3D TV is becoming more popular. We have previously brought you news of 3D glasses from Marchon3D which are designed for those people who wear prescription lenses. Now we have news of another 3D glasses range this time from Dolby.

The company previously had produced a pair of 3D glasses in 2007, when they revealed their Infitec color shift technology. Now they will take advantage of the upcoming CinemaCon 2011 next week to announce their new line of 3D glasses.

The new pair produced for theaters is sure to please viewers as they are cheaper than last year’s pair of reusables which were $17 and $27.50 the year before. This year’s pair is just $12. Unlike the Marcchon3D ultraclips they are not prescription designed however Dolby claim they will fit over 98% of prescription glasses.

They are lighter with a redesigned frame designed to block out more extraneous light than before and a new multilayer optical film. They are also compatible with home HD TVs unlike competitors like IMAX who focus on big screens and cinemas.

More details can be found by clicking the link above which will take you to the Dolby site and a full specs list can be read. What do you think of these 3D glasses from Dolby? Let us know in the comments below.
