It doesn’t seem like a year since the last National Coffee Day, but as usual a number of establishments have been offering free coffee today. However, what is so different is that the event has gone social for 2011, which helps to spread the word in a much better way than any other form of advertising. Below we will list some of the places that are now offering free cups of the worlds most consumed beverage.

The first is 7-Eleven, but we are afraid that you have missed the offer of a free cup of Joe, as it finished at 11am. However, if you visit Krispy Kreme, then you will be pleased to know that the offer is running all day today. The offer gives you a free cup of their House Blend coffee, but we would advise you to grab yourself one of those tasty doughnuts while you are at it.

Klatch Coffee had a number of free drinks available today, but there is currently only one left running, and that it a free cup of their Traditional Cappuccino. You had best hurry, as it is only running from 6-7pm. The final place to grab yourself a free coffee is Cafe Brazil, the good thing is, you have until midnight.

Coffee lovers have been getting deeply involved on the National coffee day Facebook page. People have been sharing their coffee drinking habits, and even letting us know what type they have been drinking today. The same is taking place on Twitter, with some of the tweets offering details on how you should drink the beverage, while the likes of Starbucks are wishing us a happy Coffee day.

For those of you in the UK who struggle to know the best place to have a cup of coffee, then we have details on an app that offers reviews of around 1000 drinking establishments – hope this helps?

A Coffee machine located in a Sainsbury’s supermarket has recently exploded, this resulted in six people being injured, however none of the injuries are said to be too serious.

The explosion happened at the Sainsbury’s supermarket located in the Kingsmead Shopping Centre in Hampshire, we are now hearing that Rushmoor Borough Council is investigating the incident.

Some of the injured were staff, whilst others were customers, apparently one 23-year-old woman was taken to a nearby hospital with head, eye and arm injuries.

The store has now reopened, however the cafe inside the store is close until a full investigation has been carried out, so far it looks as if a ruptured pipe was the cause of the explosion, therefore it is very unlikely that this will happen again.

Have you had any major problems with a coffee machine in the past, although we doubt they could be as serious as this? Let us know in the comments.
