It seems that under tests these Maestro Combination Booster Seat’s have cracked during a crash simulation. The recall only affects early models, and will no doubt be a worry to parents.

During tests two seats had cracked, which resulted in the harness that holds the seat in place. The seat only failed when used with the five-point harness, no faults were found when used as a booster seat.

The two seats that failed were made in December and February, so all those made after April will not need to be recalled. From the amount of seats affected in this recall 4,479 are in Canada and 13,792 in the U.S.

According to CanadianDriver, there has not been any reports of injury, but you are still asked not to use them. The model number being recalled in Canada is 31011057C, and those in the U.S. are as follows: 31011059, 31011048, 3101198, 31011049 and 3101980.
