Are you one of the many gamers that have recently gone out and purchased the adult-orientated horror, puzzle-platformer, adventure game Catherine – which is developed by Atlus – for the PlayStation 3? If you are, then you might like to know that a PS3 trophy guide has just been unveiled. What’s more is that we’ve also discovered videos that will provide you with a few tips.

According to an article by Jonathan Leack over on the playstationlifestyle.net website, there are a total of 48 trophies to unlock in the Catherine game, including 40 bronze, 6 silver, 1 gold and 1 platinum trophy. As with all other games, the platinum trophy (titled Cheers To You!) is only achieved once a player has collected all of the other available trophies.

3-Star Man is just one of the bronze trophies available in the Catherine game. To unlock this trophy, players must unlock Menhir by achieving Gold Prizes in 3 of the puzzle stages in Story Mode. However, gamers have to be playing in normal or hard difficulty. To achieve the Gold Prize, you have to quickly climb and keep the multiplier going as long as you possibly can while avoiding being killed.

Once this has been achieved, players will unlock the Menhir stage in Babel mode. Another bronze trophy is Let My Sheep Go, which can be achieved by completing the third stage in Story Mode. Players will earn the trophy once they defeat the stage’s boss, Immoral Beast. To unlock the Crossing the Courtyard trophy, players have to conquer the fifth stage of Story Mode.

As with Let My Sheep Go, the trophy will only be earned once players have defeated that specific stage’s boss, Doom’s Bride. Meanwhile, the Past a Heap of Puzzle trophy (bronze) requires players to beat stage 64 of Rapunzel, a great mini-game that is found at the bar. Rapunzel is similar to normal puzzle gameplay, but with a set amount of moves to complete each stage.

The Rapunzel mini-game features a total of 64 increasingly difficult stages to overcome. To unlock the I Can Fly! silver trophy, players are required to jump on a Spring Block three times in a row. Spring blocks are quite difficult to find, but they can be found by searching for a block that has a small trampoline inside it. If you manage to step on it 3 times in a row you will unlock the trophy.

To achieve the Dreams Come True Gold trophy, you have to view all of the game’s endings. The Catherine game features a total of eight different endings, with each ending having their own trophy. The endings include bad lover, true lover, normal lover, bad cheater, normal cheater, true cheater, normal freedom and true freedom.

You can read more about the trophies and view the tip videos over on the playstationlifestyle.net website. Have you purchased the Catherine game? If you have, how many of these trophies have you already achieved?

Are you still confused as to what exactly Atlus’ upcoming horror puzzle-platformer game Catherine is all about? If you answered yes, then you might be pleased to know that the developer / publisher has recently launched a full English website for the much-anticipated game.

According to a recent article by Pete Davison over at gamepro.com, the official Catherine website features a whole host of information about the story, the gameplay mechanics and the characters. It also offers a selection of backing music from composer Shoji Meguro.

The website even enables users to play with Vincent’s mobile phone, which promises to contain new messages from the game’s cast every day. The first message on display is from Catherine. Atlus promises that replying to her with what she wants to hear will unlock avatars, wallpapers and artwork.

Catherine – which already launched in Japan back in February – is scheduled to be released on July 26th in the United States. There will be a choice of two editions: the Standard Edition, which costs $59.99, and the ‘Love is Over’ Deluxe Edition, which will set you back $79.99.

If you decide to pre-order either edition of the Catherine video game you will also receive an art book and a soundtrack CD. Are you unsure as to whether or not you want to buy the Catherine game?
