If you live in the US, then one of the most popular upcoming vehicles has to be the 2014 Corvette Stingray, this is because it has received an extensive redesign to the exterior but more so the interior, and has the ability to become one of the better Corvette models in years.

The excitement level for this new version is rather high, and this will surely cause demand to be more than early stock levels, which is why we expect some dealers to put a markup in the early months. Anticipation for the new Chevy has increased even more now that a new 2014 Corvette Stingray color has been leaked on Facebook.

That new C7 color is Lime Rock Green, and you can even see this new hue in a video of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray being unloaded from a truck at the Lone Star Corvette Club show.

This color choice has not been seen for several years, so it’s finally nice to see it back. Although, personally I’ve never liked the color green, even the famous British Racing Green from some classic British Sports cars.

We’ve heard over the weeks and months that Corvette fans are not happy with the new light design, but come on people, they cannot stay round forever. Let’s face it, this is a small price to pay anyway for all the other improvements, along with the latest technology beneath the skin.

If you could choose your perfect 2014 Corvette Stingray color what would it be?

A great deal of technology has gone into developing the 2014 Corvette Stingray, but it’s nice to see that GM has not forgot the fundamentals when it comes to building a practical sports coupe, and that’s giving the car three pedals and a shift stick. It’s all very well having paddles on the steering wheel to make fast gear changes, but having a vehicle with these paddles makes me feel as though the driver loses the ability to truly drive a car.

Okay, so we know that just sticking with a simple principle has already made the C7 that much better than some of its rivals, but the 2014 Corvette Stingray has also had to take some technology from the race track and bring it to the street – It’s as if that line was taken from a Fast and Furious movie.

The first video you see below helps to explain the technology used, as it’s all about the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray driving experience. From the moment you watch the video you can’t help fall in love with the sweet sound of that engine. We love how we are told that the car is doing exactly what you want it to do, which is thanks to its clever electronics system.

It’s not all about what’s under the skin, as the aerodynamics also plays such an important part, and if you watch F1 you will know just what I mean. The second video looks closely at the 2014 Corvette Stingray aerodynamics, and you will not be shocked to learn that the team of aerodynamicists they had working on the C7 has done so for the past three years.

Finally, we thought you would want to see how a 2014 Chevy Corvette C7 Stingray drifting with some awesome footage, although this has been taken from Gran Turismo 5. Okay, it’s not the real deal, but does give you more of an incentive to try it for real, once you take possession of yours that is.

There has been a great deal of hype for the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray, and for good reason, as the early signs shows that this could be the best version yet. We’re told that it has more power, improved handling, a sexy interior, and finally an interior to show off to your friends.

Is the 2014 Corvette Stingray as good as GM makes out? As with all car manufacturers they always over-hype their upcoming vehicles, but we have to say we have high hopes for the C7, as the improvements are not only extensive, but doesn’t cost as that much extra compared to the outgoing model.

What’s the handling like? There’s not long to go until the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray hits dealers, and for that reason we would have assumed there would be an abundance of reviews, but it seems as though there are not that many 2014 Corvette Stingray test-drive reviews just yet. It’s for this reason why there is still a question mark hanging over the handling ability of the C7, but the changes GM has made can only help.

In previous years we have seen Corvette’s that are quick and handle well on a track, but get them on the streets and it’s a completely different story. However, the 2014 model has compliant suspension tuning, and an improved chassis to help make the vehicle handle a whole lot better than models before it.

General Motors must believe the C7 can compete with the best of them, as they have set their sights on the Porsche 911, saying that this is their main rival. Let’s hope that you are able to experience the 2014 Corvette Stingray, as stock will be low because of high demand, along with the fear that some dealers could add a markup.

General Motors has done a pretty decent job of getting themselves out of the black hole they were in, and the popularity of the upcoming 2014 Corvette Stingray will play an even greater part in their resurgence later this year. However, there could be a little blip if the U.S. safety regulators find anything untoward with the 2005-2007 Corvette.

It seems that we could be looking at 100,000 Corvette 2005-2007 recalls in 2013 if the investigation involving recent complaints towards these vehicles hold up. According to <a href="http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20130510/AUTO0103/305100395/1148/auto01/U-S-officials-probe-Corvette-headlamp-problem"">The Detroit News there have been complaints that the headlights could suddenly stop working.

There have been 30 complaints in regards to the 2005 to 2007 Corvettes, where they have been driving along and all of a sudden they lost their low beam, and as you would expect is a serious safety issue. There was already one report where one owner was driving at night and his headlights went out and as he pulled to the side of the road, he almost hit a discarded tire.

That’s not the only incident, as other drivers have said that their fuse boxes would often get very hot, which is a reason why these lights go out in the first place. Not all 2005-2007 Corvette owners are affected by this intermittent issue, but the U.S. safety regulators will get down to the issue.

We will keep you up-to-date just in case the NHTSA issues a 2005-2007 Corvette recall.

It seems as though we have been waiting for the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray release for quite a while now, but it’s not as long as you would think. However, in that time we have learned so much about the car, and while we know General Motors has done a pretty decent job, their aspirations for the C7 do seem rather high.

The reason we say this is because GM believes the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray will be a match for the Porsche 911. We can understand why they would want to say such a thing, because the German vehicle will be the main rival of the C7, but does it have the credentials?

Whenever a new vehicle is due for release they have to set themselves a target, and so the 2014 Corvette Stingray is going after Porsche 911 lovers, which means would you prefer the noisy V8, which some say is unrefined, or is the Teutonic flat-six more to your liking?

The problem GM has is the fact that in the past the Corvette has appealed to an older demographic, whereas the 911 appeals to younger drivers. However, the new Corvette Stingray does have something different to offer, as the styling and performance is more aggressive than we have seen in the past, and so Motor Authority believes this could appeal to current 911 fans.

Over the years the Corvette Stingray has stuck with a certain price bracket, and the interior would match, but this has now changed with the 2014 model, as just a small price increase has seen vast improvements to the interior, which finally matches its beautiful styling.

2014 Corvette Stingray vs. Porsche 911, which gets your vote and why?

If you’ve ever wondered how the C7 Corvette Stingray will compare to some of its rivals, then you are in for a treat, as there is a spy shot that shows the 2014 Corvette Stingray lining up against an Audi R8 and McLaren MP4-12C. That’s not all, the new vehicle from Chevrolet is also seen testing alongside a Ferrari 458 and a Porsche 911 Carrera S.

It’s certainly a real treat to see the C7 ZR1 driving around with those vehicles mentioned above, all of which you can see in these spy photos. Seeing the new version of the Corvette next to the likes of the McLaren MP4-12C is proof that the C7 ZR1 will be no slouch, and rumors of more than 700 horsepower proves that.

Having said that, we know that cars like this are great when on less-demanding tracks, but add in more than your fair share of corners, as we’re sure the R8 and MP4-12C will show the C7 how a car should truly handle.

We do hope the 2014 Corvette (C7) Stingray will be very different, and with Chevy suggesting that the new ZR1 will have world-class performance fills us with some confidence. They are certainly building the car up, as it’s also said the new C7 will give you one of the best driving experiences from a sports car, although we do find that a little hard to believe.

Let’s say that Chevy has been able to improve the handling with their new sports car, we do hope the C7 ZR1 interior is a vast improvements, because this is a key area where they have lacked in recent years, whereas their rivals have excelled.

Personally, I feel that the Corvette will never be able to compare to the likes of Ferrari or Porsche, but when it comes to the amount of power compared to the price, the Corvette will be a tough nut to crack.

It wasn’t that long ago when we were wondering what the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray price was going to be, and a few days Ago GM made this information available to us. The best part was the fact that the price increase was less than $2,000, not bad considering you get far more for your money.

However, we also said that because the C7 will be limited to certain dealers for the first few months this could make it hard to get hold off. With this in mind Autoweek now fears there could be a substantial 2014 Corvette Stingray dealer price markup, with prices expected to be $5,000 to $10,000 more than the recommend retail price.

If I were you I would wait a few months before going for a C7, because this is how long these overinflated prices are expected to last, although this will not be the ideal solution if you are eager for one. We also fear that some people will purchase a new Corvette Stingray just so they can flip it and make a quick profit.

Not all dealers will give the C7 such a hefty markup, as there are a few who will sell at sticker price because it is the right thing to do. It seems the lure to make a quick profit will outweigh the need to satisfy their customers, which could damage future relations.

Having said that, this is nothing new because when there is stiffer competition it means it gives some dealers the opportunity to profit out of it, the question is, are you prepared to pay $5000 – $10,000 more than the sticker price for the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray?

When the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray was first shown to us we had a suspicion that the C7 would be used as the pace car for the 2013 Indy 500, and in so keeping in tradition with its predecessors. It seems as though this could be about to happen, as some leaked images have appeared on the Internet, which looks very much like proof to us.

In the images, which you can see here, you will see a blue C7 equipped with safety lights, which is just what Indy Pace cars have. You’ll notice that the appearance of the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette C7 Stingray remains the same, although if and when it does take up the new job the vehicle will be plastered with livery.

Those lights to the front and rear are a huge giveaway, and according to the source the lights mounted on the inside of the rear window could be the new setup, doing away with the traditional roof-mounted safety lights, although not too sure on that one.

We’re told that in this so-called C7 Indy test the lights were seen to be flashing in a safety light fashion. Personally I believe the 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray does have a motor sport future, and we won’t have that long to find out, as the Indy 500 kicks off on May 26, 2013.

To see how this model compares to previous pace cars, then head over to Top Speed, where they look at Corvette’s pace car history in the Indy 500.

In other news, just recently the new 2014 Corvette Stingray pricing was released, and although it was a few thousand more than the previous model, it’s not as much as we had assumed considering the updated features.

For those of you who have been waiting for the 2014 Corvette Stingray price, then you will be pleased to know that Chevrolet has now made that information available to you. However, one thing stands out to us, there is a $1,400 price increase over the 2013 coupe model and $2,395 for the convertible version, although this is pretty impressive considering the equipment upgrades.

This isn’t a huge price increase, as we have seen much higher from other brands, but it could be a tipping point for some people, if they can get their hands one that is? Because there could be a limited number of 2014 Corvette Stingray C7 models when it’s first released, we could see dealers putting a markup on the ticket price, according to Autoblog anyway.

The 2014 Corvette Stingray cost for the base couple model will be $51,995, the 2014 Corvette Stingray convertible price will be $56,995, both of which are inclusive of the $995 destination fee.

Included in the price of the base model is a seven-speed manual transmission, which will make you feel more in control of your vehicle, HID headlights, carbon fiber roof panel, which can be removed, Bose entertainment system, and much more, which you can view over HERE.

If you feel that the standard 2014 Corvette Stingray specs would not be able to compete with some of its rivals, then there are several upgrade packages available, which could run into tens of thousands of dollars, although the price would still be very similar to that of the Porsche 911 and Nissan GT-R.

The all-new Corvette Stingray release date will be sometime in the second half of this year.

Corvette has two vehicles heading to the market, both of which will divide opinion, as these cars will tug at your heart strings as to which of the two you should purchase, or if you just want to pick your favorite. The 2014 Corvette C7 Stingray and the 2014 Chevy Camaro Z/28 are perfect examples of why the automobile industry in the US is so great, as these iconic models have been through many changes over the years, but your love for them is unwavered – well most of the time anyway.

Both vehicles are a fine example of performance and proficiency on a track, but it’s great to see how these models go about achieving the same goals in different ways. We say this because when you look at the mechanical bits of the C7 and the new Camaro Z/28 they are very distinctive.

Some of you will choose a particular model because of looks, and we would hate to choose between the two, while others will want pure power from under the hood. One of these models will produce 450 horsepower, while the other manages 500 horsepower. Again, one is more of a family car with its four seats (if you can all it that), while the other is a two-seater

However, the biggest difference after the looks is the technology inside the interior, because C7 is loaded with all the latest toys, while the Camaro is discreet because it’s all about going fast.

Having said that, both the 2014 C7 Stingray and the Camaro Z/28 are built for speed, although it’s clear one has a slight edge over the other. The question is, which one will you choose?

Personally, I feel that the Stingray will win out because it’s had far more changes, while the Camaro Z/28 seems to be another recycled model, but would you agree?
