When we removed the device from the box, what we were met with was a frame with a plastic matte black finish, this makes the item look a little on the cheap side. However, do not despair as the frame can be removed and replaced with one that matches the décor in your room. The frame can stand on its own or if you remove, the stand can be hung on the wall.

The first thing that you will need to do is to plug the Sungale Wi-Fi Touch Screen ID800WT Digital Photo Frame into an AC outlet for power. To get started you just have to press the power button on the rear of the device, after around 30 seconds the device will be ready to go.

The first thing that we did was set up the network setting, this was very easy to do and we were connected to our network in no time. We had hoped that the touch screen feature would be a great addition, but we had to press the screen a few times to enter our command.

After being switched of one or two times the touch screen now works much better on the main part of the screen, but we still have hassle when trying to turn the sound up and down, as this command is right at the bottom of the screen. No matter how we try to place a finger or thumb on the command, the device just does not want to turn its volume up or down correctly.

Sungale have certainly tried to put everything in once place with its ID800WT photo frame, and the Wi-Fi allows it to gain access to the Internet for some cool features. These include Gmail, Picasa, YouTube, Internet radio access, news and weather. As for the weather features, this will only work for the U.S. as it asks for a ZIP code, there is no choice for a postcode if you live in the UK, or just a manual search for where you live, just a thought for the next model.

When you switch the photo frame on and then just leave it, the device will load up a series of images that comes pre-loaded on its 512MB of internal memory. If you wish to view, you own images there are a number of ways that you can do this, from images that are stored on any device on your network, a USB flash drive, portable hard drive, or SD/MMC/MSXD/CF card.

I decided to take my memory card from my camera and see what my images were like from a recent air show that that I went to see. On the screen, it asks what storage I would like to view my images from, internal or the SD card. The digital photo frame then tried to access the images on my card, but then it said that it could not support the resolution that my pictures had been saved at.

My camera is a 12-megapixel Canon PowerShot SX200 IS, and I have set it to the max as to get the best images possible. This is a simple fix, as all you need is a small free program that will edit all photos at the same time, just remember not to change the original images.

My final thoughts of the Sungale Wi-Fi Touch Screen ID800WT Digital Photo Frame is mixed, I was disappointed with the trouble that I had with the touch screen and the frame not supporting my images. There are some great things to say about the frame though, what images did show up were excellent quality, and the weather widget is great, as long as you live in the U.S.
