We have some pretty exciting news now for all you Dance Central fans out there, as the game’s developer Harmonix has just revealed details for some upcoming DLC. What’s even more exciting is the fact that the new downloadable content will be arriving tomorrow (May 17).

According to a recent article by Clemens over on the 123kinect.com website, the new DLC contains a total of three brand new tracks for the Kinect game including “Lapdance” by N.E.R.D. (featuring Vita and Lee Harvey), “Informer” by Snow and “Fergalicious” by Fergie featuring Will.i.am.

Each song will cost you 240 Microsoft Points. For those of you that don’t already know, the Fergalicious song is the second single from Fergie’s 2006 solo album The Dutchess. Meanwhile, Informer is the 1992 song from Canadian reggae musician Snow’s debut album, 12 Inches of Snow.

Informer reached No. 2 in the UK charts, and No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the US. Finally, Lapdance is from N.E.R.D.’s 2001 album In Search Of. The Lapdance song was ranked in VH1’s 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop. We’ve embedded a trailer for the DLC below this post.

Are you a Dance Central fan? If you are, will you be buying the new DLC?

Harmonix Music Systems has announced this week that Dance Central for the Xbox 360 will be recieving four new tracks to dance to that will be available from the game’s in-game store. Tracks will be available at 240 MSP ($3) each and will act as a nice new addition to the games long-list of tracks.

The content includes pop favourite Gwen Stefani who brings her song “Hollaback Girl” to the game while Fat Boy Slim dances into the store with “Weapon of Choice”. Alongside these two is the other half of the bundle which includes Keri Hilson’s “Turnin’ Me On” and Paula Abdul’s “Straight Up”.

We think that the favorite from the line-up will be Gwen Stefani, however Weapon of Choice will be a great track to dance to as well. Dance Central developers have clearly gone for a range in this line up and have included a mixture of sounds to give something for every type of dancer playing Dance Central.

What will come next from developers is unclear, if none of these songs take your fancy, tell us which songs you would like to see in upcoming DLC, personally I think Ini Kamoze – Here Comes The Hotstepper would be a great addition, how about you?

Up until now, we hadn’t really heard anything about a sequel to the popular Xbox 360 Kinect title Dance Central 2. However, a recent survey carried out by Microsoft Game Studios appears to have revealed a list of possible features for the Dance Central 2 game.

As Steve Watts over at shacknews.com (via kotaku.com) reports, a lot of the proposed features appear to focus on making the game easier to pick up and play. For example, the survey has suggested more practice options for those of you with two left feet, and the inclusion of easier songs.

It looks like Harmonix is also considering widening the multiplayer options with the possible addition of on-screen lyrics, which will allow those who aren’t dancing to sing and score points instead. A Dance Central Store would enable users to buy new songs, dance moves and outfits.

According to a recent article by Tom Pakinkis over at computerandvideogames.com, the game could also include features such as improvements to the Break-It-Down mode, photo sharing, and the ability to share your scores via social networking sites such as Facebook.

A full list of possible features can be found over at CVG. What features are you hoping to see in the Dance Central 2 game?

Dance Central has now been out for roughly 7 weeks, therefore it is great to hear that more downloadable content has arrived, this time we have three tracks for you to check out, all of which obviously require you to own Dance Central and Kinect for Xbox 360.

The three tracks are “Control” by Janet Jackson, “Disturbia” by Rihanna and “Girls & Boys” by Blur, as you can see these tracks should appeal to a wide-range of people, you can add them to your Xbox 360′s download queue here.

Control was released back in 1986, Girls & Boys was released in 1994 and Disturbia was released in 2008, it is nice to see that Microsoft are mixing it up a bit rather than just pumping out all of the latest and greatest hits.

The tracks cost 240 Microsoft Points each ($3), in my opinion this is a small price to pay for the inevitable drunken dancing during the Christmas and New Years celebrations.

What songs do you want to dance along to when playing Dance Central?

It’s always nice to unlock as many achievements as you possibly can within your favorite Xbox 360 video games, but sometimes the achievements are nigh on impossible to unlock. I recently found a rather interesting article that you might like to read, listing the worst Xbox 360 achievements.

According to David Scammell over at gamerzines.com, the Dance Central game is a perfect example of having an impossible achievement. The Something to Prove achievement rewards you with 50G, but only if you get a 100% rating on every single song within the game’s Break It Down mode.

Unless you just happen to be the backing dancer to someone like Britney Spears, then this achievement is impossible to unlock. Another achievement mentioned on the list is Seasoned Warrior from the Quake 4 game. If you play over 5000 ranked matches, you are rewarded with 50G.

The quickest way to unlock this achievement is by playing quick matches apparently, but even doing it that way is said to still take quite some time. The “I am Bad Company” (25G) achievement in Battlefield: Bad Company is another fine example of a bad achievement.

If you achieve all the awards in online play you can unlock 25G. However, it appears that this achievement is in fact glitched. You can read the full list via gamerzines.com. What achievements have you come across that you haven’t been able to unlock no matter how hard you’ve tried?

Micrsoft’s Kinect device launched in the early hours of the morning, which we discussed in a recent post. There are only a few games available at this moment, and one of those is Dance Central. This is the first dance game where you can truly be yourself and dance like a pro – or idiot in my case.

There are two things that you need before you attempt to play this game, dancing skills or pure bravery. Whatever way you look at it, this has to be one of the best party games yet. How many times have been asked to dance against someone else and then ask who was the best? Well the the Xbox 360 game will let you know who the winner was.

IGN has now had some time with Dance Central for the Kinect, and in their review of the game said that “Central isn’t a perfect experience.” However, Ryan Clements from the website still said that it was worth the investment. The point of the game is to follow a set of dance moves, which you are then scored on. There are over 30 songs for you to dance too, but I am certain that more will follow in way of a DLC.

Before you visit IGN for their Review of Dance Central, their final verdict of the game was generally good, but the lack of features and unlocks was disappointing to them. However, the fun factor and accuracy of the Kinect system more than makes up for these shortcomings. Did you agree to the new terms, allowing Microsoft to monitor you? More on this here.

Have you tried out Dance Central, what are your thoughts?
