If you are looking for a tough little car we would recommend the 2008 Smart Fortwo, the little Smart car gets highest rating in crash tests. The 2008 Smart Fortwo is the smallest car for sale in the U.S market and has gained a brilliant and of course highest rating for front end and side impact testing by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.
Ok so the car is safe at the front and side but what about the back? Opps did they forget about the back end. The Smart Fortwo’s head and seat restraints earned the second highest rating of acceptable for the protection against whiplash in rear impacts (Ah there it is, see I jumped to conclusions sorry.

IIHS spokesman Russ Rader said “The Smart engineers have done their homework, and. “They’ve designed safety into a very small package.” The Smart Fortwo has been classified as a micro car by the IIHS which means it is much smaller than say a Mini Cooper. Frontal ratings can’t be compared across weight classes, says the IIHS. Rader said if drivers decide to go with a small car they should research the standard equipment that comes with the vehicle. The Smart Fortwo features safety in mind thanks to the seat-mounted combination side airbags which are wisely designed to protect both chests and heads of the passenger and driver.
Anyway instead of boring you it is a simple as this – The 2008 Smart Fortwo IIHS crash tests proves high rating and is safe to drive. Please do watch the video below of the 2008 Smart Fortwo car going through some amazing crash tests.
New copper-colored BMW M1 concept

The photos on this page show a new copper-colored BMW M1 concept, the photos were snapped up first from Asphalte.ch and these are the same people that gave us a sneak peak at the Lamborghini LP560-4 earlier in 2008. These photos were of the BMW M1 concept at Villa d’Este; they show the super car on its own and with its forebears.
As you can see, the BMW M1 concept has a flowing, smooth design with “a low brow, high haunches and the signature kidney grille”. The M1 is part of Bimmer’s 30th anniversary celebration of Munich’s original classic supercar, while these photos are from a private exhibition that took place today, we should be hearing more news within the next 24 hours when an official Press Release becomes available.

What do you think of the BMW M1? We love it and hope BMW do not mess around and get working on a production version, but I would imagine that will be a while yet. Perfect for Sony PS3 online gaming: hands-on Gran Turismo 5 Prologue with 60 cars
March 28, 2008 by Daniel
Filed under Gaming, Hands On, Sony Playstation 3

As I said yesterday, I mostly game online and the game has been COD4 but today my hands are holding Gran Turismo 5 Prologue and while this is only really half a game it’s still perfect for half the price of most PS3 games. The reason its perfect for now is the choice of 60 cars and ability to race with up to 16 other players online which could take up months of gaming just like COD4 online has.
Having only 6 tracks is disappointing, but then COD4 does not have many maps so the real gameplay will be competing against those other 16 players, friends, family and strangers.
Today the game is going to get a hands-on and we will see if it lives up to my high online expectations. Remember to join our RSS Games Feed to keep updated.
GT5 Prologue has stunning graphics, but what sort of last-ability does it have in gameplay and how much fun is this racing game really, we will let you know after the hands-on.

Filed under Autos, Sedans & Saloons, Sports Cars

The Mercedes Benz C63 AMG is finally on sale, and let me tell you it has been worth the wait. Sp what makes this performance sedan worth all the wait, well the main thing is its power, a 6.2-litre V8 which has 600Nm of torque and a 0 – 100kmh time of about 4.5 seconds. The Mercedes Benz C63 AMG is also packed with a host of AMG extras, which puts it a class above the standard C-Class model.
This sedan comes with a seven-speed automatic gearbox, and to give it a sporty feel there are gear shift paddles on the steering wheel, technology straight from Formula 1. The C63 AMG also uses AMG’s sports steering as well as a three stage stability control, all of which will give you a more positive driving experience.
Now for the painful part, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG price starts from $139,500

The McLaren F1 lm is the ultimate dream car and has a price tag of £2 million, however Formula 1 star Lewis Hamilton has been promised one if he manages to win two F1 drivers titles. The McLaren F1 Lm is the world’s rarest supercar, however that has not stopped McLaren boss Ron Dennis from promising the gift to his young driver.
Lewis Hamilton said “The LM has always been my ultimate dream car since I first saw it when I was 13.” He also added “When I first went to McLaren it was there and I fell in love with it.”
There are only five McLaren LMs in existence, it will go from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of 225mph. The supercar is powered by a V12 engine, the car will fall into insurance group 20, however I am sure that Lewis can afford the premium.

Smart brake lights for cars designed by Virginia Tech students: Could this stop tailgating?

New inventions are always praised if it stops idiots on the roads causing accidents due to tailgating; we praise this invention very much.
Why this has never been designed years and years ago is beyond me and why cars nowadays have not got this sort of device incorporated on cars now makes me wonder.
The new invention comes from Virginia Tech students who designed Smart brake lights for cars, the automobile braking lights that were developed is a brand new system that will show LED lights if you are stopping and if you are slowing down.
It will show drivers who are driving behind a car with this setup if the car is stopping, slowing down and even how soft or hard they are going to brake. When you begin to slow down the lights in the center glow orange and after a certain threshold the lights turn to red plus if you slam on the brakes hard the LED lights will flash red.
So could this stop tailgating?

Land Rover designed the LRX concept, and the interior has to be one of the best parts of this SUV. As with all concept vehicles many of the best parts of the design never make it to the production car.
However this will not be the case with the Land Rover LRX Concept, as the company has said that they will try to keep the interior intact. This new SUV is a 2-door version is hoped to bridge the gap between the LR3 and the Freelander.
The Land Rover LRX should hit showrooms by 2010.
