Logging into the Google homepage after 12am in your region will bring up a rather fancy Gillespie-inspired graphic.

For those of you who are not familiar with the guy, he is considered to be one of the main developers, if not the main developer of bebop and modern jazz. He also taught and inspired the likes of other famous musicians such as Miles Davis and Fats Navarro.

For those of you who have recently studied music at university or college, you’ll no doubt have been taught about Dizzy Gillespie and his achievements in Jazz, while for the older generation, it is going to be very refreshing to see companies like Google remember his legacy for all to see.
