When Zynga released Draw Something none of us were prepared for how popular the app would turn out, and since so many people have completed the social drawing app the Draw Something sequel was only a matter of time because some details have now been leaked.

Draw Something 2 has now been confirmed on Twitter since Ryan Seacrest tweeted an image that came from Zynga themselves, along with the new logo for the app as well. It seems as though Seacrest is after trying out the new version first seeing as though he has been approached to host a show based on the app.

For those who have never played Draw Something, it’s a little like Pictionary, so can often become frustrating. We are certain that there will be some of you out there wondering why the app needs a sequel when it would be just as easy to update the current version. However, because so many people got bored and deleted the app it makes sense for OMGPOP to start over.

Since Zynga took over from OMGPOP it makes sense for the Farmiville creators to try and work their magic and make Draw Something 2 as popular as the first. They may have a tough job on their hands since the original was only flavor of the month for a few weeks.

Zynga has a chequered past with sequels, because while Farmville 2 has proven more popular than the original, the same cannot be said for Cityville 2, lets hope Draw Something 2 is more like the former then.

The latest Draw Something update is one of the biggest changes we’ve seen yet with the popular mobile app, which allows you to draw something that another user has to try and guess, and brought with it a simplified UI that has met mixed reactions among users. The application has become so popular that musicians, celebrities, and even politicians have posted their drawings online since its launch.

Now it looks like Windows 8 will also get the popular Draw Something app once it releases this Autumn, and is reported to be a time exclusive deal for the Nokia Lumia phones, which should last around 2 months. Zynga has also worked out a deal for Words with Friends that will appear on Windows 8 as well this Autumn, and these two apps alone will allow users to enjoy Scrabble with Facebook friends and also a game that is very similar to Pictionary.

The deal is a no brainer for Zynga as they will reach even more consumers with an army of Windows phones planned over the coming year, and these two key games should be welcomed by those people planning on buying a Windows Phone or Nokia Lumia. At the time of writing the Windows Phone market place has over 100,000 apps and is growing daily. Do you think Draw Something could attract phone buyers to a Windows Phone, or will it take much more than a couple of apps?

Are you planning on buying a Windows Phone over the next 12 months?

This month we have seen the popular Draw Something words app receive an update to its user interface, which after a quick play we noticed to be cleaner and easier to use. The addition of more words to choose from each game is also a welcomed improvement, and while we don’t need all the additional languages this is sure to please some people. It’s not all plain sailing for the developers thanks to the latest Draw Something update, v1.7.14 on iPhone/iOS, currently having a lower rating than previous versions.

New Draw Something update upsets thousands of users – It seems that some users hate the new Draw Something update and layout, which includes complaints of the font being smaller and a bit harder to read, plus some features are unneeded like seeing the game score right away for each player. Other complaints talk about the speed of drawing is too fast now, and also separating running games into different sections for their turn and your turn has not pleased certain users.

There are other issues with giving access to information but most complaints surround the new UI, fonts, and iOS users are wondering why the basic layout that worked needed to change. We do wonder how many people requested this new UI, and would love to know your thoughts on it? Do you agree with the lower rating, or is this just a small percentage of people that hate change?

Do you need help with Draw Something, and has this led you to look online for some sort of word solver? Another trend we have seen with Draw Something is the need for cheat words, and has led to an increasing number of people looking for a list of words online, which can lead to users finding services that offer a Draw Something letter unscrambler. We’d also love to know what you think about cheats that like to find an advantage over other players, is it fair game?

Draw Something is becoming one of the dominant apps on mobile devices and if you haven’t tried it yet, you don’t know what you’re missing. The developers of the popular drawing app have just released an update for the iOS version of the app, finally bringing support for sharing and saving those brilliant, or awful pictures.

Prior to the update, the app didn’t have an official way of saving pictures and annoyingly, the picture would disappear within a second before you had the chance to admire it. Now, with version 1.5.14, you can save your picture after drawing it, and also share it to your Facebook or Twitter space if it is deemed worthy of sharing.

Another nice little addition that we have spotted is that you can now leave a comment on pictures drawn by your opponent. You’ll have to be quick though as the option disappears after a second before automatically switching to the next round. It’s clear that these changes are designed to enhance the social communication amongst users when using the app and according to an article on The Guardian, more changes could be on the way.

For example, we’re hearing that the developers may include some tasks for players to complete when they reach a certain level. For example at say level 25, you only have a certain time limit to guess the drawing, or at a higher level there would be extra barriers in place which make it more difficult to pass.

I’ve just tried out the new update and I’m a little miffed that I’ve just lost my Ice Cream colors after logging in to Facebook with the app to see the changes. So there’s a little warning for those of you that are playing without Facebook – logging in will erase all of your current data with friends, including any colors that you have earned. At least you get five new bombs though, so that’s not all bad.

How do you like the new update on iOS folks? Are you completely addicted to Draw Something at the moment?
