According to Boyle111 over on the blackops.digitalwarfare247.com website, a new promotional image – which is believed to have been taken at GameStop – has recently leaked online, displaying a similar layout to the image that was previously leaked for the Escalation Map Pack.

Unfortunately the left section of the promotional advertisement appears to have been cut off, so we don’t know the name of the new map pack or its launch date. What can be seen on the image however (which can be viewed through the link above) are the names of the new maps.

Judging by the blurry image, it looks as though there will be four new multiplayer maps and a new zombie level. The multiplayer maps mentioned include Drive-In, Hazard, Silo and Hangar18. However, we do have to remember that it is pure speculation at this stage.

Although the image looks legitimate, it could still turn out to be a fake. Do you think this will be the next Call of Duty: Black Ops map pack?

Treyarch has revealed that Call of The Dead will feature four brand new characters to the zombie mode, and these four characters are actually very big names. How about playing as Danny Trejo, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddy Kruger himself Robert Englund and Michael Rooker who you’ll know from The Walking Dead.

Call of the Dead will even feature George Romero, a big name director who is considered in the industry to be the ‘grandfather of the zombie’ movies. From what we’ve heard, Romero will be a boss in the new map, and we’re presuming that the four characters mentioned above will have to take him down appropriately.

The trailer below shows off glimpses of gameplay, and it looks like you’re going to have a lot of fun with this one. We have to say well done for Treyarch for once again delivering new ideas and taking everyone by surprise with each release.

Just to remind you, the new map pack is out on Xbox 360 first, on May 3rd. There isn’t a release date for PS3 and PC yet as usual, but we’ll let you know when Treyarch announce it.

Treyarch’s information man Josh Olin has just confirmed the date via his Twitter account, and that date is March 25th. Although, those words are from the mouth of Olin himself, the official listing on Steam shows that the DLC will be available on March 26th instead – we’re guessing Treyarch has the last word though.

The price is originally set at $14.99, but if you pre-order it now via Steam, you can get a small discount and just pay $13.49 for it. Just in case you need telling again, First Strike will consist of five new maps. Four multiplayer maps – Berlin Wall, Stadium, Kowloon and Discovery and then there’s also a new zombie map too called Ascension.

The Xbox 360 has had this pack for an eternity now, and the PS3 has only just received it, but at least PC owners will be able to get in on the action this week. How many of you are going to download this for $14.99? It’s worth every penny in our opinion, as the replay value you get from five brand new maps is pretty reasonable we feel.

So just to repeat, this pack is releasing either on March 25th (according to Treyarch), or March 26th (according to Steam).

This is somewhat of a treat for you, as Treyarch never usually narrow down a release time for their DLC map packs, but we can tell you that First Strike will be available around 2am Pacific Time or 5am for those of you on the Eastern Time zone.

This was confirmed by Treyarch’s Community Manager Josh Olin, as his following Twitter message reads:

”Drops 2AM-ish, Pacific Standard Time. I’ll be tweeting all night so if you’re staying up for it, you won’t miss it! =)”

Definitely something worth staying up for then. Don’t forget that this content is exclusive for Xbox 360 owners first, as those of you with the PS3 version will get it a month later. First Strike will feature four new multiplayer maps, and also a brand new zombie map called Ascension. Treyarch hasn’t released any gameplay details on Ascension, but you should check out our previous report here if you’re looking for info, as it confirms the addition of new weapons and perks.

As for the multiplayer maps, you can check out some gameplay action here, featuring all four maps – Stadium, Discovery, Berlin Wall and Kowloon. Now that you know the estimated download time for First Strike, let us know if you are planning to stay up all night to play it or not.

To get you warmed up for the release, Treyarch has given gamers another sneak peek at one of the new maps on offer, this time focusing on Stadium, giving you some all-new screenshots of the map as well as some background information.

Aside from Stadium, you’ll also get Berlin Wall, Kowloon, Discovery and the new zombie map titled Ascension – you can read about some new zombie weapons in our previous report here.

Treyarch has done a similar sneak peek for the Berlin Wall map, which you’ll find on page two of this Intel link. It doesn’t leave them long though to reveal details on the other maps, and we were hoping for a reveal trailer for Ascension as well – is that still happening Treyarch?

First Strike is out on Xbox 360 first on February 1st, priced at 1200MS points. Let us know if you’ll be getting it or not.
