The popular FPS game from Eidos Montreal, Deus Ex: Human Revolution has enjoyed a lot of success since its release, even managing to top the charts for a short period of time. Now it is about to get a DLC expansion pack called The Missing Link, which adds extras to the campaign mode of the main game. It is due for release on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 on October 18th and will cost North Americans $14.99 or 1200 MS points, while in the UK it costs just £8.99.

UK PlayStation 3 gamers will have to wait an extra day before they get to download the extended material. The download is reported to have over 5 hours of extra gameplay by VideoGamer, so it is very good value for money. It features new added depth to conspiracies, new characters and new environments.

It picks up with Adam Jensen having been missing for three days finds himself on a freighter heading towards an unknown destination. Turns out that he has been tortured by Belltower agents and as a result has had his augmentations disabled. Players must escape the vessel whist building his augmentations from scratch, using only Jensen’s basic capabilities to begin with.

Whilst exploring the ship, stealth must be used in order not to alert the enemies to the player’s presence. Players will also need to team up with new allies in order to defeat the enemies and uncover what has been going on during what happened in the main Deus Ex campaign.

Embedded below we have trailers, the first of which introduces the DLC, picking up at the torture scene. The other two are walkthroughs of the DLC, guiding players through what to expect and how to approach the game. Will you be downloading the extra content for Deus Ex: Human Revolution?

With Deus Ex: Human Revolution set for a North American release later this month, August 23, you might be wondering whether this game is worth buying, well recently we found out that PCGamer has already reviewed the game and it resulted in a score of 94/100.

Currently the review has not gone public, however if you buy the next issue of the PC Gamer magazine which arrives on August 3 you will be able to see it in full, apparently it was awarded an Editor’s Choice award and a statement says that Deus Ex: Human Revolution is “A game that puts almost everything else in the genre to shame”.

Over the years there have only been a handful of games which PCGamer has scored higher than 94/100, these include Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri, Half-Life, Half-Life 2, Civilization II, Company of Heroes, Black & White, Far Cry, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. As you can see there is no shame in being less impressive than the aforementioned games, to put 94/100 into some context here are some other games which received the same score from PCGamer: Freedom Force, Deus Ex, Diablo II, Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos, Baldur’s Gate, Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II, Doom 3, Age of Empires II: The Age of Kings, Empire Earth II, Battlefield 2, BioShock, Sid Meier’s Civilization IV, Far Cry 2, and Portal 2.

As you can see Deus Ex: Human Revolution seems to be joining an elite list of games, however we must remember that different critics may not be quite as fond of the game as PCGamer is, the best thing to do is buy the August 3 issue of the PCGamer magazine and check out the fully detailed eight-page review for yourself. As this is the first time a game in the series has hit PS3 and Xbox 360 we expect a massive improvement when compared to 2003′s Deus Ex: Invisible War and 2000′s Deus Ex, especially in terms of visuals and multiplayer elements. Also as it has been roughly 8 years since PC hardware got its hands on Invisible War it will be interesting to see just how good Human Revolution looks with DirectX 11, we can’t wait to see!

If you’re a Deus Ex fan and you just happen to have a Facebook account, then I think we have news that could be of interest to you. It appears that video game developer Eidos has recently launched a Facebook awareness campaign for the much-anticipated Deus Ex: Human Revolution game.

As Trung Bui over on the gamerant.com website recently noted, the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Facebook campaign involves people clicking the infamous ‘Like’ button, in exchange for a number of media assets. As more and more people ‘Like’ the page, the more things will be unlocked.

This includes behind the scenes footage for the upcoming game, as well as new videos and artwork. Unlike the Battlefield 3 Facebook campaign (which required a total of 1,000,000 likes), the Dues Ex campaign is starting off a bit more realistically and is asking for just 50,000 likes for the first phase.

As of yesterday, the Deus Ex: Human Revolution page had a total of 17,768 Likes and one item had been unlocked. The first item unlocked was concept art for the Belltower Spec Ops NPC. Each unlock contains a specific icon to describe the next item that will be released.

The next Deus Ex game is due to arrive in stores on August 23rd, and will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Have you liked the Deus Ex: Human Revolution Facebook page yet?

Just yesterday we brought our readers information on both the minimum and recommended PC system requirements for the long-awaited Duke Nukem Forever game. Now we have some more PC system requirements, only this time it’s for the Dues Ex: Human Revolution game.

If you’re one of the many PC gamers that are thinking about buying a copy of the Deus Ex: Human Revolution title, then you might be pleased to know that the PC system requirements appear to be fairly reasonable. In other words, you don’t need to have a state of the art computer to be able to run it.

According to Tom Senior at pcgamer.com, the minimum PC specs include 8.5GB of disc space, a 2 GHz dual core processor, an NVIDIA GeForce 8000 series or ATI Radeon HD 2000 series or above graphics card, Windows 7, XP or Vista with DirectX 9.0c and 1GB RAM (Windows X) / 2GB (Windows Vista/7).

However, the recommended PC specs include Windows 7, 2GB RAM, 8.5GB disc space, an AMD Radeon HD 5850 graphics card and an AMD Phenom II X4 or Intel Core 2 Quad or above processor. The Dues Ex: Human Revolution game is due for release in August this year for the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Were you thinking about purchasing the PC version of the Deus Ex: Human Revolution game?

We have some rather interesting news now for those of you that are thinking of buying the much-anticipated Deus Ex: Human Revolution, as Square Enix has just announced that the first-person role-playing game is receiving a very special – and extremely limited – ‘Collector’s Edition.’

However, as Pete Davison over on the gamepro.com website recently reported, the ‘Collector’s Edition’ will only be available for those that live in Australia, New Zealand and select European countries. Unfortunately there is no news at this stage on which retailers will be selling the special pack.

The upcoming ‘Collector’s Edition – which will go on sale on August 25th in New Zealand and Australia and August 26th in Europe – includes a 40-page art book, a ‘highly collectible Adam Jensen action figure’ and a new mission that features a cameo from an original Deus Ex character.

Those who purchase the ‘Collector’s Edition’ will also receive a selection of in-game weapons, a motion comic that’s adapted from the official DC comic series, a 44-minute ‘making of’ DVD and a 30-minute soundtrack. Square Enix says that the special edition will be extremely limited in quantity.

This of course means that you’ll have to get in there pretty quick if you want to buy it. Does the Collector’s Edition sound appealing to you?

We have a bit of exciting news now for those of you that are waiting for the much-anticipated Deus Ex: Human Revolution game – which was finally given a release date recently – to arrive, as we’ve just learned that a brand new gameplay trailer has made its way online.

According to a recent article by Lydia Sung over on the neoseeker.com website, the latest Deus Ex: Human Revolution gameplay video is almost eight minutes long and features narrative from designer Mary DeMarle, who guides us through the game’s very first mission.

The trailer does in fact reveal the new multipath gameplay, hence why it is almost 8 minutes long. The video shows Mary playing the mission three times, in 3 very different ways. This feature enables the main character to tackle any situation in a few different ways.

Whether you prefer a more direct approach when playing games or you’re a bit of a stealth fan, the Deus Ex: Human Revolution game will definitely accommodate your preferences. The game will be available for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows.

You can view the new multipath gameplay trailer below this post. Are you looking forward to playing the Deus Ex: Human Revolution game?

Last week, Jean-Francois Dugas – designer of the Deus Ex: Human Revolution game – posted a message on his Twitter page, to say that a release date for the much-awaited title would be announced this week. We can now tell you that the wait is over, as a release date has finally been revealed.

As Martin Robinson over at uk.pc.ign.com recently noted, EB Games Australia has just revealed an August 25th release date for Eidos Montreal and Square Enix’s impressive looking action-RPG. This points towards a possible U.S. release date of August 23rd.

UK retailer GAME has also gone live with a release date of August 26th. The Deus Ex: Human Revolution game, which is in fact the third instalment in the Deus Ex video game series, was originally scheduled to release on March 8th (today), but the publisher Square Enix unfortunately delayed its launch.

The company has since confirmed the release dates, and are said to be making an official announcement sometime later today. The game looks as though it will be worth the wait however, as everyone who has had a chance to sample the game has had nothing but good things to say about it.

Do you think you will be buying the Deus Ex: Human Revolution game?

The news is in and we can grant you information that a release date for the eagerly anticipated third edition to the Deus Ex series is coming. The game’s director, Jean-François Dugas tweeted: “Of course! The release date will be announced next week! What about that! ”.

The news has prolonged the suspense of many fans since the game’s idea was announced in 2007, where many fans are still waiting for any official news of its release, however the majority are happy enough to wait another week in order to find out.

We can tell you that the game will be available for Windows, Xbox 360, Playstation 3 and the OnLive system and will be the prequel to the first game. It is set 25 years before the original and before the development of Nanotechnological augmentations, instead biomechanical augmentations are the current state of the art.

One feature which has changed relates to regaining health, previously health packs were used, however in Deus Ex: Human Revolution your health will regenerate over time.

We will post the game’s official release date next week as soon as it is announced, let’s just hope that we will not have to wait too much longer, we have already been waiting almost four years!

We brought our readers some rather disappointing news back in December last year, concerning the unfortunate release date delay for the much anticipated Deus Ex: Human Revolution game. In the meantime, Eidos Montreal and Square Enix have released a new trailer and a few screenshots.

As Andy Chalk over on the escapistmagazine.com website recently reported, the newly released trailer offers fans a glimpse into the life of the game’s protagonist Adam Jensen, as well as the events that led him to become a private security officer for Sarif Industries.

Andy goes on to note that the latest Deus Ex: Human Revolution trailer doesn’t measure up to the 5-minute long trailer that was released back in December, but I guess that’s hardly surprising. According to Senecarton over at gamershell.com, Square Enix has just released five new screenshots for Deus Ex 3.

These can be seen via the gamershell.com link here. We also have a bit of news that may be of interest to those of you who love to know a game’s length. According to Jim Sterling at destructoid.com, Eidos Montreal has claimed the Deus Ex: Human Revolution game to be over 25 hours long.

After Deus Ex: Human Revolution won the trailer of the year everyone had high prospects for the game being released. We have brought you some screenshots showing you what to expect from Eidos Montreal’s latest developing game.

Unfortunately we are going to be the bearer of bad news, and inform you that this much anticipated game has been delayed. The game was scheduled for a 1st quarter release but according to Video Games Zone we will not see it until the earliest April across the Xbox 360, PC and PS3.

Square-Enix made the announcement today and the delay is partly down to a “weak sales performance of console game titles”, what we think they may be referring to is the latest Final Fantasy XIV flop. The Final Fantasy series will always have its hardcore followers, but if you start to drive them away without attracting new gamers then you have a problem.

The statement went on to say that they “have decided to spend additional time to further polish our upcoming game” referring to Deus Ex. Can Square-Enix afford another flop or will that damage their reputation too much?

Square Enix hasn’t updated the game’s official site or their Facebook page with the bad news but we, like many are hoping there will be no further delay past April.

Are you disappointed with the delay? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
