If you are looking for a laptop which boasts 4G connectivity we may have come across the perfect solution for you, this is the Dell Latitude E6420, this laptop has a high price and the 4G connectivity option is not cheap either, however we are sure that this will not bother some of you.

There are plenty of configurable options available when choose to customize your Dell Latitude E6420, the standard model features a 14-inch multitouch LED backlit display which supports a resolution of 1366×768 and in terms of performance-related specs you get the Intel Core i5-2520M (2.50GHz) processor, 2GB of DDR3 RAM, a 250GB HDD and Intel 3000 HD graphics. You also get Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit, an 8X DVD writer and 3 years Basic Hardware Service / NBD Limited Onsite Service After Remote Diagnosis. This model costs $1,284.00, however if you want 4GB of RAM instead you have to pay $1,374.00.

When we were looking through some of the connectivity options we spotted that you could add the Dell Wireless DW5800 4G mini card (with Verizon activation), this costs $249 and also requires you to sign up to a data plan, according to Engadget your plan will cost $30 a month for 2GB of data, $50 a month for 5GB or $80 a month for 10GB.

To be honest with you we were a little shocked by just how much this internal 4G card costs, especially as you can alternatively pick up the Pantech 4G LTE USB Modem (UML290) here for just $49.99. Also these days there are lots of smartphones out there will built-in mobile hotspot functionality, we think that if you use this sensibly it would work out a lot cheaper.

We done some simple calculations and if you buy the 4G card add on and sign up to the 2GB a limit a month data plan you will be paying $609.99 for a year’s access to Verizon’s 4G LTE network, this will give you 24GB of data for the year, which isn’t a lot spread across 365 days. Also if you go over your monthly allowance you get charged $10 for every extra 1GB used.

You can find out more about the Dell Latitude E6420 here, despite it being great for business we can’t help but think that there are better ways to spend your money, do you agree?

Dell recently held an event, which to many seemed like a bit of a bore, but thankfully a little gem was announced. We give you the Dell Latitude E6220, and as it has a slim and light form-factor it will be up against the 11-inch MacBook Air. The 12-inch Dell laptop looks very nice from what we can see, but we have come to expect that from the computer maker.

Engadget was able to spend a little time with said laptop and thought it funny to place their smaller MacBook Air on top, just to give us some perspective of the difference in size. However, Myriam Joire did notice that there could be an issue with the Intel Core i3 processor, as she believes that “Performance seemed adequate.” One would have assumed that Dell would have given the laptop more of a speed bump.

The main features include that 2.1GHz processor, 4GB of RAM and a choice of hard drives, not certain if it will be an SSD as standard though. You would assume in this day and age that most small laptops would come with this preferred storage method. This will not only help with speed, but also with noise levels and battery life as well.

Windows 7 is the OS of choice, cannot help but wonder how a many such as his would run with Mac OS X instead? We know that it has been asked many times before, but we can all dream right? There are no details on price or release date, but we will keep you informed. keep up-to-date by visiting the official Dell website.

How do you think the Dell Latitude E6220 compares to the 11-inch MacBook Air?
