Fred Meier over at USA Today is reporting the new Malibu will also be making its debut at the same time on Chevrolet’s Facebook page, and will be available as a live stream for owners of the iPhone and iPad. All this will kick off at 8.30 p.m. ET on April 18.

The teaser video which you can see below was released with a snapshot of the taillight; the new model will also be showcased at the New York Auto Show a few days later. The manufacturer has also announced the Malibu will be its first offering that will be sold around the world.

It will also be made in various factories across the world with sites in China, and the in the US. The new Malibu will be slightly shorter than its predecessor, and will be powered by various four-cylinder engines.

General Motors is looking to the Chevrolet brand for its future expansion plans, and wants it to become more global. Eight of its top ten sales were from emerging markets such as Brazil and China.

Ten years is a long time and car design and technology has changed, mostly for the better. Many mistakes have been made, but the automakers worked hard to fix most of these. So what are the most improved cars from 2000 to 2009?

USA Today have made their top ten list, which excludes 2010 models. The most improved vehicle over the past ten years is the Chevrolet Malibu, so takes the top spot. This car recently saw a major upgrade in 2008 in both its interior and refinement, which was needed after the terrible 2003 and 2004 models.

At number 2 is the Ford Mustang; most of this is due to its 2005 redesign. The reason that the Mustang has made it to number two is due to the 2004 model. This was poorly designed and was like a two-year old had put the car together.

The third most improved vehicle over the past decade is the Toyota Prius, the 2004-09 model was seen as a revolution compared to the older 2001-03 models. However, we have not seen anything yet as the 2010 model is expected to be a huge improvement over the current model.
