If you are looking to buy the PC version of Dead Rising 2: Off The Record when it arrives on October 11 we have some important information for you – that’s right Capcom has announced the game’s requirements and to be honest any half-decent gaming rig should play the game without any major problems.

According to EuroGamer you need to be running Windows XP, Vista or 7 with at least 2GB of RAM, in terms of processing power you need something similar (or better than) the Intel Core 2 Duo (2.4 GHz) or AMD Athlon X2 (2.2 Ghz). To install the game you will need 8.5GB of free space and to run it nicely you will need the NVIDIA GeForce 8800GTS / ATI Radeon HD 3850 or better – obviously anything better than this will give you better frame rates etc. One important thing worth knowing is that to play the game you will need to carry out online activation, so make sure you have an active internet connection.

Lots of game retailers and services such as GamersGate and Direct2Drive currently offer a 10% saving if you pre-order the game, also if you buy the boxed version through Capcom you will get a free T-Shirt which reads ‘I Got Probed in Uranus Zone’ (see below).

It will be interesting to see how the PC version of the game compares to the PC / Xbox 360 versions, previously GameRankings.com averaged out dozens of review score and this resulted in a 81% score for the Xbox 360 release, an 80% score for the PS3 release and a 75% score for the PC – this clearly suggests that Dead Rising is more suited to consoles – but that said there is not a great deal in it.

Which platform will you choose? PC, PS3 or Xbox 360?

If you love zombie-killing games and you own an Apple iPhone, then boy have we got some great news for you!! A brand new app by the name of Dead Rising Mobile has just arrived on the iTunes App Store, and can now be yours for £2.99 ($4.99).

As recently reported by Mic Wright over at electricpig.co.uk, the Dead Rising Mobile app puts players back in control of the main character Frank West, and the game is set in the original shopping mall that featured in the very first Dead Rising title.

The great thing about the Dead Rising Mobile game is that it links to social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook. If you’re killed within the game, you can post a message on either of those sites asking for your friends’ help.

If a friend then jumps into your game, you can restart it without losing any of your experience points. However, if you don’t end up being saved, your character will then turn into a zombie and even pop up in other people’s games with your name on it.

I don’t know about you, but this game sounds pretty awesome to me. You can read more of a description over at the itunes.apple.com website. Will you be downloading the Dead Rising Mobile app for your iPhone?

In Dead Rising 2 you can combine weapons to create wicked combinations, now that the game has been released we thought we would get some feedback in regards to our reader’s favorite weapons combinations.

If you check out the Dead Rising 2 Wikia you can see a list of weapon combos, this list is a work-in-progress and currently incomplete, that said there are 50 for you to check out.

Before reading this list you should be aware that it is best to create combo once you have found the combo card, if you create a combo without the combo card you will receive a scratch card, but the weapon cannot perform its heavy attack, not only this but the weapon gains less prestige points from killing zombies.

Some of my favorites include combining a shotgun with a pitchfork to create the ‘Boomstick’, combining a bow and arrow with dynamite to create the ‘Blambow’ and combining an electric chair with an LMG or Merc assault rifle to create the ‘Blitzkrieg’.

Other popular combinations include the Exsanguinator, Driller, Fountain Lizard, Handychipper, Heliblade and the Super B.F.G, check out the source link below to find out how you can create these impressive weapon combos.

Which Dead Rising 2 weapon combos are your favorites?

Now that Dead Rising 2 has arrived we wondered what our readers would like to see in Dead Rising 3, this sequel has been pretty much confirmed by Capcom’s Keiji Inafune, as long as Dead Rising 2′s sales figures are sufficient.

According to a recent VideoGamesBlogger article Capcom want Blue Castle Games to develop the next game, this is because they believe that they worked well together for Dead Rising 2 and overall it was a very positive experience.

A recent thread on GameSpot’s forums asks readers what environment they want the next game to take place in, the most popular idea seems to be an amusement park, however readers suggest that it needs to be pretty large.

Other popular suggestions include an airport, or perhaps a city/suburb. My favorite idea is to have it take place on a luxury cruise ship, this should allow you to battle it out in a range of environments, such as restaurants, the casino, bars and even on the ship’s deck, perhaps you could throw zombies into the ocean.

The luxury cruise ship idea has one major snag, how did so many zombies get onto the ship? I’m sure developers can come up with a far-fetched idea to explain this.

GameSpot’s readers also talk about the game’s main playable character, some readers want a more likable main character, someone else suggests that the main character should be female.

Following on from our Dead Rising 2 review roundup today, we wanted to expand more on one of the reviews that looks at the Xbox 360 vs. PS3 verisons in detail, this EuroGamer article can be seen here.

If you check out the link above you can see a two page article which puts the PS3 and Xbox 360 side-by-side, here you can see identical screenshots from each platform and even a video showing framerates and general performance.

In this article we will summarize EuroGamer’s findings, on the whole it looks as if the Xbox 360 is better, shadows and lighting are far superior and the 30fps cap ensures smooth gameplay, whereas the uncapped PS3 version suffers from screen tear.

The PS3 version does cope better when there are a lot of zombies in an outdoor environment, whereas the Xbox 360 can sometimes struggle, however this is pretty much the only time the PS3 excels.

EuroGamer also suggest that the native resolution of the PS3 release is in fact just 1024×576, which has been upscaled to 720p, whereas the Xbox 360 version runs at a native resolution of 720p, this is sometime noticeable in these screens.

To conclude it seems as if the Xbox 360 version does have the edge, that said 95% of gamers probably wouldn’t notice the PS3 versions slight imperfections.

Do you own both consoles? If so, has EuroGamer’s comparison convinced you to buy the Xbox 360 version?
