Hauppauge to be Apple TV rival

Hauppauge will be the new rival to Apple TV in a collaboration with DivX. It is based on the DivX connected platform that was seen in the D-Link player that Pocket-lint reviewed last year.

The player will allow users to deliver media from their PC and the Internet directly to their TV in their living room; it will also allow high definition videos to be viewed.

The player can also be used to stream video, photos and music which will be stored on a local hard drive and the consumer will also be able to access internet services. It has also been announced by Phillips that they have extended their current two year agreement with DivX.
