Uncharted 3 and Battlefield 3 are going to be the ones to look out for this year, but we say otherwise. We’re willing to bet that Skyrim ends up the most popular game of 2011 and future awards will prove it. Get your pre-orders in now folks, because it will be the best money you’ve spent on a video game this year.

We previously told you some new information related to new dragon shouts, confirmed factions so far and much more, but now it has been reported that Skyrim will feature a staggering 300 hours of content.

Don’t forget 300 hours is just the standard content time. You can probably add another 100 hours on top of that for those of you who like to take time leveling up, completing tasks, minigames and so on. Oblivion was another epic game with hours and hours of playability thanks to added quests and DLC, and it looks like Skyrim is set to follow accordingly.

The information has surfaced from NeoGaf forums, and a supplementary report over at GamingEverything also contains some more information on the game related to melee attacks, a high levelled dragon shout and new details on doomstones.

What are your thoughts on the potential 300 hours of content offering? – Would you be satisfied with this? At the end of the day, players are definitely going to get their money’s worth with 300 hours of content plus any extra quests and DLC content.

Hopefully Bethesda will confirm this for us at E3. Give us your thoughts if you are planning to pick up the game.

The screenshots have come directly from a recent showing of the game over at Utah, in which game director Todd Howard previewed the latest build of the game at a press event. VG247 were at the event, and they are the ones who have uploaded the new screenshots for you to enjoy.

There are eight in total, although you may have seen one or two of them before. We’re guessing you definitely havent seen the shot of the Khajiit class though, and the image gives you a great idea of just how impressive models look in Skyrim using the new engine, compared to say the Khajiit models in Oblivion.

Further screenshots also show the Orc class, and some breathtaking visuals featured in one of the game’s towns. There’s also a nasty looking giant spider which you’ll have to contend with in-game, although we’re not sure if this is a boss or just an average foe you’ll come across whilst exploring.

Firstly, fans of Oblivion will be pleased to hear that the enchanting ability will once again be featured in Skyrim. If you dont know, this allows the player to create magical spells to be equipped onto any weapon, armor or accessories. It was one of the main abilities in previous games so I personally am pleased to see it’s coming back.

On to something new, and we can tell you that one of the new magic abilities is called Dragon Shouts, as detailed over at GamenTrain. As most of you will know, Skyrim will introduce dragons into the game, and killing one in game will allow you to capture it’s soul. Once you have acquired a soul, you can use it to unlock ancient codes that are present in various dungeons in the game, and then once you’ve done that you’ll then get to use the new ability – sounds interesting.

Another great thing about Oblivion was the freedom that players had away from the main storyline. We’re hearing that Skyrim will feature something known as the ‘Radiant Storytelling system’, which will change up gameplay dramatically based on the actions and options you choose for your player. This method obviously keeps the campaign unique to the player, unlike using the same formula over and over which gets boring over time.

What are your thoughts on the new information? Obviously, the most exciting part is the info about these Dragon Shouts. Hopefully we’ll have some fresh details on this particular aspect soon – who knows, maybe even a video if you’re lucky. You can view the listing on the Marketplace website here if you’re interested, and it confirms that the download will weigh in at 137MB so it won’t take long at all for those of you with speedy internet connections.

The trailer itself is pretty breathtaking, not just for graphics, but the soundtrack as well. It may even bring a few goosebumps as well when the familiar Elder Scrolls theme kicks in after the long narration build-up – I’m not saying it happened to me by the way!

The video gives you a first look at character models, towns, a few landscapes and also the introduction of dragons into the game. Hopefully Bethesda will give a proper reveal of Skyrim at E3, as it now looks likely that we won’t get another reveal during GDC 2011 which is ongoing as we speak.

Well, we’re pleased to say that the timer has now reached 0, and the first trailer is available to view over at the official website here. We must say that we had problems getting into the Elder Scrolls website, obviously due to fact that everyone else around the world is trying to do the exact same thing at the exact same moment – ah, you have to smile at a good old website crash don’t you?

As for the trailer – wow. We knew that Skyrim was going to be something special, and Bethesda certainly haven’t disappointed. There is plenty of gameplay action to see here – dragon slaying, landscape views, town environments, a wonderful flashback from Oblivion crossed my mind when I saw this.

The trailer is accompanied by an epic soundtrack, with the same theme that most of you have probably heard online. The clip is just under 3 minutes in length and certainly leaves you wanting more. We’re praying that Bethesda has some sort of reveal planned for GDC which starts soon – they cant’ just leave us hanging until 11.11.11.

That’s because the developer has now started a countdown on the official website for Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and they have confirmed that when the timer reaches 0, the world will get it’s first glimpse of some actual gameplay footage – boy we can’t wait!

If you head to the website now, you see that aside from the ongoing countdown, there is the opportunity to download a wallpaper for your PC or Mac computer, although you may want to get a more exciting background than the image shown.

After the amazing game in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, we really hope that Skyrim delivers. In a way, we can’t really have too many complaints if Skyrim doesn’t turn out as good as Oblivion, as the game in my opinion is one of the greatest RPGs of all time. Just as long as Skyrim is there or there abouts will be good enough for us.

If you head over to GamesAbyss, you’ll see them mention that Bethesda has already announced a new game engine, with reports suggesting that this engine has been tailored for use in ‘large open worlds’, which would obviously suit the likes of Elder Scrolls V perfectly – assuming that the game will be as big as Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.

Here is a passage from their article: ”With the announcement of a new secret game engine, it seems that a new Elder Scrolls is on its way. According to sources, this new game engine works best for large, open worlds, which only further confirms Elder Scrolls imminence.”

GamesAbyss has also added some gameplay elements which they would like to see revamped for the new game, which includes information on the combat system, character models, menu User Interface, and Weapon Degradation.

Hopefully Elder Scrolls V will be released sometime next year. I was definitely a fan of Oblivion, and I have total faith in Bethesda that they will deliver a game as good, if not better than ES IV. If you are a fan of the series, let us know your thoughts on the news.
