Gran Turismo 5 Prologue helps Sony PS3 sales: does the game live up to the hype

A couple of weeks back the sales figures for the Sony PS3 in Europe increased by 73 percent, however since the launch of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue last week the sales of the PlayStation 3 have increased by another 14 percent.

The release of the Gran Turismo 5 Prologue without a doubt was going to help sales figure, but it was not thought as much as this. I could not wait for this release, however after playing it a few times there are so many things that could have been done better. The online gaming is very poor, however let us hope that this problem will be rectified, no way do I want to wait a year for the full release to enjoy racing.

Remember back when we told you about Xbox 360 not getting Blu-ray (See Here), well the latest news has it that despite Microsoft attempting to crush Xbox 360 Blu-ray rumors the rumors are indeed back with a vengeance.

According to sources chatting to DigiTimes, Lite-On are developing a built-in Blu-ray Disc drives for the next generation Xbox 360 games console and apparently Lite-On are expecting to ship the BD players for assembly in the second half of 2008.

Oh and apparently the apparent smaller Xbox 360 will hopefully reduce the power supply from 210-watts to 170-watts.

I am taking this all with a pinch of salt; do any of you want to comment on the above? We are waiting.

Sony announce PlayStation Network has major security vulnerability for PS3
Details are still thin on the ground but all we know is that Sony have announced that there is a major security vulnerability with the PlayStation Network. Most of the security issues are with the Japanese PlayStation Network.

This problem could allow attackers to access your account and get hold of your personal information. However these attackers can not get hold of your credit card information, they can also change your password. So will you stop using your Sony PS3 until they sort this issue out?

Haze Update: May 22 official release for the Sony PS3 game, Xbox 360 version coming

Haze Update: May 22 official release for the Sony PS3 game, Xbox 360 version coming
It seems as if May 22 is now the release date for the much anticipated game Haze, I know that we have had release dates before but this is said to be official. This would mean that the game has been delayed for 6 months, but looking at all the trailers the wait has been worth it.

This news is not rumor as it has come direct from Ubisoft who told MCV the news about the official European release of Haze. And it seems as if Sony PS3 owners are not the only ones to get their hands on the game, as a Microsoft Xbox 360 version could be released later this year.
