We all know how fast technology can move, but who would have thought that there would be an 80 megapixel camera sensor? Well there is, but it comes at a price. The Phase One IQ180 is from the same company who gave us the Leaf Aptus-II 12, and we can expect the device to start shipping in April for a massive $43,990 – told you about the price.

You might wonder why we would want such a device and who would pay the price? CNET News believes that companies who deal with fashion model shoots will want the Phase One IQ180, as well as IQ160 and IQ140, which are on the cheaper side and will be launched just one month later.

CNET’s Stephen Shankland believes that this camera device will not have things easy, as there are many competitors, such as Nikon and Canon. These sensors are smaller, but this has not stopped either company from increasing its “Customer Base”, and they certainly have loyal fans – myself being just one of them.

For those who are interested then you can visit the Phase One website to sign up for a demo of digital camera backs in action. The touch screen size is 3.2-inches and allows you to zoom in and out on the subject. Sensor+ technology has also been used; this will help to give you higher ISO sensitivity. So you do not have long to wait, but we would like to know if you would part with that much money for this technology?

There is a lot of choice out there these days when it comes to digital cameras. All of the major camera manufactures have a vast range of equipment available for all budgets and needs. Nikon have always been regarded as one of the top companies producing quality DSLR’s, but are also producing some good compact digital cameras.

TechReview Source have recently tested the Nikon Coolpix S8100, and found the smart looking compact can easily be slipped into a purse or pocket. Offered in a variety of colors, the 12.1-megapixel camera has an advanced CMOS sensor and a 10x optical zoom. Round the back you will find a 3-inch LCD display with 921,000-pixel resolution.

One thing that could be cause for concern is the battery, it is only rated for 210 shots and there is no battery indicator on the LCD display. This could prove to be a problem for some owners. Media storage that is supported by the Nikon is SD/SDHC/SDXC cards. Actual image quality with the Coolpix was very good, and returned above average results.

Cnet have also been testing the Nikon Coolpix S8100, but they found the camera to have only average shooting performance, with its design the only thing to be above average. The cameras sensor does allow for better low-light images compared to the model it replaced. For the price level which is around the $250 mark, the S8100 was found to be one of the better compact cameras’ to be tested.

Whenever an electronics company sticks the Ferrari name to a device you know that there will be a premium to pay, and Hasselblad H4D Ferrari Edition Camera is a fine example of this. You can now purchase this limited run camera for the price of €21,499, tax has to be added on top as well.

Hasselblad believes that this is the new generation of camera, and is designed for those who want the best image quality from a shot – it will need to deliver if it has the iconic Italian Prancing Horse logo on it. There is to be only 499 units made, not certain how quick these will go, but you had best get your order in – just in case.

So what makes this camera stand out from Hasselblad’s other models? Well Dpreview points to the fact the most obvious, that famous color and the badge. As for the hardware, you get a 80mm lens (bumping the price up a few more (Euros) and a dual layers.

To try to justify that price you get a specially handmade case, no doubt in Ferrari colors as well. One feature that is worth a mention here is Hasselblad’s Phocus Quick software, making it much easier for you to take those fast action shots – even a Ferrari F1 car going past at over 200mph. For those of you looking for an alternative, then maybe you should consider the Hasselblad H4D-31 or CFV-50?

Do you think that Hasselblad H4D Ferrari Edition is worth the price?

IFA 2010 will be held in Berlin, Germany from September 1st – 7th and ViewSonic thought that they would beat the rush by offering us a preview of their 3D portable devices that they will be showing off at the event. We wonder if IFA will be mostly about 3D technology as CES 2010 was?

ViewSonic certainly means business and has a nice range of 3D devices that will be on their stand, but what can we expect? The first device is a 720p 3D camcorder, not sure what features it will have, all I know is that it comes with a $300 price tag.

However, according to a press release sent to Engadget, it will have the same glasses-free 3D display as the Nintendo 3DS has. Other 3-D devices that will be on show also include a portable TV, camera and photo frame.

However, the biggest news has to be the new ViewPad 7, which is a 7-inch Android tablet. Not certain how well it will do with the news that the Samsung Galaxy Tab will also be at the event?

What are you looking forward to the most during IFA 2010?
