A few days ago we brought you news about the upcoming console edition of the popular PC game Torchlight, and how it had been confirmed as an Xbox 360 exclusive. Well now you have a chance to see exactly what the game will look like on the Xbox 360, with the recently revealed demo.

According to a recent article by Stephany Nunneley over at vg247.com, a video showing a demo of the Torchlight game – which is due to hit XBLA sometime around the end of February/ beginning of March – was shown off at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this past weekend.

The developer Runic Games has recently revealed that there is a possibility of DLC being released for the Xbox 360 version, but only if the game sells well. They also said that they would like to see the Torchlight II game eventually released on the Xbox 360. You can view the demo video here.

We also have a few more details and some screenshots for the Torchlight game, courtesy of Rainier over on the worthplaying.com website. For example, the Xbox 360 edition will feature an Included Editor, which will allow players to create and design their own game content.

The game will also feature a retirement system, which means that once your character is sufficiently leveled up they can retire and bestow certain perks and benefits onto new characters. What do you think of the Torchlight game coming to the Xbox 360, and will you be buying it?

If you’re thinking of buying yourself a new tablet PC sometime in the near future, then the recent Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2011) in Las Vegas would have been the place to be. Tablet PC’s appeared to be the focus of this year’s event, with a few news ones being introduced.

The new Vizio Tablet was just one of the devices that were unveiled during this year’s event. As Jamie Pert previously mentioned in an article here, the Vizio Tablet features an 8-inch display that supports a resolution of 1024 x 768, 1GHz processor, 4GB internal storage and HDMI-out.

There also appeared to be more hints at the upcoming arrival of the Apple iPad 2, after hearing reports that iPad 2 cases had been seen at the CES 2011 event. Tablet PC fans also learned that a 4G-enabled BlackBerry PlayBook will be arriving on the Sprint network sometime this summer.

According to a recent article over at metro.co.uk, the recently-revealed Motorola Xoom – the first Tablet PC to run on Google’s Android 3.0 operating system – was awarded the honor of the Best of the Show, despite the fact that there were several others revealed.

Another Tablet PC that was unveiled during the event was the Asus Eee Pad MeMO, which according to Brian O’Toole at androidpolice.com, features a 7-inch screen and a 1.2 GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor. Gigabyte also showed off its T1125 Tablet PC, which you can read about via maximumpc.com.

We’ve seen a few new smartphones unveiled at this year’s CES event in Las Vegas, including the LG Optimus Black – featuring a 4-inch NOVA display and Wi-Fi Direct certification – and the Samsung i997 Infuse 4G. Now it appears that ViewSonic has just unveiled the ViewPad 4 smartphone.

The ViewPad 4 is powered by a 1GHz processor, features a 4.1-inch WVGA display and runs on Google’s Android 2.2 Froyo operating system. According to a recent report by Eric M. Zeman over at phonescoop.com, it also features a 5-megapixel camera that can capture 720p HD video.

Although we don’t know any information on carrier availability or pricing at this stage, we do know that it is due to launch in the later part of this quarter. The ViewPad 4 also features Wi-Fi (802.11b/g/n), Bluetooth, 2GB internal memory and Adobe Flash Mobile Player 10.1 support.

As noted on the full list of specs over on the phonearena.com website, the ViewSonic ViewPad 4 also comes with Facebook and YouTube support and Internet browsing support for HTML, XHTML, Flash and Flash Lite. What do you think of the ViewPad 4? Can you see yourself buying one?

Today people generally have a laptop for their computer usage and a smartphone for on-the-go communications, however Motorola are really mixing things up with the Motorola Atrix, which is a smartphone which is dockable to make it a cloud computer.

As you can probably tell by the opening paragraph it is quite hard to explain this product as it is completely unique, so much so that BetaNews.com suggest that it may well be a contender for the the best announcement at CES 2011.

You can see a video showing exactly what the Motorola Atrix is capable of at the end of this post, the video clearly shows a dockable smartphone which can dock into a mobile computer, television or desktop PC, once docked you can see a webtop interface which also shows your smartphone’s display (virtually), which should mean that you have full access to your smartphone even if it is docked.

The Atrix runs Android, however it utilizes a Mozilla-based webtop OS when it is docked, the video at the end of this post shows a thin and light netbook-like mobile computer. BetaNews raise the point that the Atrix is not defined by the screen it is built into and can be docked to suit a user’s needs wherever they are, on the bus, at home or in an Internet cafe.

You can see PCWorld’s hands-on time with the Motorola Atrix here, it shows the HD Dock being used to connect the Atrix to a large HDTV, once docked you can control your smartphone, run mobile apps, experience a richer web experience and even send text message using a keyboard and mouse, it looks great!

We would love to hear what you thought about the Motorola Atrix 4G’s dockability (if thats not a word it should be) and the overall concept, do you think that a dockable smartphone will become a serious alternative to a desktop computer / laptop in the future?

Last month we began unravelling the LG Optimus in terms of specifications and a release date, now we have come across a brief Cnet review which suggests that this smartphone may be a step in the right direction for a handset manufacturer who failed to seriously impacct the market in 2010.

The Cnet review is not fully detailed, however following some hands-on time at CES 2011 the article writer (Luke Westaway) was extremely impressed with its bright, clear screen, super fast performance and mini HDMI output, the one downfall is that it does not run the latest version of Google Android.

In terms of physical design it seems as if the LG Optimus 2X is a success, Luke seemed extremely happy with the four touch-sensitive buttons and overall glossy-look of the handset, also it is pretty light and not at too bulky measuring in at 63 by 124 by 11mm, you can see a photo of the Optimus 2X below.

The HDMI-out port was tested by Cnet, apparently it worked well and the images displayed looked great, also the fact that there is a dual-core Tegra 2 1GHz processor meant that 1080p video was played extremely smoothly, this processor gives the handset a very snappy overall feel throughout the many aspects of the OS.

At the time of Cnet’s article the 2X ran Android 2.2 FroYo, an update to Android 2.3 Gingerbread is expected, however it is a shame that the handset wasn’t running this release at CES.

I must admit that I have never been to keen on LG smartphones, however the Optimus 2X does interest me, how about you?

It looks like Nyko wasn’t the only gaming peripheral manufacturer to show off their latest line-up at the CES 2011 event in Las Vegas this week. It appears that Razer also got in on the action, by announcing the release and price of the Onza Xbox 360 controller.

According to Natalie Shoemaker over at pcmag.com, the Razer Onza is most definitely a controller for gaming enthusiasts. Not only does it feature hyper-responsive action buttons and an improved D-pad, but it also comes with adjustable-resistance analog sticks.

Gamers have a choice of either the Standard Edition Onza controller, which will set them back $39.99, or the Tournament Edition, which comes out a little more expensive at $49.99. Both controllers will be available to purchase worldwide sometime this month.

The Onza Tournament Edition comes with adjustable analog sticks, a rubberized texture, backlighting and a 15-foot braided cable. The Standard Edition comes with a standard 15-foot cable, a textured finish and two of the previously mentioned features excluded.

I found an article over at techradar.com that also provides us with a UK date and price. The Standard Edition will cost UK gamers £35, while the Tournament Edition is priced up at £45. Both controllers will be available for pre-order on January 17th.

The thing that has confused me a little is the fact that Razer has already announced the release of the Onza Xbox 360 controller around this time last year, although we didn’t actually have many details or a specific release date then. Will you be buying the Onza controller?

There has definitely been no shortage of exciting announcements made at the CES 2011 event this week and if you’re a gamer like me, the recent Nyko unveiling may be of interest to you. The gaming peripheral manufacturer has just revealed its 2011 line-up, which includes a new Move gun.

According to a recent vg247.com article by Johnny Cullen, the new Nyko line-up includes a cooling fan for the Xbox 360 console, both the Raven Standard and Raven Alternative controllers for the PlayStation 3 and charging stations for the Xbox 360 and Move controllers.

The new PlayStation Move assault rifle – known as the “Power Shot for Move” – features a lightweight and ergonomic design for comfortable one-handed play. Although we don’t actually know a price at this stage, we do know that the “Power Shot for Move” will be released sometime in March.

As Darren Murph at engadget.com recently reported, the Raven Standard – which has exactly the same layout as the Sony controller – and the Raven Alternative (featuring an alternative configuration) controllers are available to buy in stores now, with both costing $34.99.

If you fancy buying yourself a charging station for your PlayStation Move controllers, then you may just like Nyko’s 2-port Charge Station for Move or the 4-port Charge Station Quad for Move. Both stations allow you to store and charge your Move and Navigation controllers at once.

Yesterday we posted an article which gave you a good-look at the upcoming Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, we suggested that it would be running Android 2.3 Gingerbread, however it looks as if Gingerbread may in fact be Android version 2.4.

Below we have embedded an image showing the Xperia Arc seemingly running “Android version 2.4″, according to Engadget Google is not yet ready to roll-out Honeycomb, therefore this may well mean that Honeycomb will be Android version 3.0 and Gingerbread will be Android version 2.4.

I’m sure that by the end of CES 2011 things will be a lot clearer, hopefully we will be able to confirm which Android release the Arc will run as standard (Gingerbread / Honeycomb)and which version numbers will be given to the Android releases.

To be honest with you I would much prefer Android 2.4 to be given to the Gingerbread release and Honeycomb to be given the Android 3.0 version number, let’s face it we have heard that Honeycomb will not require physical buttons (for things like Home, Search, Back and Menu), therefore this significant change requires a significant change in version number, what do you think?

Motorola has been very busy during the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show, as they have been showing off a number of Smartphone’s, as well as a new tablet device. For those of you who have been keeping an eye on all things CES, then you would already know about the Motorola Xoom tablet and the Droid Bionic Smartphone.

The tablet is the one that Verizon has been hyping up for some time, so we are finally glad to see the device up close – even if it is just a video, which you can see for yourself below. Liliputing reports that the upcoming tablet will use Google Android 3.0 Honeycomb, which we explained this morning is designed just for tablets.

The Droid Bionic is another partnership with Motorola and Big Red, and is thought to be one of their first 4G LTE handset. This looks as if it could be a worthy component to the iPhone 5 when it is released, as it boasts a dual-core processor offering 2GHz in total. For a full hands-on with the upcoming handset visit CNET News.

We do not have any details on a release date or pricing, but according to Hot Hardware you will be drooling when you look at these devices, take a look at the videos below to see just what they mean. Do you think that the new Xoom tablet and Droid Bionic Smartphone from Motorola will allow Verizon to stay ahead of the game?
