To continue their flair for producing exotically beautiful motorcycles, Ducati has released the 848 EVO. The EVO will replace the 848 and with 140 horsepower will also be the most powerful middleweight supersport bike money can buy.

In order to reach this kind of power Ducati has reworked the 848′s engine, with redesigned port shapes in the new cylinder heads, along with reworked cams and altered timing. Higher compression is gained through new piston crowns. Larger throttle bodies and two oxygen sensors, bring the engine performance up into the realms of some bigger capacity bikes.

With the extra performance Ducati has seen fit to upgrade the already excellent brakes, with the addition of a steering damper. Weight however stays the same at 168kg. As is the norm with Ducati’s, the frame is coated in bright red with black wheels and red bodywork, there is also the option of ‘dark stealth’ with a ‘racing black’ frame and wheels.

So to sum it all up you get a tuned Testastretta Evoluzione 140bhp engine, produced at 10,500rpm with 72.3lb-ft of torque. All this is then wrapped it one of the most gorgeous bodies available, what more could you possibly want?

For 2010 Ducati has brought us the Hypermotard 1100 EVO SP, and what can you say other than it looks like it wants to take you into a corner and give you abit of a kicking.

As with all Ducati’s the spec list is impressive featuring Marzhocchi forks with Ohlin’s rear shock, Brembo brakes and sticky Diablo SuperCorsa SP tires. The 1100 V-twin produces 95hp with the optional Termignoni end cans supplying the sound track. For all the EVO SP’s speed and mean looks it is said to be quite reasonable for comfort and refinement.

The styling is typical Hypermotard with a pointing front fender and short tailpiece it’s definitely something to look into when spending $14.995 on a new toy.

However the question is will it tempt the diehard sports bike fans onto something a little bit different? What are your thoughts?

Check out AutoBlog for the full test.
