Call of Duty Ghosts, Battlefield 4, Destiny and next-gen Final Fantasy may be just a few of the big hitters to appear at E3 2013, but rumors are suggesting that Capcom may be planning a big Resident Evil 7 announcement already. Considering that the company has only just released RE6 at the end of last year – we can only assume or hope that Resident Evil 7 is strictly for next-generation PS4 and Xbox hardware.

E3 2013 is going to be the event where all developers and publishers bring their big guns on stage, in an attempt to build up anticipation and hype towards their future product releases. Capcom has been busy re-releasing the console version of Resident Evil: Revelations after initially bringing the game to 3DS, but do they have something special to show next month?

A poster has appeared online, appearing to confirm that Resident Evil 7 is due for an unveiling at the event. The image you see above is thought to be an E3 2013 Resident Evil 7 promotion poster, while it also contains the interesting slogan – ‘The War Ends Now’.

While it certainly looks genuine to the unassuming gamer, those with a little Photoshop expertise will know too well that this is the exact kind of poster that can be designed just to fool gamers. If Capcom really are bringing yet another Resident Evil game so soon, we only want to see this on next-gen hardware, and perhaps even PS Vita.

It would be somewhat disappointing if we see Resident Evil 7 announced for PS3 and Xbox 360 so soon after Resident Evil 6. Don’t forget that it was only October 2012 that RE6 was released – a mere eight months ago. Are Capcom tempted to jump aboard the annual Ubisoft, Activision and EA release bandwagon, or is RE7 a next-gen project that has been in the pipeline for a long time?

A lot of fans are already calling this a fake, but we will have to see. If you are a Resident Evil fan, let us know your thoughts on the image. What would you like to see from the next game?

While Ninja Theory has been teasing users who insist on having old Dante back, by putting an amusing easter egg in DmC: Devil May Cry, it turns out that old Dante will be making a longer appearance in the game for those who are willing to pay for it. The first batch of DLC has been revealed in the form of three new costumes for Dante, one of which is his appearance from Devil May Cry that should make some of you a little happier with the situation.

Earlier this week, we’ve seen complaints over new Dante reach new levels by a White House petition, while the low scores on Metacritic are still coming in thick and fast from users who won’t be happy until a completely new game is made which returns things back to the old Devil May Cry roots.

We have a feeling those days are over though, and there’s no reason for them to return either with the new game receiving very positive review scores from official critic reviews. Enough on the ongoing debate though as there is new DLC on the way for the game, which could improve things for disgruntled gamers.

A costume skin pack will be available on January 29 in the US, January 30 in Europe and will cost £3.19, $4.00 or 320 Microsoft Points to download. For that you’ll get Neo Dante, Dark Dante, but more importantly ‘Classic Dante’ which is modelled on his DmC3 appearance.

As you can see from the image above, it looks very slick, although some of you may be unhappy that you’re having to pay for this. PC owners won’t however. Capcom has said that when the PC version of the game releases, these three costumes will be included at no extra charge for those that choose to pre-order.

It is only $4 we are talking about here though, so we think it isn’t too much of a big deal with two other costumers included as well as the return of Classic Dante. Will this now end the barrage of hate aimed at Ninja Theory, or will it continue to happen throughout the year?

Let us know if you plan to pick up the game or purchase the costume pack, now that old Dante is returning via a DLC costume.

DmC: Devil May Cry may be taking a battering from some gamers who will never be happy with the new look direction of the game, but that hasn’t stopped Ninja Theory’s reboot from storming straight to the top of the sales charts, replacing the likes of Black Ops 2 and FIFA 13 in the process. What will be the next step to try to bring the game down we wonder?

We told you in the past that the game is receiving zero mark scores on the Metacritic website, in the user review section where any member can sign up and post an opinion on the game. A quick glance again on the page, and it’s still a sad case on the user reviews section, with a score of just 4.0 out of 10 compared to the more positive 86/100 score for critic reviews.

With the game top of the UK charts, it’s clear to see that a lot of you are still enjoying the game and enjoying the fact that Dante has now taken on a new lease of life and will probably be seen once again in his younger form in a potential sequel. Capcom has said that they are fully behind Ninja Theory on the reboot and even the original Devil May Cry creator has pledged his support as well.

There will always be the minority though, and in this case – one individual and 25 other followers who have decided to ask the White House and President Obama for help in overturning Ninja Theory’s decision to create a young Dante. They complain that it ‘violates their right to have a choice’ between the original games and the reboot, adding that Obama should ‘pull it off the shelves due to its insulting nature’.

Good luck with that. At the time of writing, they still need a further 99,974 votes to get an official response from the White House. Let us know if you have bought the new Devil May Cry game and what your thoughts are on this attempt to get Obama’s attention.

While Nintendo 3DS owners may have a new Pokemon game to look forward to with the upcoming X and Y titles, the Monster Hunter series is seemingly part of the Nintendo family now and there’s going to be smiles all round when Monster Hunter 4 arrives on the handheld exclusively. That’s what the general belief is after seeing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate land on Wii U, but after a Monster Hunter 4 delay, speculation has begun that Capcom may have had a change of heart in relation to bringing Monster Hunter 4 to the PS Vita.

At the moment, Monster Hunter 4 is scheduled for the 3DS only and now has a revised release period of Summer 2013, for Japanese 3DS owners only first of all. A rumor highlighted by IGN just a few days ago claims that the real reason of the delay is to pave the way for a simultaneous release on Nintendo 3DS and PS Vita.

However, Capcom has moved quickly to end these rumors, with even Christian Svensson, the company’s Senior Vice-President inserting himself in a discussion thread on their website to politely distance themselves from a PS Vita release. When the IGN rumor was posted to Capcom’s website, Svensson had this to say in reply before closing the topic himself:

“I would not believe everything you read on the internet. It will set you up for disappointment or misdirected frustration.”

There’s no denying that a PS Vita version of Monster Hunter 4 would be a main attraction for Vita owners desperate for games, and it could be one of a select number of games that really has the ability to sell hardware for Sony. As you can see above though, the possibility of this ever coming to fruition seems very slim at the moment and it remains exclusive to Nintendo’s handheld for the foreseeable future.

What do you make of the lack of Monster Hunter on the PS Vita. Is it almost unthinkable seeing this franchise and also the Final Fantasy franchise missing on the Vita?

If you are planning to pick up the imminent Devil May Cry reboot from Ninja Theory, we have a treat in store for you with an uninterrupted gameplay marathon. DmC:Devil May Cry is not due out until January 15, but we have a collection of videos to show you, including some exclusive footage of some specific missions and bosses that you’ll encounter when playing through the single player mode in the game.

Before we get down to the juicy footage, we’ve noticed that all of the gameplay videos of the new Devil May Cry game have been met by a wave of dislikes by disgruntled fans who are still bitter that old Dante isn’t returning. We have a feeling that a good number are just disliking the videos for the sake of it, but after having watched the footage ourselves, we have to say that the game is actually looking very nice.

We’ve also seen a lot of positive feedback from the demo as well, so it’s not all doom and gloom as one may think by looking at the YouTube like and dislike count. Some of the interactive environments in various levels look pretty stunning actually and we have a feeling that Ninja Theory may have a hit on their hands when the game finally releases.

Eurogamer has provided us with the early gameplay marathon, as we have footage showing an initial hands on preview for the game, as well as a sneak peek look at missions 8 and 9 as well. You’ll see glimpses of some of the bosses that are featured in the game and one visually impressive level that involves using Dante’s angel glide move to navigate around several tricky platforms in succession before facing a new type of demon that protects herself with a shield and can only be harmed when in devil mode.

We liked the old Devil May Cry games too, but we think it’s time to move on. This doesn’t look like a bad game at all and hopefully the reviews will reflect that when they start to go online. Take a look at the gameplay below and let us know what side of the fence you are on.

Do you support the new vision of Ninja Theory’s Devil May Cry, or will you not be happy until Capcom brings back the original Dante?

If you haven’t picked up Street Fighter X Tekken yet for whatever reason but were always interested in doing so, you may want to opt for the PC version of the game thanks to the new found customization abilities that are available and are not featured on console versions. You may not know it, but you can apply mods to the game and more specifically – insert costumes of any variety as a replacement for some of the characters seen in-game.

We have a few brilliant videos to show you what we mean now, as some clever modders have managed to put Dr Doom in the game, the supervillain from Marvel which you should all very familiar with. In the clip you’ll see below, Dr Doom has been placed in the game with Sagat’s move set and it actually looks pretty good.

If Dr Doom doesn’t take your fancy, how about Sega’s Bayonetta character? Her appearance model looks fantastic we have to say, although it’s a shame that modders can’t take this one step further and try to give her some unique moves – we guess this is the next step. There is another video showing what Bryan looks like dressed as M.Bison, and actually – some of his moves wouldn’t look out of place for the real M.Bison. Take a look and let us know if you agree here.

Once again, it shows the advantages that PC owners have over console users as this just wouldn’t be possible on the Xbox 360 or PS3 versions. We hear all the time on how PC gaming will be ‘finished’ when next-gen consoles arrive, but based on this creativity seen in this example here – it’s clear that consumers will have a lot of preference for a PC copy over console.

Do you own Street Fighter X Tekken on the PC? If so, let us know what other mods you would like to see next. It would be great if someone takes that Dr Doom mod and gives him his move set from Marvel Vs Capcom 3 – that has to be possible surely? Hopefully we’ll have part two of this story at a later date for you, but as it stands the PC version looks like the superior version now.

When are Capcom going to learn their lesson about on-disc DLC we wonder? You would have thought that the Street Fighter X Tekken backlash would cause the company to change their ways, but it has just been discovered that Resident Evil 6 contains on disc DLC as well.

The game is now available to buy on multiple platforms and received mixed reviews, as you’ll see in our review roundup here. If you have the game on console at the moment, you’ll be interested to find out that someone has already managed to crack open the game and reveal content that is currently not available on the disc.

A video we’ve included below confirms that Capcom has plans to release a new difficulty mode into the game called ‘No Hope’. which will replace the ‘Pro’ mode as the most difficult mode in the game. While it sounds good, the problem is that the mode isn’t available to unlock right now, meaning that Capcom may have plans to charge for it at a later date.

Several other discoveries have been made as well, such as extra costumes and taunts, but we’ve since learned that these can be unlocked in the game by simply progressing through Mercenaries mode. Having said that, a new character may be coming at a later date, after it was discovered that one of the taunts features a soldier that you currently can’t access.

He looks a lot like Ada Wong’s partner in the co-op part of the game, so are Capcom planning to shock everyone again by locking extra characters away on the disc, so that they can charge for it later on after interest has died down a little bit?

Capcom has already responded to the onslaught of on-disc DLC complaints – admitting that there will be one piece of DLC that is already on the disc, but maintaining at the same time that ‘virtually all content will not be on the disc’. They’ve also said that the reason to include that one piece of DLC on the disc is down to ‘technical’ reasons.

Do you own a copy of Resident Evil 6? What are your thoughts on Capcom’s continued stance on locking away content on the disc?

It appears that a lot of you are experiencing serious problems with the digital PS3 version of Resident Evil 6. Capcom’s latest shooter went on sale yesterday, but many of you cannot play it after getting a continuous error code 80029513 pop up on screen.

After the far from perfect review scores for the game, this is a fresh headache for Capcom and a far serious matter as well since digital players are being blocked from playing along side those who have the disc version of the game – if you can believe that.

The original problem appears to have been fixed though, which stopped all digital owners of the game from playing the game full stop. Now all you have to do if you are getting the error code 80029513 as mentioned above, is uninstall and reinstall the game – bypassing the initial patch prompt which caused the game to freeze the first time.

Capcom has stated that a further patch is on the way asap to solve the problem where digital players cannot play with disc players and it should be available ‘imminently’ according to Capcom’s statement. Not being able to play the game at all though is pretty poor you have to say though, we can only imagine how frustrating that must have been for those that opted for the digital version ahead of the retail copy.

You can read the problem thread in full over at the official PlayStation Forums – 22 pages of constant complaints from users who are all experiencing the exact same problem. Capcom has asked for patience while they work to fix the situation, but has your patience actually run out with the developer?

Let us know if you had this problem yesterday with the game and if you are still unable to play the digital version of Resident Evil 6.

Resident Evil 6 is due for release on Tuesday and if you’re planning on picking up the game, you’ll be pleased to hear that the reviews are now in. Unfortunately though, it appears that opinions are clearly divided on Capcom’s latest entry in the long running survival horror franchise.

After the below par Resident Evil 5, gamers are expecting big things from Resident Evil 6. The demo provided an excellent preview of the new style of gameplay compared to the last game and we were actually pretty impressed with what we saw. It looked like an instant improvement on RE5 in our opinion, but some of the reviews that have been published have been less favorable to the game and Capcom may be in for a shock once they see some of the scores.

Some of the lowest scores have come from sites like Destructoid, who scored the game a paltry 3/0 stating that it is like a Michael Bay movie – not in a good way obviously. They also felt the need to say that Resident Evil 6 is “a step back for the series” and “a step back for commonplace, unassuming action-shooters.”

It’s a similar story over at The Verge’s review, as they have said that Resident Evil 6 “resembles one of its own grotesque mutations” – ouch. Thankfully, there are some kind words for Capcom’s latest shooter, as one of the more favorable reviews have come from CVG, who have praised the amount of content in the game, with a particular mention for co-op mode which ‘makes everything better’.

Elsewhere down the list, it really is a mixed bag with scores all the way across the spectrum. IGN has given the game a decent 7.9/10, while Eurogamer hasn’t been afraid to dish out a 6/10 score and face Capcom’s wrath. Are you shocked by some of the scores we’re seeing here?

More importantly, are you still planning to get the game on Tuesday despite the far from perfect review scores? No doubt that Capcom are not going to be happy with some of the scores given, but do they only have themselves to blame on this occasion? Check out some of the reviews below and let us know your thoughts on this.

Eurogamer – 6/10

IGN – 7.9/10

Destructoid – 3/10

The Verge – 4/10

CVG – 8/10

PS Vita owners should be really happy at the moment with Cross Buy and Remote Play features starting to make the system much more appealing. Across the shore, Nintendo 3DS owners are patiently waiting for their crown jewel Monster Hunter 4 to arrive and we have some great new images for you to take a look at.

It’s no secret that some are still skeptical on what the 3DS can produce graphically. We saw with the re-release of Ocarina of Time that the handheld could handle N64 quality graphics and now Monster Hunter 4 is looking like the next game to showcase the device’s potential to handle quality on par with previous home consoles.

The 3DS may not be able to match the Vita in an direct graphics duel, an argument in itself, but there’s no denying that Monster Hunter 4 is looking highly impressive for a handheld game. Monster Hunter 3 was a good looking game in its own right, but the next game is going to rock graphics that you were probably used to seeing on a PS2.

A barrage of screenshots via AGB have shown up courtesy of the latest issue of Japanese publication Famitsu and the graphics on show are nothing short of mouthwatering. The shots available are in 2D of course, but imagine how good these are going to look on the 3DS when playing in 3D.

There has been plenty of endless debates on which handheld is better between the Vita and 3DS, but most Vita owners will probably admit that they are still hugely disappointed in Capcom’s decision to ignore the Vita. Has Capcom and Sony had a falling out behind closed doors? – As it still seems odd to us that Capcom would opt against bringing Monster Hunter to the Vita, when it was Monster Hunter on the PSP that put the whole franchise in the limelight.

As a 3DS owner, is Monster Hunter 4 the one game that you are really looking forward to above anything else? For Vita owners – how do you feel knowing that this game is exclusive to 3DS?
