If you were hoping for a surprise Destiny announcement on PS Vita at Sony’s upcoming E3 press conference, we may have some disappointing news to bring you. Halo developers Bungie has recently distanced themselves from a ‘faked’ Destiny of Spirits image that has been circulating online, refusing to confirm whether or not a PS Vita game is in development.

If it is, it certainty won’t have the logo as you see above, as Bungie has told IGN that it is fake. More interesting though, they have also said that when they announce something, ‘they will use their main logo’. That tells us that there still may be a glimmer of hope that a game is on the way in the future – it’s just this particular image isn’t accurate.

What is accurate is that Sony has already trademarked the term ‘Destiny of Spirits’. We are already seeing Guerilla develop a PS Vita game called Killzone Mercenary, alongside Shadow Fall for the PS4, so could Bungie be planning a similar move with their exciting new IP on the way?

Having said that, Destiny is looking like a beast in terms of graphics potential – so would the PS Vita actually be able to run the game in a way that would do Bungie justice? The developer is held in very high regard after their Halo series on Xbox and the last thing they would want to do is assign a different developer to make the game and have it turn out like Black Ops Declassified.

It could just be the fact that both Sony and Bungie are trying to keep the game a secret until E3, much like Ubisoft are attempting to do with Assassin’s Creed: Rising Phoenix – tried and failed as we all know. Either way, let us know your ideas on Destiny coming to the PS Vita as Destiny of Spirits.

Could it be possible on the PS Vita hardware, and would you like to see a toned down game or not?

One game developer which we were shocked not to see at E3 2011 was Bungie, recently talk started emerging about something called Bungie Aerospace, we still do not know what this is, but we can reveal that later this month everything should become more clear.

According to a recent post on IGN Bungie will make a full announcement regarding Bungie Aerospace in the next few weeks, no accurate date has been given, however it will apparently coincide with a series of celebrations which they have planned to commemorate its 20th anniversary.

These celebrations are set to start will start on June 23rd and end on July 7th, during the reveal Bungie has promised to tell us all about Bungie Aerospace in explicit detail. For the time being we have some speculation to tell you about from Destructoid, GamesRadar and Bungie.net Forums, check out the links for full details.

There are plenty of ideas floating about, some think it will be Reach-related, some say they be licensing out their engine and others just think it is the name of a new game series which they will be releasing to multiple platforms, perhaps being published by Activision. David Houghton over at GamesRadar UK suggests that it could be a new community/distribution platform which will compete with Steam and finally Destructoid suggests that it will be a completely new engine which may be used by 343 Industries for Halo 4.

We think that the most exciting prospect is that it will be a new game series which involves space combat, however previously we also heard that it may be a multi-platform MMORPG.

What do you think Bungie Aerospace will be?

As you probably already know Halo 4 is scheduled for a release in 2012 and will not be developed by Bungie, instead 343 Industries is at the helm, a recent GameBlurb article has spotted a forum post over at Bungie.net which seems to reveal lots of information regarding 343′s upcoming game.

If you check out GameBlurb’s article you can see tons of leaked information regarding the next installment in the Halo video game series, all of which was originally posted on the Bungie.net forums, we won’t post any of the major spoilers here, but we will highlight some information which will be welcomed by many.

The spoilers talk in detail about the game’s setting and story line, things we don’t mind telling you about mainly consist of weapon, vehicle and maps information, but please remember we do not know how reliable the source of this information really is.

Apparently Halo 4 will feature fan favorite weapons and vehicles, there will be new vehicles to along with new weapons. Apparently weapons will feature an “unprecedented level of customization”, this sounds exciting to us as it seems to build for where Bungie left off with Halo: Reach. Other details suggest that Halo 4 will push the action genre boundaries and will feature huge maps which span land, sea and space.

Remember if you don’t mind reading spoilers check out the link to GameBlurb which can be found in this post’s second paragraph, the 500+ words of info which we read sounded pretty legitimate to us, what do you think?

Yesterday we brought you news about Bungie’s next venture being a massively multiplayer game, however there is now news that this may not be the case as David Aldridge, the Network Engineer for Bungie – who had revealed the shock to an audience at GDC, now states that he was joking.

An email sent from Aldridge to Bungie.net’s community personell and Bungie’s Director of Marketing read “FYI. The tape will exonerate me, but I’m sorry anyway. ” Maybe Aldridge has a unique sense of humour and no one really understood his joke.

Any claims of a MMO in future will be closely watched with scepticism, however we’re sure there will be much interest still into the next project that Bungie will work on. To us it sounds like Aldridge may have revealed something which Bungie did not want to be publicly know, however this is speculation on our part, not fact.

The story caused quite a stir as news was spread about the release of Bungie’s next title being a MMO and now claims are being withdrawn because of an apparent misunderstanding, are Bungie trying to hide something do you think?

Bungie, the creators of Xbox’s famed Halo series, has expressed plans for their next venture, although this time there is a twist. Bungie has previously embarked on first-person shooters with the Halo series and have created a top-down real-time strategy game with Halo Wars, now they want to create a Massively Multiplayer online game!

Bungie has hinted at MMO features in the past, however this month Bungie were rumoured to be making a first person MMO for Activision that is titled Destiny. This same game was said to use an all new game engine and was tagged as “World of Warcraft in space”, (Space following the setting for many Halo games).

In 2010 Bungie signed a ten year multi-platform contract with Activision, therefore it looks like this agreement has something to do with this MMO, Bungie had this to say about the MMO “we’re definitely looking at building a universe that people want to spend time in.”

There were rumors suggesting that Bungie’s MMO would be a Halo spin-off or a WoW copycat, however Bungie deny this, that said they are keeping very quiet about this mysterious game.

As we hear news about Bungie‘s MMO we will keep you up-to-date, will you be keeping a close eye on the matter?

A couple of weeks ago we began hearing rumors about the possibility of a new map pack arriving for Bungie’s popular first-person shooter, Halo: Reach. Well it now turns out that the rumors were correct, and Xbox 360 gamers can look forward to it arriving soon.

According to Mark Fajardo over on the justpushstart.com website, Microsoft has recently confirmed that the new “Defiant Map Pack” will be arriving on March 15th. The upcoming DLC will feature three new maps: Unearthed, Highlands and Condemned.

As Mike Jackson at computerandvideogames.com recently noted, the “Defiant Map Pack” will be available to purchase for 800 Microsoft Points. As well as adding three new maps to the Halo: Reach game, the new DLC will also give players 150 new Achievement points to unlock.

The “Unearthed” map takes place at a Titanium mine and refinery that’s located in the Viery civilian sector of the planet. This map enables up to 4 players to launch a counter-assault against the Covenant in Firefight modes such as Generator Defense.

“Highlands” is set on the Military Wilderness Training Preserve. This map supports 8-16 players, in gametypes such as Big Team Battle, Team Objective and Team Slayer. “Condemned” takes place aboard the Orbital Station Gamma, and supports 6-12 players in gametypes such as Free for All and Team Slayer.

Since Bungie released Halo: Reach back in September 2010 gamers have only been able to download one map pack, this is called the Noble Map Pack and was released in late November, if rumors turn out to be correct another map pack could be on its way.

According to a recent JoyStiq article the French website HaloDestiny posted some images of the Defiant Map Pack on their site, from what we can tell the DLC will consist of three maps, which are called Condemned, Unearthed and Highlands.

It looks as if HaloDestiny got in trouble for hosting these images if you check out their site (at the time of this post) the site was down and there was only forum access, I translated the message on the home page and have embedded it below.

The fact that the site hosting the images has been taken down suggests that this information is accurate, you can see the pics on this Flickr account, however don’t surprised if Bungie order the images to be deleted, for this reason we will not be embedding any of the images on Product-Reviews.

To me it does sound like Bungie plan to release the Defiant Map Pack, however this has not been confirmed yet, therefore we will have to keep you posted as we find out more.

Do you still play Halo: Reach? If so, will you buy the Defiant Map Pack?

We have some good news for those of you looking to pick up the Noble Map Pack for Halo Reach at the end of the month, as we have a great video preview for you to check out, showing some gameplay action from the three new maps.

As reported from Joystiq, the video comes to you courtesy of IGN who have given gamers a 3-minute runthrough of the three new maps, Tempest, Breakpoint and Anchor 9.

Just to remind you, the map pack will be releasing on Tuesday November 30th, so not long to go at all. It will be priced at 800 Microsoft points, so it’s a good deal from Bungie.

We have some important news for Halo Reach players on the Xbox 360 now, as it looks like a new Aimbot hack is currently in circulation for the game, and worst of all – it is apparently ‘undetectable’ from developers Bungie.

We’ve been informed about the new hack, and after studying the download link, it appears that the hack has surfaced from the guys over at Se7enSins – a well known team of hackers.

We are not going to post the download link here, but it is easy enough to find online anyway. Here is a portion of text from a tester who has been using the Aimbot for almost two weeks, undetected:

”Finally, a workin version of the Halo Reach Aimbot! I’ve been testing it for about 2 weeks now and have not been detected by Bungie. However, other players would get suspicious if you pull of something totally insane. I strongly suggest you do not be wreckless with this tool as you will ruin it for everyone!”

It is a shame that a small minority insist on ruining the experience for others, but hacks are becoming a common practice now, especially in console first person shooters. After having personal experience from seeing Aimbot users in Counterstrike, I can tell you that it is a very frustrating experience indeed.

What are your thoughts on this? Hopefully Bungie sees this report and takes action on it.
