Are T-Mobile planning HTC Google Android handset release at end of year?
August 6, 2008 by Alan

There have been a lot of interest on the pending release of the first Google Android handsets but the news is that HTC hope to release them at the end of the year. Still no official date yet though, but at least it’s a bit of news to get fans hopeful.
HTC have claimed these blank, unbranded phones will be heading out to the original design manufacturer by the fourth quarter of the year and only then will fans be able to get their hands on one.
Although there has been a lot of speculation on the Google Android phones, there still is the debate on which mobile phone provider will distribute it. Sources have indicated that T Mobile could be the company that is going to take on the responsibility, as previous news stated that Google had assisted T-Mobile US with the HTC Dream handset.
As its just turned August though, I wouldn’t expect any more hints on these phones until later on when it edges nearer to the end of the year. Hopefully soon though, there will be reports of seeing these mobiles in action, stay tuned to hear more news.

Saving Playboy: Cell Phone or Miley Cyrus in Magazine
May 15, 2008 by Daniel

The Playboy brand has enjoyed worldwide success over the years and this is thanks to Hugh Hefner and the decisions he has made, but with more people using the internet as a way to get free entertainment and this having a knock on affect for not only Playboy, but also other television companies and publishers. The revenues of this type of media has been dropping and Playboy reported a loss of $3.1 million in the first quarter of 2008, going back just one year saw the brand make $1.5 million profit. The companies’ revenue has dropped eight percent to $78.5 million.
So what will Hefner do to correct this? Well it looks like he has already been making plans, as the revenue from licensing has increased to ten percent and with new products releasing like the Playboy Cell Phone, this could help bring in more revenue and expand the Playboy brand. Although if the cell phone thing does not work, Hugh Hefner is till trying to sell Playboy magazines by getting Miley Cyrus to pose for Playboy. Personally I think this would be a bad move, if for one reason, it would be her age.
Now the cell phone is a good idea and a cool product at that, if you love Playboy products then the Alcatel Playboy branded OT-V770a with a 1.3 Megapixel camera, Bluetooth 2.0 and Media Player will be just what you want and you can think about helping keep the Playboy brand around for a few more years. Watch the video review below of the new phone.

We all know the internet is a great place to be for wonderful things and innovation in some peoples eyes but where will the internet be in say 10 years time?
Could the internet really be dying? I ask this because with all these amazing cell phones like the Apple iPhone for example I believe it is phones like this that will kill the internet. Is this true on the grand scale of things is a something to wonder and according to an Oxford professor with degrees from Harvard and Yale it seems it could be true.
Jonathan Zittrain argues this point saying with identity theft, viruses and many other factors will kill the internet. To tell you the truth when not working I use the Apple iPhone as my source to get my work done.
Jonathan Zittrain says “That’s because these locked-down devices prohibit the kind of tinkering by end users that made PCs and the Internet such a force of economic, political and artistic change.

Well today is a big day in Ireland, as O2 will launch the Apple iPhone there five months after Britain got the most popular handset. The iPhone will cost 399 Euros for the 8GB version and 499 Euros for the 16GB model.
However it seems as if Ireland does not get as good of a deal on the O2 traffic as the people in Britain. For 45 Euros a month you get 175 minutes, 100 texts and 1GB of Data. For 65 Euros you get 350 minutes, 150 texts and 1GB data. And the highest traffic will cost 100 Euros and for that you get 700 minutes, 250 texts and still 1GB of data.
So no matter what traffic you are on O2 will not offer you unlimited data, and you are also tied into an 18-month contract. Apple iPhone users do not even get free The Cloud Wi-Fi access.
