This is something that Apple Insider learned from WSJ.

Tim Ollason from OSM is unsure why Apple has reduced these numbers, but I believe that it could have something to do with a Verizon iPhone 5 not being as popular an idea as it once was – this could have something to do with the long wait or those waiting moving to Android?

There have been fears that iPad sales would falter now that Android tablets have already started to hit the market, but analysts believe that Apple must be expecting to have a strong end to the year with iPad sales – but do not expect any deals over Black Friday.

There are those who believe that 2011 will be a tougher year for Apple and its iPad device, and there could be some truth to that. Yes we know that there will be more Android tablets, and the start of Windows and webOS based tablet devices, but lets not right the iPad off just yet.

The iPad set the benchmark, and you can be sure come April – when the new iPad 2 is rumored to launch – Apple will have a new device that will set the benchmark once again.

As reported from Apple Insider, it has been revealed that Apple’s biggest supplier , Foxconn, will team up alongside Pegatron to work on orders they have received for a CDMA iPhone.

Verizon wasn’t specifically mentioned in the report, but it is expected that both Foxconn and Pegatron will produce CDMA models for use on Verizon’s network as well as China Telecom.

Either way, it suggests that Apple will not suffer from any stock shortage problems with two companies working on the new model at the same time. Full report can be read over at AI.

We can’t say if they’re real or not, but they look pretty legit to us.

Interestingly, the photos have once again surfaced from Vietnam. As Apple Insider reports, a blogger known as ‘Richy Rich’ managed to get his hands on the photos, although none of them appear to show the display screen UI up-close.

Instead we’re left to speculate over a series of side shots of the device, as well as a few images from a distance. The pictures are not very conclusive, so theres no way to be certain that they are genuine – yet.

It is important to note that one of the photos identifies the test unit as “N92DVT.” If you may recall a few months back, N92 was thought to be the internal codename of the CDMA iPhone, which was also backed up by Daring Fireball’s John Gruber.

The new details have emerged courtesy of this report from BGR, who have been informed by one of their sources close to Apple. They state that the ‘iPhone 3.2′ device, previously located in iOS code is indeed the CDMA model and that the phone is now at the “AP” testing stage.

This means that this is the final stage before the phone actually goes on retail, which seems to suggest that all the rumors involving a January 2011 launch could have been true all along.

Furthermore, their sources also confirmed that the device will have room for a SIM card, which again backs up previous speculation that the Verizon iPhone will have support for both CDMA and GSM networks, so it can operate on the likes of AT&T, Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile.

The reason I say this is because two wireless operators in India are reportedly in talks with Apple to supply a code division multiple access version of the smartphone to their customers.

The two carriers are Reliance Communications and Tata Teleservices, which as we know use CDMA technology. There could be a certain amount of truth to this rumor, as it is thought that handsets of this type have already started production.

According to WSJ – who has been covering news on the possible Verizon iPhone – people close to the negotiations said, “Tata has been in talks with them [Apple] for four to five months now.” If this is the case, then maybe the same goes for Big Red as well?

Romit Guha And R. Jai Krishna from Wall Street Journal does warn us not to expect huge sales from these iPhone’s in India, as CDMA only has a 20 percent market share compared to that of GSM. However, we would like to point out that 20% would count for 134 million users; so the iPhone could have a good percentage of that.

Will they crack under pressure and finally announce it or keep consumers waiting?

We are used to seeing Apple announce their new iPhone devices at their WWDC events each Summer, but it looks like that is all set to change with the arrival of the Verizon iPhone 4. If all the rumors are true, it means that consumers only have to wait a few months before they can start buying on Verizon.

So what are Apple waiting for? There is no doubt that they have read the WSJ’s recent article on the iPhone, considering the last one they wrote back in March sent a shockwave through the internet. If the Verizon iPhone is going to come out early 2011, then surely an official announcement needs to come soon, especially since Verizon will want to start their marketing bandwagon early (even though they don’t need to).

It is certainly an indecisive time for Verizon customers coming towards the end of their contracts and are looking for any updates on the iPhone situation. Do they believe the constant speculation or just bite the bullet and sign up for a new deal?

Come on Apple, it’s your move.

According to their new report, WSJ has once again confirmed that Apple’s version of the iPhone for Verizon Wireless will be available to buy during the first quarter of 2011.

They add that Apple will start building the devices before the end of this year, and that AT&T are about to ‘lose it’s lock’ on the iPhone 4. Furthermore, the WSJ is claiming that the Verizon iPhone will ‘resemble’ the current iPhone 4 model, but it will be altered for use on Verizon’s network – i.e CDMA support.

The report didn’t confirm whether or not the CDMA iPhone would also be coming to Sprint or not, or if the handset will be available just on Verizon.

Over at PCMag, their detailed article points out the fact that CDMA doesn’t just belong to Verizon. Maybe consumers automatically associate CDMA iPhone as a Verizon iPhone, but the CDMA term isn’t just tied down to one carrier.

For example, Sprint also use a form of CDMA for their network, while CDMA is also very popular in India and Japan. If Apple are really planning to release a CDMA iPhone in January, then it could be for another network, not necessarily Verizon Wireless.

Of course, we would all like it to be Verizon, but we feel that you should be aware of this for future reference. It still could happen though, we just need Apple and Verizon to reach an agreement on the iPhone, our earlier report here has more details on this.
