Apparently when BioWare launch Dragon Age II DLC on Xbox Live, PSN and Steam it will address some of the comments which fans have provided, this applies to both core fans and new fans of the franchise.

Sadly no interesting details regarding this DLC were revealed, however Ray Muzyka, BioWare’s co-founder, seemed to suggest that in order keep the franchise going forward they must listen to their consumers, this has us excited about what the game’s DLC will bring.

Dragon Age 2 arrived back in March and since then no downloadable content has been released, there have been some bonus items which pre-order customers could download, however in terms of extra chapters in the campaign etc there has been nothing, therefore we are sure that there are a lot of Dragon Age fans out there who can’t wait for DLC to arrive.

First of all, the Champion Gloves can be attained at the beggining of Act 3 once you have become the champion of Kirkwall by defeating Arishok.

Secondly, to gain the chestpiece, you need to go to Hightown during the day and find Hubert (who stands in the centre of the market), talk to him and he will have a quest for you. Upon accepting his quest you must go to The Bone Pit, where you will have to slay a high dragon, after this you can loot it and you will find the chest piece.

Next are the boots, for these you will need to go to The Gallows, you will need to speak to the templar and knight commander who can be found in the templar headquarters. You will need to accept the “On The Loose” quest and when you encounter Huon you must defeat and loot him.

The last item, the helm, can be found in the following quest “Best Served Cold”. You will encounter a mage called Grace who you will need to kill and then loot to acquire the final piece of the armor.

You may need to spend a little time getting through the story first to reach some of the challenges so patience is key here. Anders is a mage who we first saw in Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening, he is pretty laid-back and uses his magic to help people you can find out more about Anders here. Aveline Vallen is a human warrior and is one of Hawke’s companions, you can find out more about Aveline here.

Bethany Hawke is Hawke’s younger sister and Carver’s fraternal twin. Bethany is a mage who only appears in Dragon Age II, you can find out more about her here. Carver Hawke is Hawke’s younger brother and Bethany’s sister, Carver specializes in Two-handed weaponry, find our more about Carver here. Fenris is an elf warrior who can be a romance to Hawke or a companion, for more about Fenris check out this link.

Isabela is a romance option or campanion for Hawke and appeared in Dragon Age: Origins, more can be found here about Isabela. Merill returns to the game as an elf mage and a companion to the elf warden, here is some more info about here. Sebastian Vael is available with The Exiled Prince DLC and is an archer, more info on him here.

Varric Tethras is a dwarf who encounters Hawke in Dragon Age II and also narrates parts of the story. Go here for more about him. Finally on the page there is ‘Dog’ (the default name of a Mabari war hound), he is the Hawke family dog and is a minor fifth member who is summonable, you can find out a little more here.

Unfortunately, you won’t be able to read these reviews right now, as they are both taken from respected gaming magazines, but you can at least stand relieved that both publications have given the game an excellent review, in case you were having doubts about whether to buy Dragon Age 2 or not.

The first comes courtesy of PC Gamer Magazine, and they have given the game a 94% rating, labelling it ”the best RPG combat ever ”- which should give you an indication on just how good this game is.

Out on PS3 and Xbox 360 as well as the PC, we also have a review score from PSM3, who have awarded the game a 90% score out of 100. They have stated that the excellent combat system in the game, as well as the freedom which the player is given are particular highlights of Dragon Age 2, as reported by CVG.

The two items awarded for the reply to BioWare‘s ‘Call to Arms’ will be ‘The Far Cliffs of Kirkwal’ which will give players money when read and ‘Lothering’s Lament’ which will give players more XP when read. It seems like a no brainer for enthusiasts really, get downloading the demo February 22, get some friends to do the same and we have bonus items in-game.

BioWare plan to track the number of downloads by keeping a record of all the EA profile’s that sign in to the demo, this way you can be sure that you will be counted once and not recounted if you redownload the demo (just in case any enthusiasts were planning it).

It all seems like a very cunning plan to spread the word about the game and hopefully attract more gamers into playing it for the first time, however we also like to think that it would be a waste of time and money for the developers to create something and not put it in the game just because 999,999 people answered the call and the rest of the world weren’t listening, however whats the harm in going along with it.
