General Motors is in a very strange position at the moment, they filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection on Monday, so we know that changes are about to come. For GM to emerge from this they will need some great new models for its customers and the automaker is hoping that the 2011 Chevrolet Viva is one of them. Read more

More GM Chevrolet Volt Hybrid teaser shots

With just over a month to go until General Motors are fully ready for a full production version of the GM Chevrolet Volt Hybrid, they thought that they would wet the appetite of car enthusiasts by launching a few teaser shots.
The Volt Hybrid has been generating a great amount of buzz for GM as it will become a major player for eco-friendly, high-technology vehicles.
There is just one picture of the front of the Volt; all we get though is part of the headlight and grille. The headlights look similar to that of the BMW as well as the new Camaro. The rear picture of the Volt does not give anything away.
These GM Volt Hybrid teaser shots have not given us much to go by, but they are still certain to excite a number of car enthusiasts. The car has already generated a huge interest, 33,411 have already expressed their intent to purchase one.
The new Chevrolet Volt Hybrid has a lithium-ion battery pack, which will keep the vehicle going for 40 miles. The battery power can be recharged via a household outlet with its plug-in charger, or with its 1.4-liter naturally-aspirated gasoline engine.

$117,000 for 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: most expensive GM model
June 17, 2008 by Peter Chubb

Well it is now official, GM and Corvette have just released details of how much the new 2009 Corvette ZR1 will cost. You had better sit down because the cost of the sports coupe will have a starting price of $103,300. However; you then have to consider that you have to pay an extra $1,700 Gas guzzler tax, if you are bored with the standard rims then you can upgrade to chrome wheels, this comes at a cost of $2000.
If you want to upgrade to a different option package then you only have a choice of one, the package costs $10,000 and with that you get Bluetooth, Bose audio, leather-wrapped interior, nav system and power tilt/telescoping steering wheel. With all these extras included the total price comes to $117,000. Autoblog believe that the 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 has to be one of the most expensive models that General Motors has ever produced.
So what exactly are you getting on this car with a huge price tag? Well firstly the engine is something special a 638-hp lump. The car will go from 0 to 60 in just 3.4 seconds and will max out at 205 mph. Now comes the bad part, fuel consumption, 14 mpg city and 20 mpg highway.
Other cars in the market range have better fuel efficient figures like the Porsche GT3 and the Dodge Viper, but then again they are not as powerful. Ok so the Porsche is also more expensive, but my money would be on the GT3 when it comes to getting round a track quicker.

Thanks to General Motors we can now see the first official pictures of their Chevy Cobalt SS Sedan, as you can see this sedan is just the same as the coupe version. So nothing has changed in the engine department, you get the same two-liter turbocharged engine as the coupe and will push out 260 horsepower.
The Chevy Cobalt SS Sedan from GM comes with a five speed gearbox and will go from 0-60 in 5.7 seconds. The Chevy Cobalt SS Sedan should be on sale some time later this year, and will have a price tag of about $23,000.

2010 Chevy Camaro: another cool video of the car cruising

It seems that we are overdosing on 2010 Chevy Camaro video sightings, but I have to say we can never get enough of them. What makes this 2010 Chevy Camaro so cool is that it is cruising along to some cool music.
I expect that this music will be blasted from so many Camaros on the road, trying their best to look as cool as the car. However no matter what they do, they will never be as cool as this black 2010 Chevy Camaro.
