If you are patiently awaiting the glorious arrival of Diablo 3 on console, we have some great comments from Blizzard this week for you to take into consideration. Diablo 3 on PS3 has obviously been a long time in the making, but Blizzard has insisted that part of the long development time is solely due to the fact that they didn’t just want to release a lazy port of the PC version.

Instead, Blizzard has taken their time and have explained this week that Diablo 3 for the PS3 has been created solely with the controller in mind. Because of this, the developer has also revealed that the game won’t support keyboard and mouse input via USB, since all of the game’s menus have been significantly altered to cater towards a controller experience.

One of Blizzard’s senior designers, Matthew Burger has even gone one step further, telling OPM that keyboard and mouse on the PS3 version of Diablo 3 ‘wouldn’t feel right’ – which gives you a good idea on just how serious the developer is taking the console version.

Another notable change for the PS3 version aside from interface is the addition of an evade command, which isn’t available on the PC version. Players will now be able to evade simply by using the right analogue stick, to which the player can then perform a dodge roll forwards, backwards, left or right.

Burger has said that this is just one of the changes between the two platforms and evade will help differentiate the fact that PS3 gamers can move around manually with their character, while PC gamers would usually point and click to move around.

Either way, it is looking like a great addition to the PS3 lineup. All we need now is a solid Diablo 3 release date on console – hopefully Blizzard will turn up and reveal this information at E3. There’s also the little matter of the PS4 version of Diablo 3, which Blizzard are remaining very silent on at the moment – will this just end up a port of the PS3 version?

If you didn’t get to play the highly anticipated PS3 version of Diablo 3 at PAX 2013 recently, you may be sweating over the fact that Blizzard has yet to give the game a solid release date. The game is on the way to PS3 and PS4, with Blizzard now dropping some pleasing information, confirming that official pre-orders for the game have now gone live.

As like any other console game, pre-orders usually come with one or two incentives and Blizzard has sent out word to ensure that one notable goodie in particular will be available for early Diabo 3 adopters on PS3. As revealed by a press release, reserving a copy of the game early will grant you access to the Infernal Helm item.

This sinister looking helmet will come in very useful indeed, as it will ensure that your character receives a boost in experience when progressing through the game. Even better, it works with all character types and doesn’t have a level requirement – making it useful at all times.

An image of the helm can be seen above, it will surely add some pimp points to your chosen character of choice and make sure you stand out among your friends. We also hear that the Infernal Helm will not be the only pre-order bonus available for Diablo 3 on the PS3. Other retailers will also be offering other goodies, but they will obviously vary depending on country and who you choose to buy with.

While it’s great that pre-orders are finally available, it is a little strange that we still don’t have a release date for the game. Is this solely due to the fact that Diablo 3 is going to be a PS4 launch title and they don’t want to give away the big date before E3?

This is the most logical assumption that we can come up with, but perhaps you have other suggestions. We also can’t wait to see what the graphical improvements will be for the PS4 version. Is it just going to be a straight up port from PS3 running via Gaikai, or has Blizzard secretly assigned another team to work on getting the PS4 version polished as well?

Either way, it is looking like an amazing month for gamers in November with the next Xbox on the way as well. Let us know if you have already played the PC version, but will still be trying out PS3/PS4 anyway to take advantage of the new control scheme.

While most of you patiently wait for Blizzard to drop a release date for the PS3 version of Diablo 3, it looks like the console version of the game may end up as the most superior. It has already been confirmed that the game won’t have Battle.net functionality, but recent previews of the game at PAX 2013 suggest that Diablo 3 on console won’t even miss this feature, due to exciting other features exclusive to the console version.

One of the these will undoubtedly be the addition of offline play for Diablo 3, a feature that isn’t available on PC since the game has an always-online requirement. This is a huge deal for prospective console players as it effectively means that we won’t see a repeat of the server errors that troubled PC users, or indeed queues trying to get into servers which is evident across the border for Sim City players.

Aside from an offline mode, a recent preview compiled by Kotaku argues that using a console to play Diablo 3 is even more convenient than the traditional keyboard and mouse system used down the years on PC. They have managed to play the game during PAX 2013 and have boldly come out with the following conclusion:

“Diablo III feels much, much better on a controller than it does on a mouse and keyboard.”

They’ve also said that the fact that Blizzard is developing the console port in-house, rather than a third-party developer, means that the game is going to be well worth the wait, since there isn’t a release date for the game yet other than ‘coming soon’. A PlayStation 4 version is also in the works of course, but there’s still a repeated silence on whether the game is due on Xbox 360 as well.

Another big talking point about the console version is whether the popular online auction house will be supported or not. We can tell you now, that there will not be this mode on the PS3 version of the game unfortunately. However, Blizzard has confirmed that there will be a way to trade items with other players, using the in-game menu that will work both offline and online.

A new video released above gives you a fantastic idea of how the game is shaping up on PS3 and it’s fair to say that it is looking fantastic. If you previously were unfamiliar with the franchise, this clip alone should tempt you into a purchase when the game is finally out.

As a PC owner who is still playing Diablo 3 regularly, are you bothered that all of the love from Blizzard is now gearing towards the PS3 version?

The computer gaming industry has been at its hem from the time of its inception. The majority of both kids and adults are crazy about these games. Last year the gaming fanatics had more than one reason to rejoice. A number of brand new PC games were introduced to the market; also a number of games were updated from their older versions. Thus, one could say that there are a larger number of cool PC games that got introduced last year than in many years preceding it.

During the entire first half of 2012, gamers were really flooded with brand new options of games to choose from. There were several big budget games and each of them was grand successes, since their release had been planned very well, not to clash with each other. “Call of Duty” was one of them. It had also a successful year for autonomous gaming titles that in other years would have filled in the gaps during a sluggish release schedule.

This article discusses some of the most popular games to be played on one’s PC. Each of the game discussed below have an appeal of its own on an international basis and the majority of PC gamers across the world are crazy about them.

Trials Evolution – The latest Trial Evolution game is the very best excite-bike game. One would need to believe this when they say that no other game could manage such a great framework for the feats of the outstanding bikes. No game available presently has been able to match this in my opinion. This game is basically a follow-up to the Trials HD that came in 2012. This upgraded version has multiplayer options, track creator, and also offers a learning curve that improves on its predecessor.

You can see the official website for Trials Evolution here, or watch a video trailer for DLC 2 below this article.

Diablo III – For twelve years there has been a long drawn break and now the one of its kind grind root and level-up RPG was back with a bang in the world of PC games. With its comeback Diablo III can be said to have met fair success to regain its seat as the most popular means to amuse you in the leisure hours. If one takes a look at the game, it would be apparent that a number of advanced features have been incorporated into Diablo 3. This game is enough to keep oneself engaged for hours. Thus, it is time to go and get the Demons once again!

Every single cinematic released with respect to Diablo III have been awe generating. The standard of the gameplay is now more polished and hence very satisfying. You can read about the Diablo 3 1.0.7 update in this article, Diablo 3 on the PS4 and some details regarding cross-play, or see the “What is Diablo III?” video below.

Fez – An apparent look at the latest Fez is just like a PC puzzle game at its truest sense. The best part of this game is however the fact that one can interchange the point of view from which they are looking at the 2D game, so that they can reveal newer tracks or hidden doorways. The newest rabbit hole is a great addition. It is often regarded as the most mind-boggling game of the whole year.

We have included a video review of Fez for Xbox Live in the third video below, so take a look and let us know if you’ve played any of the above games.

If you are pumped up about the upcoming PS3 and PS4 release of Diablo 3, then we have some important information to share with you, details that will actually be pretty disappointing for veterans of the franchise. It has been confirmed that there are no plans to allow PS3 or PS4 gamers to play their version of Diablo 3, with the existing PC community who are already playing the game at the moment.

Cross-platform play remains an elusive barrier to overcome it seems, and it doesn’t look like the arrival of the Sony PS4 is going to change that trend soon. We saw Valve initially announce that Counter-Strike: Global Offensive would feature cross-platform PC play with the PS3 version of the game, only to remove it shortly afterwards.

Now we see a similar pattern with Diablo 3, although this looks to have been in the thought process of Blizzard the whole time. When speaking on the official forums, community manager for the game Vaeflare has said that currently, there are no plans whatsoever to allow cross-platform play between PC and PS3/PS4.

Furthermore, Blizzard has also said that characters on your Battle.net account and characters on your future PSN account will be separate from one another. This creates another potential disappointent, in the fact that we could now see a PlayStation version which ships without the Auction House or Real-Money Auction House features seen on PC.

Another important nugget of information to digest is that there will be no keyboard or mouse support on PS3/PS4, as Sony’s version is being developed to make use of the DualShock controllers.

What is your reaction to the news? Will you be disappointed if there is no Diablo 3 Auction House on the PlayStation versions of the game, or is it actually a blessing in disguise for those that have experienced it on PC?

We have some good news for Diablo 3 players now, as it looks like Blizzard are ready to go live with another sizeable update. Patch 1.0.7 is almost due for release and to prepare players for the update, Blizzard has detailed an extensive list of changes referencing new features and of course the collection of bug fixes that each update brings.

The update isn’t ready quite yet though, but will be going live on the Diablo 3 Public Test Realm (PTR) very soon according to the Diablo 3 official website. Amongst the list of changes coming, the 1.0.7 will introduce Dueling to the game that will allow players to take on other different players in a variety of game areas in the free-for-all battle format.

There’s also going to be some main improvements to two of the game’s classes, in this case the Monk and the Wizard classes. Wizards will now get a damage buff to certain skills, while Blizzard adds that Monks will see a ‘big damage buff’ to all Spirit Spenders in the game.

Don’t forget that to test all of the new features out before everyone else, you’ll need a PTR account which you can get by heading to the Diablo 3 landing page within the Battle.net account management area. Bear in mind though that any progress you do make on patch 1.0.7 when it’s released in the PTR, will not transfer back to the main live servers for the game.

You can read the full patch notes here to get a detailed insight into what is coming with the next update. Let us know if you’re still a regular Diablo 3 player and what features you would like to see rolled out in 2013 to keep you from moving away to a new game.

Are you still holding on to the exciting thought of playing Diablo 3 on home consoles? If the answer is yes, then you’ll be very interested to hear some of the latest comments from Blizzard, who have just confirmed that a build of Diablo 3 is already running on consoles behind closed doors. Blizzard obviously hasn’t mentioned what console they are referring to though and with the industry preparing itself for the imminent arrival of next-gen PS4 and Xbox ’720′ systems, Blizzard may even be plotting to make Diablo 3 a launch title for the next gen instead.

It is no secret that developers are already in possession of next-gen dev kits. We have already seen numerous leaks stating that developers have gotten hold of the next Xbox system which is being codenamed ‘Durango’ and if that is the case – then Blizzard may also be in possession of one of these kits and have wasted no time in trying out Diablo 3 on the system.

It has been the dream of many gamers to play Diablo 3 from the luxury of the sofa and it looks like Blizzard is going to make this a reality in the near future. Rob Pardo from Blizzard has been speaking to Polygon in a recent interview when he confirmed that there are already working builds of the game on console.

It would be a surprising decision if the game still released on the Xbox 360 and PS3 if next-gen consoles are out towards the end of 2013, but then again – there are still many big name titles that are still being announced for current gen.

Dark Souls 2 is the most recent one that springs to mind, as that is another game which many gamers wouldn’t mind seeing on next-gen consoles instead. For now though, it is scheduled to release on current gen consoles and Blizzard may also decide to drop Diablo 3 on the Xbox 360 and PS3 as well.

If you had the choice though, would you prefer to see the game on current consoles, or would you prefer Blizzard to spend extra time updating the visuals to make Diablo 3 on next-gen consoles something special indeed and arguably more impressive than the PC version?

Has the Diablo 3 hype train already ended, or is it one game that you would still love to see on the PS3 and Xbox 360 along with the likes of GTA V and The Last of Us?

If you thought the first Castlevania: Lords of Shadow game was great, then you’ll be delighted to hear that a sequel is apparently on the way. Featured on console last time around, we’re also hearing that Lords of Shadow 2 will be extended to other platforms, including an exciting PS Vita version as well.

The first game was well received, picking up countless positive reviews from critics and ending up with a user Metacritic score of 8.2 which obviously isn’t bad. A potential sequel has now come out of nowhere though, as the PaulGaleNetwork is reporting that this game is indeed a reality, and aside from PS3, Xbox 360 and PS Vita releases, the game will also come to the Nintendo Wii U as well.

MercurySteam is once again on development duties and additional details by Paul Gale reveal that the Wii U version may even be ‘superior’ to PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. Just to refresh your memory, Paul Gale is no ordinary rumor leaker – he was the first person to release details on the PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale. At the time he referenced the game under a codename of ‘Title Fight’ and released the first image of SweetTooth from Twisted Metal.

Obviously all of those details turned out to be true, so it looks like yet another E3 secret has been blown wide open. A console sequel to Lords of Shadow is great news, but we’re more impressed to see that a PS Vita version is in the works. How much will they be able to squeeze into the portable version from console? We have seen with Uncharted: Golden Abyss that the PS Vita can deliver console quality games in 3D, so it’s very exciting.

The first Castlevania game on the PS Vita is a mouth-watering prospect and if you have been playing the franchise since the days of the NES, you’ll know that this could turn out to be a massive game for Sony and Konami. If you played and loved the first game, let us know your thoughts on the upcoming sequel. Expect details at E3 next month.

The moment has finally arrived for Diablo fans. Diablo III is now available to buy and play but unfortunately and perhaps unsurprisingly, Blizzard is having trouble keeping their servers stable due to the sheer demand from eager players.

If you have been trying to play the game within the last few hours, there’s a good chance that you have run into a fair amount of error codes. error code 37 seems to be the one that is occurring the most frequently for players, whilst we’ve also heard that there’s a series of other error codes that is ruining your first experience of the game as well.

The good news is that Blizzard is already aware of the server problems. Aside from posting regular support updates on two official Twitter accounts, we’ve also spotted a useful thread over at the Diablo 3 forums, which explains the error codes that you’ve been getting in more detail.

For example, if you are continuing to see error code 37, it means that the server is simply full and you just need to keep trying to see if you get in later. Amusingly, we’re pleased to see that many of you are seeing the humorous side to the error 37 code. We’ve seen comments on Twitter such as ‘the hardest boss is currently error 37′ and ‘there used to be a Diablo 3 server, then it took an error 37 to the knee’ – a brilliant reference to Skyrim if you’re not aware.

If you’re having problems with error codes at the moment, head to the official forum here for some useful information. Are you seeing error 37 the most, or have you run into different error codes? Launch problems for huge game releases almost seem to come hand in hand these days – Diablo 3 is definitely the latest victim.

2011 was a great year for gamers, games such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Gears of War 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Uncharted 3: Drakes...

2011 was a great year for gamers, games such as The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Battlefield 3, Gears of War 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception, Portal 2, L.A. Noire, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Batman: Arkham City, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword and Bastion sold wonderfully and gave even the fussiest of gamers plenty of options to choose from. Today we thought we would look into the most anticipated games which will almost certainly arrive in 2012 and also give you the point of views of some top game developers.

Currently people seem most hyped about Grand Theft Auto 5, and rightly so, previous games in the series have received great reviews from critics and earned multiple ‘Game of the Year’ accolades, but if you think it’s going to be a one horse race think again.

A recent article over at EuroGamer is an interesting read, here we get a chance to see what games game developers are looking forward to, luckily they don’t mention their own upcoming titles – which means we get a true representation of what will be hot in 2012. This allows us to build upon our article back in October which was titled: ‘Best game of 2012, GTA 5 most anticipated?’.

Greg Kasavin at Supergiant Games is most looking forward to BioShock Infinite and Matthew Prior from EA Sports agrees, whilst Ivan Buchta from Bohemia Interactive can’t wait to get his hands on Dishonored as he thinks it will be very imaginative. Lee Perry from Epic Games is most looking forward to Mass Effect 3 and David Jaffe from Eat Sleep Play is most looking forward to Darksiders 2. Craig Duncan at Rare is most excited about Kinect Star Wars (which surprises us, but perhaps he is just looking forward to seeing Kinect being used for a more serious game genre), whilst Dino Patti from Playdead and Geremy Mustard from Chair Entertainment are keen to see how good a job Team Ico’s developers do with The Last Guardian. As you would imagine GTA 5 didn’t go without a mention – both Peter Molyneux from Microsoft Game Studios and Stewart Gilray from Just Add Water think this is the game which they want the most.

As you can see the opinions are pretty mixed, but one game came up more times than any other, this is Diablo 3. Ken Levine at Irrational Games, Richard Garriott (the creator of Ultima) and Brad Muir from Double Fine were looking forward to this game more than any other, the good news is that beta testing seems to be going well so Blizzard Entertainment should be able to stick to the Q1 2012 release plans.

Games which didn’t receive a mention include the next Call of Duty installment, Far Cry 3, Max Payne, Hitman: Absolution, Halo 4 and Final Fantasy XIII-2 – what games are you most shocked not to hear mentioned?

For years I have been looking forward to Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, but I must admit that I have spent so much time waiting I have lost my enthusiasm, also Ubisoft hasn’t done much of late to build the anticipation for the title, so I guess my most anticipated title of 2012 is a toss up between GTA 5 and BioShock Infinite – how about you?
