JoyStiq has been looking more into this latest news from Game Informer, and has learned that Valve is to update its Steamworks system; this will be custom to the game. However, one new feature that we believe will be of benefit to the player is how there is to be a new in-game coaching system, which even comes with voice chat.

That and a host of other new features should help to make DotA more appealing to a larger audience to RTS games. The one drawback is the fact that there is still only one map, but new match types should be added at a later date.

Valve knows that one of the most important areas to update is graphics, so you can understand why Valve has hired a huge art team? There is no definite release date yet, all we know is it will be some time in 2011.

Changelog 6.68b had already solved a few bug issues, but did not go far enough. Some of those that the previous version fixed included the Techies Remote Mines, Arcane Boots had been restored, Wisp cannot teleport anymore, and other minor issues.

There has been a lot of feedback from Dota users, who seem happy with the two previous updates. They have spent some time with the game and now seem willing t share their thoughts. I thought I would have a read at a few of the comments, I was lost – I suppose you need an understanding of the game to work out what it all means.
