When it comes to marketing a new car you can’t get better than including it in a Hollywood blockbuster, and they don’t come much bigger than Transformers. We’ve already seen several cars getting some great publicity from The Fast and Furious 6, but it’s not going to be anything like you would get from Transformers 4.

The latest Transformers 4 cars are a special race-inspired C7 Corvette Stingray, which is their new 2014 model, and also the awe-inspiring Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. It’s obvious why these cars were chosen to be mimicked by the Autobots, although they still won’t be able to outrun Starscream.

Filming has already begin for the new movie, so we only know these two cars from the movie, although we also know how Optimus Prime will look when transformed into his big rig.

We are uncertain as to the names of the new Autobots who will be taking the form of the 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray and the Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, but they could have chosen less conspicuous paint jobs.

Whenever a new supercar is about to enter production or is even announced it is always going to be compared to the Bugatti Veyron, which as we know is the world’s fastest production car. However, there’s always more to a supercar or hypercar than top speed alone because it’s also about all-round ability as well, which is just what the McLaren P1 is counting on.

On paper the Bugatti Veyron has the McLaren P1 beat because the former has an 8-liter W12 engine producing 1,184 horsepower for the Super Sport version and a top speed of 267 mph when compared to 3.8-liter V-8 producing over 800 horsepower for the latter. It’s clear in a drag race the Veyron would be the victor, but put both these cars on a track and the outcome might be a little different.

The reason for this is because the Veyron is a heavy old beast when compared to the P1 and there’s also the fact that acceleration of the P1 will be helped along thanks to KERS. McLaren doesn’t have any plans to be the fastest, but they do want the P1 to be the best drivers car, which was once the McLaren F1, and in many cases is still regarded as one of the best supercars ever made.

While the P1 does look very sexy there is a fear that the car could suffer with the same issue that the McLaren MP4-12C does, and that’s not giving the driver a feeling of being in control. One of the reasons behind this is that too much of the car has been designed on a computer as well as a computer doing a lot of the work while driving. It’s this that could prove an issue with the P1, but let’s wait and see – although out of the two I’d go with the McLaren P1 because it just has far more sex appeal while the Veyron looks as though it’s a little overweight.

When we first learned of the Hennessey Venom GT we knew that the car had two supercars in its sights, and that was the Koenigsegg Agera R and the awe-inspiring Bugatti Veyron. We knew that the car was a beast and had some huge ambitions and in a recent Guinness World Record attempt the Venom GT obliterated the Agera R.

The record was for the world’s fastest production car from 0 to 300 kph (186 mph), the Venom GT did this in 13.63 seconds, which is a second faster than the Koenigsegg. The team also thought they would see how much faster they were getting to 200 mph, and it was 14.51 seconds, 3 seconds faster than the Agera R.

MSN Autos said that the Venom GT was also faster than the Veyron Super Sport to 200 mph by a staggering 8 seconds, although they do say that this is an unofficial record. However, you have to remember that the Veyron is heavy and not about acceleration but more about top speed, which it still holds the record for.

Hennessey’s next aim is to break the world record for the fastest production car, which as we know is 268 mph and is held by the Veyron Super Sport. We’re not sure if the Venom GT has what it takes, but that 1,244 horsepower has the grunt to do it, but does the rest of the car? The reason we say this is because the Veyron is technology taken to the limits, whereas the Venom GT is pretty much old-school engineering.

We should know before the year is out if VW plan to build the new supercar, but take one last look at the images on Autoblog, as the car will not look anything like those concept images. We cannot be 100 percent certain what changes will need to be made, but AutoCar does say that Volkswagen are now in the second phase of the project – just hope Bugatti learn before Christmas, as that will make a perfect gift.

So let’s look at what changes could be made; it is reported that from the B-pillar back and also the rear seats will need to have a few modifications, as they will increase the amount of leg room passengers will have. To do this the car will need to be made longer, which then means that the engine will have to have an increase in power. People never seem to realize that the moment that you make one change, this then leads to a few other needed changes for it to all work.

What we like about some of these suggested changes was that VW did not push for them, but from future customers – makes sense, as they will be the ones parting with around £1.5 million of their money. Once the changes have been approved then you will see the man in charge of Bugatti, Wolfgang Durheimer become totally committed to the new project.

We do not have any idea as to what the top speed will be, but we do not expect it to top the Veyron, as this was meant to be a one-off for the company, just to prove that they can do it. There seems to be a lot of love for the world’s fastest production car, wonder if that will emulate over to the new model?

OK, so we know that it does not have the top speed to beat the Bugatti Veyron, but its 0-60mph time of 2.6 seconds does. The price for the GTR is $27,955.00, but there are a number of optional extras for you to choose from here. Next up has to be the Bugatti Veyron Super Sport, which as we know is still the fastest production car. The SS is so much heavier, and more expensive than the GTR and could not be further apart.

The Ariel Atom again is not what you would call a top ten fastest car, but it is still one of the fastest when it comes to acceleration, which is 0-60 in just 2.9 seconds. You need to be fit to drive this vehicle though, as we have seen on Top Gear the amount of G-force that you are subjected to. Again, this car is much cheaper than the usual suspects, so ideal for those who have a limited budget, but loves speed.

You cannot have a list without including the Enzo Ferrari, its 221mph top speed is now overshadowed but the Veyron, Zonda etc, but when it comes to looks it has to be at the top of the list. When you look head on you will think that it is just an overgrown F1 car, you will know what we mean if you are a fan of the sport. This does not come as a surprise though, as a huge amount of Formula One technology was used when designing the Enzo, it is for this reason why the car can now fetch over $1,000,000 at auction.

No list can be complete without the McLaren F1, which first went into production in 1992. The technology used was ahead of its time, but is now showing its age. Having said that, put it on a track and the car will show most modern supercars a thing or two about speed and handling. If you were to take the rev limiter off, the McLaren F1 could reach a top speed of 240 mph – not bad for a car that is almost 20 years old.

Well there is our list of what we think are the best fastest automobiles, but would you agree?

Bugatti are calling their new model the Grand Sport L’Or Blanc, and this version has been specially fitted with porcelain and a caviar tray. The interesting thing about the L’Or Blanc is that it’s not actually meant to be driven on the road, instead it has been produced with art in mind and is designed to compliment any car lovers collection of luxurious autos.

Despite only just being launched, the Bugatti Grand Sport L’Or Blanc has already found its first owner – a car collector from the United Arab Emirates who has just paid a staggering £1.2 million for one. The porcelain elements on the new model have been designed from specialist company KPM, while other notable features include a picnic facility in the center of the vehicle – a pretty bizarre addition we feel, but a feature which adds to the ‘I have the world’s most expensive car, and you don’t’ bragging rights.

Obviously this is a dream car for many of you, and it’s unlikely that the majority of you won’t be able to experience what it feels like to drive the most expensive car in the world, unless you are Cristiano Ronaldo of course. The most expensive car in the world is the Bugatti Veyron, which costs $1,700,000. Some may question if a car is truly worth this much, but you have to remember that this vehicle uses cutting edge technology to propel it to speeds of 267mph, as well as a 0-60 time of just 2.5 seconds.

Next up we have the Lamborghini Reventon, this car is a little slower than the Veyron, but still has a price tag of $1,600,000. One of the main reasons for this high price is because there are only 20 made.

The third most expensive costs $970,000, and dates back to 1994, that’s right it is the McLaren F1. This is the one car that everybody loved, and even though it is now 17 years old, it can still show supercars today a thing or two. The McLaren F1 has a top speed of 240mph and 0-60 in just 3.2 seconds.

These are jut three of the world’s most expensive cars going on the 2010-2011 list, but where will they feature next year? We cannot say for certain if any car will beat the Bugatti Veyron, as the car costs more to build than they sell it for – not certain if other carmakers want to swallow that cost?

The good thing is, to get all that extra power you do not need to pay any extra money for an engine upgrade or other modifications, just fill the fuel tank up with E85 bio-ethanol instead of 95-octane gasoline. Who would have thought that going for a fuel that is more fuel-efficient will give you a power increase of 175hp.

So let us take a look at a few of the main specs of the new Agera R and see how it compares to the Super Sport. Firstly and most importantly is the engine, the Koenigsegg has a 5-liter V8 with twin turbos, The Veryon has a 8-litre W12 16 cylinder engine with a quad turbo system – seems like Bugatti wins that round then.

0 to 60 mph for the Agera R is just 2.9 seconds, the Veyron does it in 2.5 seconds. The top seed of the SS Veyron is 267.856 mph, the Agera R is said to hit over 242mph – although we have no official figures just yet. So looking at things it looks as though the Bugatti Veyron SS, has all things covered, but you certainly pay the price for it. Yes the Koenigsegg Agera R will also come with a hefty price tag, but not as much as the Bugatti.

Auto Express has a render of what they believe the 2014 Veyron will look like, and you can clearly see that the basic shape has been kept. When you have a car that has been designed to go over 250mph, you know that you are almost at the limits with aerodynamics – well for road going cars anyway.

The former head of Bentley and Bugatti has been telling Auto Express that the next Veyron Supercar will be an evolution of the 1999 design; so we can expect to see some subtle changes here and there. However, it is the technology of the materials that will change the most.

Along with a much lighter frame you can expect to see the same 8.0-liter W16 engine with its quad-turbo system, but this power will then be channeled through a newly revised seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Add all this together and you will have a $1.6 million car that will hit 0-60mph in 2.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of 270mph, which is just faster than the 2011 Bugatti Veyron Super Sport.

If you are looking for something just a little different, then there is also a 2014 Bugatti Royale planned. The rumors of such a car has certainly intensified over the past few weeks, but ConsumerGuide Automotive warns that this is all you speculation at the moment, and uncertain if it will ever make it out of the concept stage.

Which of the two would you much rather?

We recently reported that Bugatti made their baby even better with the 2011 Super Sport edition, and Rex Roy from Autoblog has done what most of us could only dream of – test drive the machine. The first thing you need to know is just how hard it must have been for him to drive the car, as it costs a staggering $2.58 million.

For that you get a car that offers 1001-horsepower and just like a child Roy thought that he would test all those horses. His first test drive seemed like an awesome one, he hit over 300kph (186.4 mph) on his first run and points to the fact that in one power curve it was like an F-18 on afterburners. I wonder why he did not want to hit its top speed – 267.81mph?

I have watched many episodes of Top Gear (UK Version) and have seen how elegant the Veyron is, it is not like a white-knuckle ride like most super cars, and it is for this reason why the car will always be a favorite of mine. If I could have two cars in my garage it would be this and the McLaren F1.
